1. Now that they have all the munitions they want
Mike Jefferson ,   Washington, D.C.   (01.28.08)
The border incident was nothing more than a publicity stunt to try to garner sympathy in the world court of public opinion. The bogus photos of Paleo lawmakers supposedly sitting in the dark - when it is clearly light outside - reinforces their propaganda mastery. Now that the Paleos have brought in Katushyas, tons of plastic explosives and other munitions and have had their photos on the front pages of the NYT's and elsewhere, their job is done and the border no longer beacons.
2. What Kind of Deal Was Struck?
emanon ,   USA   (01.28.08)
Did Egypt agree to open other "unofficial" crossing points so the terrorist can import munitions and other war material with impunity? Surely the Muslim Brotherhood, long known about and very active in Egypt, will be aiding Hamas and Fatah in their War of Terror against Israel and Jews everywhere.
3. war against Israel?
Richard ,   London UK   (01.28.08)
Isreali deaths in last SIX YEARS due to Palestinian rocket fire: 13 Palestinian deaths in last 28 DAYS due to Isreali missiles, bullets, tank shells etc: 30
4. Richard, you are making progress
israeli ,   israel   (01.28.08)
The Palestinians should stop firing rockets into Israel in order to minimize their own losses. For once, I agree with you. If you agree with me that the "resistance" has brought Palestinians nothing but trouble and is in fact acting against them. But then, when did the PLO, Fatah, Hamas, you name them, give a rat's ear about civilian deaths?
5. Realism, humanism or politics.
Harold Lane ,   Tel Aviv   (01.28.08)
Arabs should start to be realistic and stop dreaming. Instead of blaming the Jews and Israel for all their misfortunes and failures, they should, at last, try to face their problems and try to solve them in a logic humanitarian and peaceful ways. If they will go on searching to solve their problems with easy solutions or wars they will only win more sorrow and more misery. As to the friends of Israel and the Arabs, they should have a new approach of the probleme of this region, look with realism to the facts, all the facts, and help without having an eye on their own egoistic interests. Of course the humanitarian aspect of the Israelo-Arab differences should have priority, but then comes an approach to what is really possible for the present and for the future. Israel, of course can help, but the Arabs have to take their part and abandon their dreams of conquest, mainly, because they will be the big beneficiaries as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/win-win-solution-to-arab-israeli_7104.html

put down your pipe for one second, you can not see thru the cloud it has produced. Your small mind can not grasp all the events that happen in the ME so just stick to your daily dosage of the Guardian.
7. Arabic brotherhood = Zero
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (01.28.08)
while they have no brotherhood in home ! I HAVE ALREADY MADE MANY MANY ENEMIES IN WORLD JUST BECAUSE TO HELP THEM. there are many tests. tests from The God. The God gives problems and see us how we response OUT OF POLITICS ! I FIND ARABS NOT GOOD FOR EACH OTHER. I am talking general. ıts not about this news.
8. Progress?
Richard ,   London UK   (01.28.08)
One Twelve-year-old Israeli child who, in August 2007 while on a family visit in the village of Saida in Tulkarm district, was killed by undercover troops who had come to arrest his brother and his brother's friend, who were wanted by Israel.
9. #3 what exactly is the point of these useless stats?
Danny   (01.28.08)
There is simply no dispute that the vast majority of Palestinians killed by the IDF in the last couple of months are "militants". Nobody is denying it, Hamas isn't, Israel isn't, Fatah isn't, Press aren't - but possibly you are. Similarly there is simply no dispute that ALL the people killed by Palestinian rocket fire are civilians. PS I assume your cut and paste in#8 is a mistake. I can't imagine you being "outraged" at the death of an Israeli child.
10. Richard...
Richard ,   USA   (01.28.08)
what about the poor Brazilian guy shot on the London tube for no other reason than the fact he was dark-skinned? Your examples are nothing more than anecdotal and frankly irrelevant to the arguement around who is culpable for the events on the ground. You better learn to pray to Mecca my friend because it will not be long before the Queen's country will be subjugated by her muslim guests! Couldn't happen to a nicer country...who is actually responsible for 90% of the chaos that has ensued over the last 100 years in the ME. Interesting you have nothing to say about that subject. You would be best served writing to the Arabic talkbacks since they are a much more civilized bunch!

Knock-it-off with the numbers game. We all know your a gambling addict. Rather, Egyptians may knock some sense into Hamas throughout the process or they're destroying themselves; either way.
