1. No wonder it took them a year and a half
Simon ,   TA Israel   (01.30.08)
seeing as they were getting paid 38,000 NIS a month, i mean why rush things ? string it out as much a possible why dont they. The fact is its all a PR stunt anyway we all know nothing will happen anyway, but hay it kept a panel of pensioners off the streets for a while.
2. The Winnograd Report is significant
Brod ,   USA   (01.30.08)
In 1973 Israel was attacked by Egypt and Syria with rockets and other sophisticated weaponry. Caught unprepared Israel suffered heavy casualties in men and materiel. Despite being caught with their pants down, Israel led by brilliant and brave Generals like Sharon, Kalahani, Ben Gal and others and their brave soldiers who fought against great odds, they prevailed and defeated Egypt and Syria within 3 weeks!! In the aftermath, the Prime Minister and Defense Minister resigned. The Chief of the Armed Forces Elazar was fired. In the Second Lebanon War, Hezbollahtan still managed to fire their rockets at Israel after more than a month of fighting. The performance of the government in the Second Lebanon War was nothing compared to Israel's spectacular performances of the Wars of 1967 and 1973. Hence, the government should take responsibility for their performance of the Second Lebanon War in the wake of the Winnograd Report and take the necessary step to pave for a new election for a strong government that will enhance Israel's deterrence, defend the nation decisively against Israel's enemies from within and without, and ensure Israel's national security interests.
3. CONCLUSION? EVERYBODY ELSE BUT OMERT TO BLAME
stude ham   (01.30.08)
Or is the mandate of the winograd commission being misread from the reports? What a crock of lard this will be if olmert politicized this report to such an extent that his idiocy as PM was not to be referenced in its pages.
4. bush
eli ,   tel aviv   (01.30.08)
in case you were woundering what Bush was doing in Isarel. just look at the report. he came to manipulate the report in a way that will clear Olmert. now Bush will dictate to Olmert. and little Olmert, will listen like a good little boy. unless... we all see thrugh this. and force him to do the righjt think, and resign.
5. Apparent Olmert satisfied with Findings
Marcel   (01.30.08)
All know that Olmert is a coward and has no leadership skills in war and security. If it is true that the report says Olmert acted reasonably since reports indicate peretz and olmert are happy, Israel is finished. She will lose the next round in gaza and iran's prediction of collapse are likely to happen. Thank you for destroying israel.
6. Olmert's poodle
DS ,   KA, Israel   (01.30.08)
doctored, doctored! How can you expect Winograd to tell the truth? He is Olmert's poodle!
7. Let's see....
Ilan ,   Ariel   (01.30.08)
Barak wants to stay in the governent, and he is the Defense minister. Defense ministry officials say Olmert was vindicated. Isn't that neat and convenient? No suprises, no significance, just spin.
8. winograd report
sas ,   israel   (01.30.08)
a waste of time n money if these are his conclusions. ohlmert must resign along with mofaz (who probably is the biggest failure and liar). disgusting to hear what was read. it makes me sick. believe me - m i happy that my children are no longer in the army and my grandchildren will leave the country before it is their time to serve it. if one cannot trust the decision makers - what am i doing here??????????
