1. If you read the Western Media
Mike Jefferson ,   Washington, D.C.   (02.19.08)
One would never know that Israelis are being attacked at all, let alone suffering under daily barrages. All we ever read is how the big, bad Israelis are oppressing the poor innocent Palestinians.
2. Flying Bombs vs Qassams
Brod ,   USA   (02.19.08)
The media likes to use the word Qassam to descrive these flying bombs or missiles or rockets. They are dangerous and have caused untold damage to people, properties and the environment. The government is accountable to protect and defend the nation and country from such attacks. So far, they have failed. Failure to do so means stepping down and paving for the democratic process of electing a government that has the confidence and support of the people. Failure in doing this should lead to impeachment.
3. Support for Sderot's struggle
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (02.19.08)
The inhabitants of Sderot understans that there is no way that the Arabs in particular, and the Muslims in general, can or will accept the permanent existence of a Jewish, that is to say a non-Arab, non-Muslim state, in the heart of what is regarded to be an Arab-Islamic homeland. There is no Muslim leader who would dare to relinquish any portion of the Holy Land, small as it might be, in order to allow the "Jewish infidels" to establish their legitimately, independent presence on it. Palestine, as far as the Muslims are concerned, contains only Muslim holy places and is regarded to be a Muslim, religious endowment. In their eyes, it is exclusively Islamic, and the claim of any non-Muslim to any part of it on historical or religious grounds is false as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/stop-them-with-clear-cut-victory-part-i.html
4. 400 this year = 2,400 for 2008!
Ken ,   SA   (02.19.08)
"Home Front officials told Ynet that some 400 rockets have been fired at the area surrounding Gaza since the beginning of 2008." So 200 rockets per month looks like it will be about 2,400 for the year. Is this doubling of attacks acceptable to government?
5. The Weak Governments
Mordekhai Globman ,   Lakewood, NJ USA   (02.19.08)
The Israeli Governments don't care about us anymore. We should throw them out of the Country and have a new governments that cares and will not give Capital away to the Arabs.. The governments is hurting the nation because we are not doing the right things. We all daven and do chessed and learn Torah... And keep Shabbos and Stop Speaking Loshon Horah..
6. takes two hands to clap
Paul ,   UK   (02.19.08)
Well, if the israeli press/government ever showed what it was like to the world then mayby there wouldnt be such a one sided view. One side you have the threat of rockets, the other side restriction of movement, goods, fuel, constant army personnel, building of homes on seized land. Its a case of picking the lesser of which evil?
7. Sderot & Fortifications
Dr. Evan Miller ,   Ramat Hasharon   (02.19.08)
You're all insane. A country does not exist by "fortifying" itself. Will you "fortify" the grocery, the street, the public gan where children play? Why not just dig tunnels under the ground and live like moles, nice and safe? A normal country attacks its enemies and fights to win so that its citizens can walk the streets freely, sit in their homes and gardens without fear, go to synagogue or the movies and not worry about the nearest shelter. This is NOT what Israel is supposed to be. And the longer it takes for us to do what we must do, the more difficult it will be. Which is a pity, because it will be done. Eventually.
8. and it will stop completly in 2999

Sigfried S. Kuhn ,   Aberdeen   (02.20.08)
I'm so glad that the number of rockets launched against Sderot in 2007 has declined from 2006. Tell that to the 8 year old boy who had his leg amputated after he was hit by shrapnel after one of the feweer rockets exploded near him. I'm sure his parents are relieved.
