1. Mines - now!!!
Meir , |
Beit Shemesh |
|
(02.05.08) |
The fence will take up to 2010 to build, and we need to stop terrorists now. We need to put mines along the whole border, so that anything that moves.......will not move again. That would of course include animals, unfortunately Sudanese refugees, but most importantly, terrorists.

6. Fences can be breeched, only peace will bring security
Lev Bronstein , |
Moscow, RU |
|
(02.05.08) |
What does it take for Israelis to recognize that the settlement enterprise has been the number one impediment to security. As long as Israel continues to occupty Palestinian lands, there will never be security as the the vicitims of occupation, like those in the warsaw ghettos, will give their lives willingly so others may be free. War and occupation have done nothing but to make Israel a pariah among nations and to shame Jews around the world and clearly even after 40 years of defenses, those whose land you occupy can still strike back. Do you really want to live in fear forever, or discard the Zionist ideology that has failed for decades and make peace and live normal lives. The settlers have their own misguided agenda, but Israelis must decide whwere they want to be 5 or 10 years from now, in a continual war zone, or living in peace? Choose the latter and your dream will end in sorrow, but choose peace and your dreams will be revealed. Start acting like G-d's chosen if that is truly who you think you are and people might actually believe you.....,

10. No Money!
Yosef , |
Etzion Israel |
|
(02.05.08) |
Thereare three solutions to "No Money".Print more money. Raise taxes. Cut the budgets for the ministries across the board. The economy doesn't generate enough money to take care of all our needs. Writing columns about the need for educational reform, raising salaries, building fences etc. is fatuous.

11. # 6 Sicko Stay in Moscoow the land of nada
Russia can't feed her own and you want to tell Israel all about it?
The smart ones have already left Russia.
I see you're still posting from Moscow.
Perhaps you should visit an orphanage there and feed some of the kids their parents couldn't.
Russia is doomed.
She treats Jews worse than you!

12. Serially Incompetent
Gideon Reader , |
USA |
|
(02.05.08) |
You NEED a selfless group of COMPETENT persons elected to perform as leaders, not personally biased towards their own enrichment and maintainance of their power base: and functionaries assigned to ministries that actually knownhow to supervise the appropriate functioning of those ministries.
A functioning border with all that entails would not be a negative.
The totality of Israel's problem is personnel selection at EVERY level.
I am charged by circumstances to remark that Olmert the Failed's chat regarding his acceptance of responsibility, yada, yada, yada; is just more of the Olmert Driedle Effect. More reprehensibile is the scant and mild annoyance of the few MK's who voted to give this Gacy painted polititurd a pass.

13. Only a massive bombardment of palis will help
jason white , |
afula,israel |
|
(02.05.08) |
For every terrorist attack we should bomb the palis with a thousand artillery shells till they learn They should suffer massive civilian casualties. Maybe they will learn. Their infrastructure should be destroyed the first time they try a terrorist attack.

Has any fence or wall stopped a missile, does any fence or wall stopped anyone from getting over or digging under or breaking through it, can any fence or wall or lined fortification stopped a modern army from attacking and finding weakness like the Bar Lev Line or Maginot Line, maybe Israel leaders should really starting learning what defeating an enemy is about, and less about politics. The walls and fences around Gaza has stopped not one missile, but when Israel controlled its population not one missile entered Israel, israel did not want its boys and men in reserves to fight, now have their wives and children on the front lines being blown up by bombs and missiles, but I guess the people in Gush Katif, Sederot and Askelon are not representative of the people in the Knesset, religious, sefardim and the poor.

15. A fence is not the answer. The words of Teddy Rooseveldt are
David , |

The time is right for the "treading" to stop and the "big stick" to be used!
They fire at Sderot, we fire at Beit Hanun. They fire at Ashkelon, we fire at Khan Yunis. They fire at Ashdod, we fire at Gaza City.
They carry out terror attacks in our cities, we bomb the headquarters of the organization that did it. Civilian casualties - too bad! Do they worry about our civilians? Amnesty International and the Human Rights groups: Go to hell! You only care about Arab lives. The people of Gaza support Hamas in their killing of Israelis. They are not innocent bystanders! Where are Human Rights of those butchered and maimed by terror?
Jews are not expendable. We will fight back until this Arab Terror is scourged from the face of the Earth.
The USA always calls for restraint on the part of Israel but has caused the deaths of over a million people in Iraq without even being attacked but that country. We are fighting for OUR survival and it is now time to really take the gloves off! Our Government is responsible to the people of Israel NOT to the Government of the USA! The US Veto in the UN Security Council is indeed important to Israel but what is the use of a friend with a veto when our people are being killed?

16. FENCES, WALLS & ELIMINATING THE ENEMY
David P. , |
Santa Cruz, USA |
|
(02.05.08) |
It is obvious that walls will only slow down terrorists bent on destroying Israel. Barriers act only as a temporary obstacle until a route is located around them. Israel has only one choice and that is to eradicate the terror infrastructure by force!!!!!

Let me guess that your real name sounds more like Khalil Abo Mohammad from previous 5 postings. Let me second-guess by saying that you're not an arab since you're too well versed in English. That leaves me believing that you're some Pakistani student trying to get a quality education in Moscow on a chip budget. But don't kid yourself by taking a public anti-Semitic stance. Don't hide your real name behind a name of a famous Russian revolutionary of Jewish descent. For Russians you're still a 'choorka' or a 'chernozhopii'.

22. Do you fight terror by erecting a fence ?...
Harold Lane , |
Tel Aviv |
|
(02.06.08) |
Does a fence stop Qassams ? Erecting a fence in order to defend the population of a country is certainly not a serious solution. We should rise above our ghetto mentality and fight in order to defeat the terrorists and destroy them. We are engaged in a War as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/02/new-war_01.html

25. fences
tom , |
toronto, canada |
|
(02.08.08) |
so far, the existing security fences have thwarted most terror attacks. in order to get to israel, the terrorists must now overcome an additional obstacle, which means that it's working.
a fence can be circumvented, especially if it's incomplete. that doesn't mean that a fence was a bad idea, but that it needs to be completed. if the settlers are uncomfortable about being on the wrong side of the fence, that's probably nature's way of suggesting that they move, and soon.
and unfortunately the writer knows the reality of israeli politics only too well: there's no budget for finishing the fence, but there'll be millions of dollars for anti-qassam systems, and fences in sinai, etc.
