It´s not about printing the freaking cartoons...I actually found them offensive as they were printed in 2005..They mocked peoples´ religion. But as ALL hell broke lose and one of our embassies got torched - and the animals in gaza went beserk in the streets and burnt the Swiss flag thinking it was Danish...I had to agree that this was about defending the strong spirit of freedom that we cherish here in Denmark... The issue now is the planned assasination of one elderly cartoonist by people who sought refuge here...I keep asking myself why the hell did we naively open our doors to those monsters in the first place? It´s got to hit us like several tons of bricks...but at least we can trust our police and the intelligence. Reprinting the one cartoon which is most offensive today, just to prove that we still fight for our freedom of speach is silly and provocative But to you #1 signing yourself with Ivrit letters...not all journalists are "pagan" ( I guess you are arab)

Publishing a vicious cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad has nothing whatever to do with free speech. It is equivalent to publishing a cartoon of the Virgin Mary as a whore. Perhaps irreligious people cannot understand this, but to religious people who love and revere Muhammad as a just, kind, and forgiving man (and a prophet) such behavior is inexplicable and can only be interpreted as deliberate provocation of Muslims resulting from a complete misunderstanding of Islam and a desire to hurt Muslims no matter who they are. Muslims cannot retaliate in kind since they revere the Virgin Mary and Jesus as well as Muhammad.

respect for other faiths - allowing them to practise in Muslim countries then respect would be shown for them. But they don't. They burn your USA flag, the denounce your rights to practise and insult you churches and our synagogues, so they cannot whine when it is resiprocated. There had never been a more tollerant people than the Danes to whom the whole Jewish nation will be for ever thankful for. The Islamic population in Denmark must have really shown no respect to them for them to show such intolleration. The same is happening in most of the European countries. When in Rome, you respect the Roman way. Not change it to suit your faith. If you feel that way why leave your own country?
