1. I'm Thinking Shitrit is Behind this Article
ys ,   Eretz Yisrael   (02.10.08)
just to stir up the pot.
2. Is it just recogntion?
Meir ,   Beit Shemesh   (02.10.08)
I'm not sure what these religious gay are looking for. Is it recognition? I understand they want to keep the mitzvas but have urges they find difficult to control. I don't really know if they deserve any more sympathy than religious singles who may be unmarried and have to control their sexual urges. To the religious gays, I would recommened the following site http://www.jonahweb.org/index.php JONAH, Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality, is a non-profit international organization dedicated to educating the world-wide Jewish community about the prevention, intervention, and healing of the underlying issues causing same-sex attractions. JONAH works directly with those struggling with unwanted same-sex sexual attractions (SSA) and with families whose loved ones are involved in homosexuality
3. Fear ...no defense?!
Josh   (02.10.08)
Helathy fear is a normal reaction to a threat. Gays threaten to show our children an irresponsible way of gratification that will eliminate the possibility of offspring. Some of us don't want our families to end in this generation and end with such humilation. Yes the humilation that a child would grow to be an irresponsible adult who gives into perversions for gratifications. The fear of not perpetuating normalcy and one's genetic liniage is a good reason to be afraid. The fact that some gays are propositining children is another good reason. To approach them through television and schools and liberal teaching when a child is impressionable. A child can be convinced to do many things. Look what the Palestinians convinve their children to do. Men who cant stop talikng about sex should not be given a voice. This is why the gay agenda and gays on TV should be banned. The fact that Gays teach all people that it is genetic and that every man has closed off his gay desires, only shows how dangerous this thinking is. But probably most important and justifying many things is the fear of G-d and what curses he will bring to a society that does this perversion. If the genertor of this letter were in fact orthodox, he should have admited that it is a sin and that sin brings curses. He should understand the societal fear and find a way to deal with it rather than provoking with media and letters. Proof these men are not about G-d and Torah but validating and selling their sexual compulsions with others. There was a reason why Sodom and Gemorrah had all the men participating and it wasn't genetic. It was social acceptance. Thus asking us to repeat history, is not accpetable and down right scary. Its just about sex and nothing else. Never has been and never will be.
4. Hareidi? Me thinks not
Shalom?   (02.10.08)
The Rabbis they have contacted are from the National Religious world. How does this become Hareidim? These gays wouldn't thank you for being labelled as hareidi, and the hareidim wouldn't thank you either.
5. THE LAST BAD JOKE ! IF THEY ARE GAYS THEY CANNOT BE HAREDI
(02.10.08)
6. They are completely MAD!
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (02.10.08)
How can one say he is ortodox an desire keep being homosexual?? An ortodox with such thoughts would fight against that anomaly and not accept it. An ortodox is supposed to stick in the Torah as much as possible, and in the Torah it is clearly written that what these people do ,and want keep doing ,is FORBIDEN. They can be Jews, but to think they are ortodox is beyond mad.
7. Replace "homosexuality" with "bestiality" and read it.
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (02.10.08)
If it's wrong it's wrong, no matter how someone tries to appeal to sympathy or modernity. Gays can't seem to stay out of everyone's face. What makes them think everyone should embrace their distorted lifestyle?
8. Problem
Truthmonger   (02.10.08)
I am a Gay man struggling with my attraction to women, I realize that this is a contradiction, but I cannot seem to come to terms with these two seperate worlds. Is there a support group out there for people in my situation. Please help as I have been in agony for all these years trying to deal with my attarction to women and my non-attraction to men.
9. they can't be religious if they are gay
(02.10.08)
they have to be straight. the Torah states that theyre an abomination.
10. Baruch , Keren , josh the goy
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.10.08)
If they say they are Orthodox , who are you to say they are not ? Maybe they observe better Jewish laws than many others , They certainly not attack the Rabbanim as this goy josh does . They certainly not agree with the pope's new prayers as this goy does . Well Baruch , Keren and otherrs , you are in good company with this goy . Tell me who are your friends , and i'll know who or what you are
11. Please explain...
(02.10.08)
I,ve read all the pros and cons abut gays. One thing I don't understand....cuntless religous gays have said that they know that the Torah forbids it but they can't help it they were born that way without choice. I am straight, I love woman but I am religous and as much as I'd like to do such and such, I hold myself back because it is forbidden, the same way I hold myself back from eating that delicous lookng non kosher food. If you are religous and want to remain so, what do want the Rabbis to do? Yes, I love you, will not discriminate against you and may even understand you, but I will not condone and sanction homosexual behaviour, simply because it is not my Torah to change.
12. Gays need to find themselves another religion since the
Rivkah   (02.10.08)
Bible clearly condemns homosexual behanvior for the religions of Judaism and Christianity. God hates the sin and those who worship God but do not repent of that sin or other sins are an abomination to the Lord. Gays are welcome to form another religion ourside of JudeoChristian Bible teachings and to wear any outfits they want to wear. They can believe in a gay heaven just as Moslems believe in a Moslem heaven, etc. But Judeo-Christian heaven does not admit gays who have not repented. No one is good but God and all have strayed like sheep: but repentance and a change of heart away from sin is required for Judeo-Christian people. Gays should form another religion instead of trying to change the Bible.
13. Why are you giving gays publicity?
Miriam ,   Israel   (02.10.08)
14. Baruch , Keren and others , i'm sorry
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.10.08)
with this josh you share only this hate of people thinking and living another way than you . Of course you , contrary to him , ARE JEWISH , and i'm sorry if i hurt you by telling he is your friend . This hatefull guy can't be a friend of anyone , sorry again
15. from an ex religious happily gay man
Ex religious ,   TA Israel   (02.10.08)
Although i was once religious (ORTHADOX) as a gay man when i made aliah to Israel, i was constantly aware of the hatred from the ultra orthdadox towards gay men. When i asked a rabbi, first of all he told , we study the Torah and we know that we need to understand the text i.e it is up for interprutation. I was also told, just marry and have discreet sex with guys on the side, which was more common than i imagined. I began to question this and made the descision this was morraly wrong. I realised that i can not associate my self with a religion that is based on hatred for my fellow man and fellow jew and have since removed my kipper and embrassed the secular lifestyle. Being gay is a persons genetic makeup not a life style and not a mental deficency and only by being yourself and accepting your self can you be truly happy. I have now found my happiness in my long term partner and denounced religion completly. if religion does not accept us then we do not accept religion. It is wrong to judge and slander others and enforce the rules of the Torah on people if they do not accept the Torah.
16. very sad indeed. no matter how we look at this
Rivka ,   Ashdod   (02.10.08)
17. next in lin?
eliezer ,   jewrusaleme   (02.10.08)
after they get accepted, we can have the charadi robbers, and then the charadi rapists, then the charadi wife swappers, then the charadi chilonis, then what
18. Gay pride?
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (02.10.08)
It`s like saying: I am proud of having AIDS. Gays are sick people. They should know it and the society should know it. Treatment? It will wait, until geneticians could isolate the gay gene.
19. re: 'it is not my Torah to change.'..
Noam ,   Leeds   (02.10.08)
It is everyone's torah to change. אמר רבי ירמיה תורה לא בשמים היא מאי לא בשמים היא, שכבר נתנה תורה מהר סיני אין אנו משגיחין בבת קול שכבר כתבה בהר סיני בתורה אחרי רבום להטות
20. Trying to explain
Yoni ,   Israel   (02.10.08)
First of all, people like #3: gays cannot make gay sex appealing to your straight children, same as straight people cannot make straight sex appealing to gay people. Your concern that as a result of awareness about gays many straight people will be attracted to their own sex, is absolutely ignorant. Has it ever worked on you? Have you ever been tempted to try it when you heard about gays? No, it's not the way it works, it only would have if you were already gay. So awareness of gay activism can not/will not affect your children, and won't deprive you of grandchldren. And to #11, you are keeping your sexual urges in check, good for you, but you know that eventually you have the right to have a wife- your sex partner, most of your life. I don't think these gays are fighting for having sex every 5 minutes, they, just because of the way they are and cannot change it, can't have a wife without making themselves and her miserable, even if they do what they are supposed to do. So they also want what you have: a possibility of having a life partner they can feel good and natural with, without a need to pretend. OK? gay it doesn't always mean having hundreds of partners and go wild, it just mostly means living the same way you do, except that you were wired to like your own sex rather than opposite. But maybe I am wrong, i don't know, I am not gay, maybe like you think, the difference between them and us is that they are extremely immoral that just like to do nasty stuff that is against Torah. But somehow it seems unlikely to me. But one thing i know #7: the difference with bestiality is that you can't have a consencual sex with animals, you can't say that they feel the same way and are interested, but it's not the same with human beings. Listening to you, you would prefer people doing a straight rape than a gay romance.
21. #15 "removed my kipper"
Ron ,   LA   (02.10.08)
Who knew that theArabs wear 'kipper"
22. The same sick doublespeak
i ,   jerusalem   (02.10.08)
you hear from anarchists and leftists. "we dont want to subvert halacha Yeah right just one huge detail. " we dont want to be delegitimized" i.e. we are legitimate and you have the problem. And they are rejected God? Now God has homophobia? These are sick , infectious lowlifes that should be socially quarantined. The very fact that they approach as group is a problem. In Judaism, if you have a problem with a sin, you keep your mouth shut and deal with it, and take the reccomended paths of tshuva. You seek help as an individual, not redress.
23. # 18 Nora you insult me as a human being
A gay man ,   TA Israel   (02.10.08)
Nora you insult me as a human being, an Israeli and as a jew. Your hatred is based on lack of understanding, ignorance, knowledge or human compassion. And you call me sick? As a gay man in a 10 yr relationship, one who works, pays taxes and defends our country , i find your comments hatefull and an incitment to violence. Every gay teen age suicide is due to people like you .Although you have done me a favor, i shall thank God that i am gay and not like you. is your hatred just confined to gay people or do you hate blacks, indians or anyone else who isnt like you? May God help you!
24. haredi homosexuals seek

26. Satan goes for the BIG SINS
Aviva ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.10.08)
It's not enough to tempt little yeshiva boys with communist tracts, or juicy cheeseburgers or delicious shrimps. The YETZER RA now insists on going straight to the most evil sins.
27. #4 you are mistaken as well
Sammy ,   JERUSALEM   (02.10.08)
Why does it matter which Rabbis they tried contacting???? !!!!!!! If they would have tried contacting Yemenite Rabbanim would that make them Yemenite? Dont turn this into a national religious/mizrachi issue. Lets stay on topic.
28. Again this hatred
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.10.08)
And this from people , mostly religious i think . Do you forget : Ve'ahavta et re'echa kamocha ? You treat them as if they were worse than the greatest enemies we have . Are they trying to kill you ? are they doing missionary work ? are they trying to take your children away from you ? They are only people , Jewish Charidi people , who live another life as most of you . So what ? can't you accept an other way of life ? Who are you to smash them . If they are sinning , well they will be judged , but not by you , there is , for believing people , someone who will do it .
29. #28 Again this hatred
Yaakov ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.10.08)
The most ferocious hatred in this forum is directed AGAINST the religious by the pro-homosexuals, and this insane hatred is whipped up into a delirium by YNET with its constant barrage of anti-religious articles. "charles, petach tikva" is one of the biggest HATERS OF RELIGIOUS JEWS on this board.
