31. Excellent Article
Brod ,   USA   (02.10.08)
Right on target. The problem is external forces who want to see Israel dismembered and usurped by the ravenous wolves want Leftists to be their Agent to do their job for them. The Leftists seem to be a willing participant. Only the people can ensure that their leaders are held accountable for their action and performance. Leaders are not immune to the dissatisfaction of the masses as shown to what happened to some leaders in other countries in the past 3 decades. Wise leaders will do well by knowing what is good for the nation and not what is good for the enemies. Those who can't perform to protect and defend the nation should step down and let the people elect the best leaders to lead, protect and defend the nation from external threats and aggressions. Israel must remain resolute in protecting and defending itself against any entities and states that are hellbent on its destruction. Giving the ravenous wolves an opportunity to usurp Israel's liberated biblical and historic homeland will only lead to a Holocaust on tIsrael, not by prison walls and gas chambers, but by barrages of Russian supplied rockets and Ayatollahs' nuke.
32. Vote of "no confidence"?
Jeff Moccardine ,   Italy   (02.10.08)
Why has this not yet been done? No more appeasers! We need a Zionist leader for ISRAEL.
33. Olmert not just weak, but dangerous!
Jimmy Bornstein ,   New York City   (02.10.08)
Why in G-d's name are Israeli's allowing this poor excuse for a leader to continue in office? Why are Israelis not demonstrating in the streets for his ouster? Your lives are at stake and you are being led down the path of destruction. Olmert you have failed! Go! Now!
34. olmert and god
marcel   (02.10.08)
Jeremy, good article. Winograd's Dror, Olmert, Ramon, hasson are weak and corrupt as hell. Olmert cannot remain one more day as leader, he decieved sharon and others. Barak has also to leave as he is not the right general to take apart gaza . He cannot see really how to do it and we have been waiting since 2 soldiers were lynched in ramallah. Forget it. We have to wait for Yaalon. Dichtor, Mofaz are major disasters for holding Olmert in power and not trying to take him down. Livni lacks courage. Oslo is dead, keep US away.No more deals. Only cold truces like with egypt.Fire rockets into gaza civilians areas and likewise lebanon if they fire at us. In the meantime, build protected areas in all israeli towns. By the time Olmert leaves office and sdertis are through with him, he'll wish he were dead.

Olmert will do nothing. He is a weak pile of trash who has done more to hurt Israel than all of its enemies. He is merde. Ramon is also merde. When Yaalon leads Israel, Hamas and its cousins will be hurt badly and all israelis want to see hamas's blood. They will be damaged severely. Run now and hide in the seea because that's where you are headed as Israel floods your towns..
36. ohlmert
sas ,   israel   (02.10.08)
do not care in the name of what - ohlmert and company must quit NOW. But I do not want to see Mrs. Livni sit in his chair. Things will be worse - if that is possible?????
37. So go already Jeremy - you first
Sheila ,   Jerusalem   (02.10.08)
Jeremy, What on earth are you talking about? You scream for justice then cannot cope when the verdict isn't to your taste! Comparing the PM to Chamberlain, my goodness you are a victim of media hype aren't you?
38. Them's fightin words

Congratulation for having the courage to say what most journalists refuse to say.
39. Despair!

40. #37 Who wants a corrupt inept PM?

Only those who stand to benefit from his redirection of public funds to himself and his friends and those who prefer a weak Israel.

42. it's easier to deconstruct than construct
Miss F.M.Iliar ,   Baghdad, Iraq   (02.10.08)
it's very easy to diss Olmert. It's much harder to find someone who'd be any better. Therefore I say he should stay.
43. Compared to Olmert, Chamberlain was an honourable man
Nannette ,   London   (02.10.08)
44. In the name of God, Go
Louis D. Silver, Q.C ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.10.08)
I agree that Ehud Olmert should go, indeed, he should never have been elected. However the comparison to Chamberlain merely points out that comparing the Israeli Paliamentary system to the British is to compare apples to oranges. And the tradition goes back hundreds of years because the quotation by Jeremy Sharon was actually uttered by Oliver Cromwell in 1653, and was addressed to the rump parliament, which he thereby dismissed.
45. Nos. 5 and 6
Isaac Shladovsky ,   East Windsor, USA   (02.10.08)
What kind of a Doctor is this person who expresses himself in such a vile and dangerous manner? He brings no pride to the institution which granted him a doctorate. As they say in mame loshen, A SHANDE.
46. Response to No. 45
Dr. Reuven Bar-On ,   Israel   (02.11.08)
I retract only one thing I said about Olmert. He is not an idiot. He appears to have the cognitive capacity of what is referred to as an “eloquent psychopath” (in psychiatric slang). However, I stand by everything else that I conveyed about him and his government and challenge you and anyone to refute it. There are presently three to four charges of corruption against 'our' PM. A charge of corruption has been filed against his former Minister of Finance as well, and you might know that 'our' Vice PM (which is quite an appropriate title for him) is a convicted sex offender. His mismanagement of the “disengagement” from Gaza, his mismanagement of the 2006 war between Israel and Hizbala and his current long-standing mismanagement of the continuous bombardment of Shderot and surrounding communities amounts to criminal negligence. Therefore, No. 45, to maintain him in office is both dangerous for Israel and totally irresponsible for the citizens of Israel. He must be removed ASAP to minimize potential future damage and destruction. Moreover, he would be tried for war crimes against his own people in many countries around the world. To express the above in not dangerous No. 45; however, not to express this most definitely is. Additionally, after fighting in 3 wars and living in Israel for more that 40 years, I think I have the right and the responsibility to express these grave concerns. And how about you?! By the way No. 45, my doctorate is in psychology from Rhodes University; should you like to know more about me and my contribution to psychology, you might want to google me. Should you have any additional questions regarding the credibility of what I conveyed or would like to challenge these statements, you are more than welcome if you are able to.
47. Chamberlin, Olmert and Cromwell
Avigdor M'Bawlmawr ,   Baltimore MD USA   (02.11.08)
Actually, the words hurled at Chamberlin were a quotation from Oliver Cromwell when he dismissed the Long Parliament in 1653. That they were spoken by Leo Amerey, a former friend, made them especially bitter. But at least Chamberlin, for all his naivete, had a sense of honor, unlike certain other politicians.
