1. Holy Cow! someone stop this madness...
Willy ,   Israel   (01.24.08)
he problem is: The long he can provide panem et circens those lambs will do anything for him. In terms of cheap buying off people for political power this guy is worse than 10 Bibis combined.
2. Free Willy!!! From Israel...
Man ,   Haifa   (01.24.08)
3. Help!
Simcha ,   Jerusalem   (01.24.08)
Someone tell me where to go to sign up!
4. politics
colin   (01.24.08)
It is not the number that bothers the other parties.Arcadi is show2ing that Israel is sick of the corruption.Yes he buys what he wants!! Arcadi at least is doing something for the public and not looking for himself.May he be successful in desposing of the present bunch of corrupt rubbish even if he has to pay to find others to help him run the country.
5. Another party ?
leon ,   Grand Rapids U S A   (01.24.08)
More parties. More confusion. More inability to govern successfully or reach a concensus. Next: a party of red-headed near-sighted cab drivers ? Oy Veh !
6. Gadayamk
Ben ,   US   (01.24.08)
If law requires new party enlistee to REQUEST being removed from prior party membership Be sure Mr G is doing it as part of enrollment process, with proof of that resignation delistment request being sent. Mr G did not get where he is by missing the details - big and small. Good for him
7. GADAYAMK FOR PRIME MINISTER
HAL TRIPP ,   LA PAZ, BOLIVIA   (01.24.08)
WHAT WOULD BE SO BAD, HE'S A BRILLIANT BUSINESSMAN,LOVES ISRAEL AND WON'T BE A SCHNOORER LEADER LIKE THE OTHER LEADERS OF ISRAEL.HE CAN LIVE IN LONDON AND NEW YORK BUT HE REMAINS IN ISRAEL.HE HAS SPENT BILLIONS IN ISRAEL,WE NEED MORE MEN LIKE HIM, KOL HAKAVOD, GOOD LUCK
8. I don't like the old known way Gaydamark do politics
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (01.24.08)
He has a "buying"mentality and I don't think that's good. Take his money out,as an exercice of abstraction, and see what he has to say or to offer , then one can reach a better conclusion about him. I also don't like the kind of business he is entagled with-arms smugling and others- and the police charges against him. Another fact to be considered,is the interest of Israel to have its politics shifted to Russia, since Gaydamark is from Russia and has strong ties with it. Russia seems to be willing to play an important role in the actual geopolitics, which I am not able to understand very well yet,but those who are ,should think about this and consider all aspects of Gaydamark's attempts to step in Israeli's politics and in how it would turn,if he succeds-in short, middle and long terms.
9. Idiots! This is the new Kadima
Adam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.24.08)
10. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak is....
Yehuda Miller ,   Jerusalem Israel   (01.24.08)
Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak is open and honest, something most Israeli politicians are not. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak speaks little and does much; the reverse is true for the Israeli politicians. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak has prestige and is cultured, something Israeli politicians have not and are not. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak has clear intentions which are good for the people of Israel; the Israeli politician’s intensions are not clear and are no good for the people of Israel. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak is the people of Israel, the Israeli politicians are since far removed from the Israeli people. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak is generous he gives and gives endlessly from his heart with no discrimination or reservation, most Israeli politicians take and take mostly what is not theirs and are greedy to no end. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak is making great changes in Israel and needs the publics support to do so even more, this is why he has given life to a party. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak does not seek a seat of power and great control as Israeli politicians do, Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak creates them answering the people’s needs. Talkback # 1 Willy; Learn to give a real man a chance, you have nothing to lose just to gain, then you can apologize for your silly remark. Talkback # 3 Simca; I don’t know why 144 does not have listing for Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak’s party, call the writer and ask him; 03-610-6666 Attila 20966 . Talkback # 5 Leon; How can you be confused when Israel is at risk, clearly Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak is the only and most logical choice for all that care about Israel. Talkback # 8 Keren; You don’t like you say, well enjoy and exercise that right while you are able to, Olmert’s of Israel soon will do away with that right of yours and more. Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak gives and suddenly some people have a problem with that hmm well it reminds me of that man that won $64,000,000 in the American lotto, he purchased several home, cars, boats, a store, clothes, assisted friends and charities, traveled over and over again and 3 years later that man still doesn’t believe he won the $64,000,000.00. Why is it you people have a problem with receiving assistance when all you do is beg GOD all the time for someone to assist you, are you all that used to being abused and lied to that a good willed man that has kind gesture embedded in his fine character is to be shunned cause he offers you exactly what you all need and beg for? Israel lives off of donations from nations so what is your problem with Mr. Arcadi Gaidomak making Israel a less corrupt and more independent Land? That is Israel’s problem, she is not a country just a state. I am voting/supporting Arcadi Gaidomak for a better Israel and a more secure place for children to grow. This is my opinion Yehuda
11. It's all because of Bibi
Gary   (01.24.08)
The Likud used to stand up for the poorer sections of Israeli Jewish society, is why they had such massive support among the Sephardim. Then Bibi comes along and imposes Thatcherist 19th century starvation economics on us, and that's why the Likud has lost the support of the poor. Bibi dug the Likud's grave and the gap was filled by Gaydamak
12. Do we know who this man is?
Jippus ,   Holland   (01.24.08)
Keren is right. Gaydamak promises heaven, but what has he done so far? Offered some hundreds of Sderot residents a free holiday to Eilat. Is that what Israel needs? I'm afraid he uses his money to become popular among the people. But when half the country is angry with its current leaders, it's quite easy for him to become popular by promising gold-topped mountains... Let him first show what he really can do! This summer I've been to Sderot, helping the residents by renovating some bombshelters and stuff like that. But some people didn't want us to renovate their bombshelters, because Gaydamak has promised them to renovate them and put air conditioners in them. They wanted to show us some shelters that he had already renovated. But guess what... He put a lock on them! Well, those Gaydamak-bombshelters have undoubtedly been very useful last week...:-S
13. Well said, Yehuda Miller!
Simcha ,   Jerusalem   (01.24.08)
Thanks for the suggestion.
14. Israel needs real political reform more than another party
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.24.08)
Anyone with enough resources and a brand name can create another party. Heck, when I was a college student I envisioned a new centrist party for Israel; I even gave it a name. Then I went back to my studies. What Israel *does* need is serious political reform, starting with district based representation. Add a constitutionally defined system of checks and balances, and a separation of powers. The Justice and Police departments need to be de-politicized as well.
15. #10, Gaidamak is a black horse
Antonio ,   Haifa   (01.24.08)
Yes, he is a great philanthropist. But what are his proposals? What does his party stand for? Nice name for the party aside, we know nothing about his stances on any of the important issues.
16. WHAT DOES THIS PARTY STAND FOR???
Hymie Zoltsveis ,   New York City, NY   (01.24.08)
Just what does this new party stand for? Could it be even more vile than current large parties? A HUGE concern that I have is that Russian immigrants to Israel are typically VERY un-Jewish (some of them got in by FALSELY claiming to be Jewish). The Russian Jews that I met in Israel OVEWHELMINGLY wer disgracefully secular and UN-JEWISH. Their markets are full of pork and trayfe. They are NON-observant. What Israel needs are politicians who are MORE JEWISH, and MORE OBSERVANT. But, PLEASE tell me about this new party and this Russian guy.
17. I grew up in Russia and this is what I think
Merrill ,   New York, NY   (01.25.08)
Although I am in no position to tell the Israelis how to live their lives considering I reside in the US, and not in Israel, having lived in Former Soviet Union, then Russia and the United States, the real secret of United States success, in my opinion, is the country's political system. This is exactly what Raymond (post #14) talks about: "What Israel *does* need is serious political reform, starting with district based representation. Add a constitutionally defined system of checks and balances, and a separation of powers. The Justice and Police departments need to be de-politicized as well. " I couldn't put it better myself. In terms of Mr. Gaidamak, he could be a very nice man and all, but as I see it he is a power-hungry bored ultra-rich man who is looking for a new toy to keep him busy . Once he realizes the real challenge of running the country, he will forget about all the nice promises he made and disingage. (I would be also pleasantly surprised if he doesn't enrich himself further in the process a la Putin & Co.)
18. Gaydamak wants to buy Labor Party offices
