The US has enough money problems for it to make a situation WORSE by funding Fatah. Much of the money would get diverted to Hamas as a Fatah goodwill gesture (it's happened before) and much of the rest would line the pockets of the Fatah elite. Feh!

Previously Pr. Bush always spoke about bringing democracy for peace. Now, we hear about weaponry and new Police forces... It seems US changed opinion, and learnt from Iraq that for arabs Dictators are better. Unfortunately the US are not right, and they should better think about how to bring hope to people, and save them from people who take the money for their own swiss bank accounts. In summary, money for food and not for weapons. But in my opinion, less money would be better, and send people to learn Pals how ton manage their Economy.

Our Gvt. is such a bunch of fools don't they realize where the money will go? half into the pockets of the crooked politicians and their cronies and the other half to buy weapons to use against Israel and supply the terrorists with bullets guns weapons and bombs. The arabs who live under the PA are complaining that they are starving while printing counterfeit dollars to use in Egypt, while Suha Arafat lives in luxury, while Mahmud Abbas and his buddies wear tailor made suits and sport haircuts worthy of our own Breck Girl John Edwards coiffure.

Not simply add the title peace process in front to justify this unconditional spending on armining and training terrorists. How about first stage is get the politicians to formerly say peace peace and only peace and a complete end to armed resistance, any palestian carrying out a terror attack will be arrested and punished severley not just a short stay in Jericho prison with all the luxuries of home so Abbas can say he is doing something peace must come before anything else terrorists must stop being treated as martyrs. School books & teachers must stop teaching about the glory of jihad and all maps must include an Israel. Speeches given in english must be the same as the ones given in arabic. When we see a little bit of peacemaking politcal action which involves more than going to summits n Annapolis to talk and smile for cameras then we can talk about spending billions to make the security forces better equiped to murder Israelis. Members of theese forces must have background checks and make sure they have no loyalties to any terror group in any way shape or form. The biggest problem with the new Iraq security forces is you dont know who is loyal to who and guns being given to fight terror are used to carry out more terror. That has to be something avoided this time round and if Abbas isnt willing to accept those conditions then let him pay for it himself. Last time we spent money on the PA forces and gave them guns those guns and that training we paid for ended up being used to murder Israelis. Also if the Americans or anybody else want to spend money arming the PA then let them also spend some money for Israel to build things like defensive walls and make a condition of this money is that PA forces are sent to Gaza to stop the rocket attacks not just say we will let Hamas do as they want dont ask us to use these weapons and training to fight Hamas killing Israelis.

Those guns go from the PA to Hamas. Hamas tells Bush that they get their guns by stealing them from the PA. The more they tell him this, the more guns they get.

When are you people going to admit the truth? i.e., that all the money in the world isn't going to create any good will among the Palestinians or help them fight what they choose to support - the Hamas. The US taxpayers have stupid leaders who think that throwing more hard earned tax dollars down the toliets of Ramallah are going to do any good for anyone. The Israeli taxpayers have leaders who all appear to be as brain dead as Arik Sharon. They may as well all be on life support.

Let us pray that this money never reaches or is never used for training Arab armies. The cost of this "training" is going to be much higher than the US thinks.... and the cost will be in Jewish lives.

Why in the world would the US have to pay billions to rebuild a terrroist supporting government? If the Arabs are so concerned on how the Palestinian government is being run then they have the funds to build the infrastructure. We are STUPID for doing this.
