1. guess whats happening in pakistan and china?
jack bauer   (02.05.08)
in pakistan young christian boys have been getting kidnapped and murdered....not becuase they are hated(which they are) but so that their organs can be harvested and sold on the black market! Also there are no fresher organs then those available in china. You can have an inmate in a concentration camp selected for you (one that matches)and then murdered so the organs you need are super fresh This world is getting worse every time I turn around So much for people and civilzation getting better harvesting organs is not kosher and it can never be no matter how one tries ti twist the laws in torah dead is dead unclean is unclean I dont want people cutting me up when I die....and I wont ask for anyone elses organs to be chopped out of them if I needed a transplant either
2. So start donating Sharon's organs - or HE is still alive?

.... "passed it first reading in the Knesset last week, with 10 MKs voting in favor and two abstaining..." WHERE are the other 108 MKS ??? Meaning where are they shopping, skiing, vacationing ?
4. #1 - Very Kosher, actually

Jack, organ transplants are approved of and encouraged by, if not all, then certainly virually all Rabbinic authorities. The only thing prohibited is the killing of one person to save another. That is why determining the halachic time of death is so vital. Irrespective of secular opinions, if a person is still alive from a halachic perspective, it would be murder to take his organs to save another life. But when a person is halachically dead, it is not only OK, but is indeed a mitzva to save another life by using his organs.
5. As a former donor coordinator, read this

Some scarey facts: 1.) In the US, time of death regs are regularly ignored and signatures applied hours later and based on what the attending nurses wrote down 2.) There is a wide girth between the practice of donating from a cadaver and removing organs from a person who's body never cooled because it was kept on a respirator (which cause the blood pressure to stay up) Organ donation in the US is muddied by the associated practice of also taking the skin, cartiledge, bones, eyes--which are highly, highly profitable. When I realized what was happening without a truly informed consent from families, I resigned. Before this bill is passed, the public needs a more complete understanding of what will happen to the bodies of these people.

It's probably easy to say you wouldn't accept an organ transplant while you don't need one and, hopefully, never will. But I imagine it's a lot more difficult to reject a transplanted organ when it's the only thing that can save your life or the life of a loved one. Not only that, but just because there are barbaric situations in countries like China or Pakistan doesn't mean it's happening everywhere. Certainly, here in the U.S. there are very tight controls governing organ donation. The problem is there aren't enough organs for all the people who need them. But, even with that being the case, nobody's talking about creating concentration camps for that purpose. Even the idea of it would be preposterous for any civilized society.

No one will chop up your body against your will. However, there are a lot of good organs decomposing in cemetaries that could have been used to save someone. We believe that a person has to be buried with all their body parts intact. I think that G-d will understand though and not hold it against you that some parts are missing if you let them be used to save another human being.
8. ok, then a few questions.... for 4, 6, & 7
jack bauer   (02.08.08)
#4 if touching a dead body makes one unclean, then how could it be kosher to cut parts out of a dead body? I dont like it when people die.....but people (even rabbis)say whatever makes others happy, or earns them money..... there are pigs with human dna in them.....so the transplants take more readily......are those kosher to? cmon, by your arguements its a mitzva, right? #6 I love the last sentence in your post. I agree with all my heart. But when I was in china an older chinese woman showed me evidence of the human transplant farm, IT WAS A CONCENTRATION CAMP. the starving people there looked like them came right out of a holocaust video. They(comintern) are not civilized. 7. they will if I dont stop them. I have made a point of telling everyone in my family that I am not to be chopped up. Also I do not want someone elses parts if they can save me. Many countries now have a policy of opting out of donation. Not opting in. That means if someone is unknown, they can be harvested.....and I mean everything.....organs, eyes.....you name it. Now even here in australia they were talking about putting it on your license that you are NOT to be cut up. So they can cut up whoever they like wanting the organs fresh. Even without family consent. The population wasnt quite ready for it, but no doubt they will try again in a few years. read #5 I have heard the stroies which would make you cringe, and I wont put them here. OK fair enough, people need organs.....because they smoke, or overeat, or whatever....find the root cause of the problem and address it before it gets out of hand...then you wont need a heart or some lungs. #7 I dont think God would mind that I dont want some strangers, who I dont trust to hack me up for profit. I want to be able to stand before him on the day of my judgement and be able to tell him that I tried my best to follow all his commandments.....not just the ones that make me feel good. So even one of my kids would be out of luck if he thought I'd give him a butchered part.
9. To #2 - What the hell has this to do with Ariel Sharon?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (02.09.08)
If you have a point make it. If you have something to say, say it but we have enough idiotic comments on this rag YnetNews! As organ donation can and does save lives, surely to donate is a huge mitzvah and thus should be encouraged by the religious. Organ donation should be automatic UNLESS the deceased has signed a "living will" state that he does not want to donate or if the family don't want their loved ones organs removed. However, the wishes of the deceased in a “living will” should not be allowed to be altered.
10. NO

There have been patients that could have been saved and doctors let die, or helped them die faster, once these doctors discovered that said patients were organ donators. Organ transplants is a hugely high profit business, ESPECIALLY in the States. Don't full yourselves, people. Doctors chop up certain people so they can profit from other, desperate patients, who have the money to pay for the organs. Search the web for more information, and DO make an informed decision. Prior to signing anything, write a will. Tell your loved ones to be sure that you are really dead before doctors discuss your organs. For those of you who say that it's halachically correct to donate organs, well, I'd like to know who these rabbis are, for I know for a fact, that it's against halacha. People need to be buried whole. That is the reason that Zaka make every efforts to scrape every piece of flesh they find, identify them, and bury them together with victims' bodies. Peace be with you. I hope no one here will ever need to have organ transplants, and a long, healthy life to us all.
