Shalit, Regev and Goldwasser are still held. The IDF retreated from Gaza, Hamas has received international legitimacy, thousands of experienced fighters and high quality weapons at its command. Hamas assaults Sderot with impunity knowing that the IDF is terrified to invade. Nasralla also defeated the IDF in Lebanon. Will this translate into a Arab military victory tomorrow? No. But now every Arab boy will grow up knowing that if you stand up to the IDF you can destroy its tanks and helicopters. Israel may win the next war, but it will be much bloodier. Israelis would be better served accepting reality then trying to live in a fantasy where Olmert is more than a complete failure.

Mike, Remember that Olmert stopped the Lebanon 2 attack after 34 days without achieving the major objectives. Hopefully with Winograd and other analysis, actions have been take to correct many fault of the war. But so long as impotent and incompetent Olmert and Barak are in power and working against Israel, this is not the time to engage in another war that may also not achieve its objectives and possibly worse. The UN betrayed their mandate and watched as Hez re-armed and improved their fortifications. The UN did not meet ANY of the objectives that they were tasked with and just the opposite. Our first battle has to be with our govt. that must be brought down and replaced with responsible leadership with fresh new creative minds and ideas.
