I very much agree with the author here. I read where Bush told Olmert to take Gaza , smash Hamas and then give Gaza to Fatah. Let PA fight with Arabs for that purpose - not for Jewish lives to die and be wounded on PA behalf. Did Ab ass ever try or lift so much as a finger to stop terrorists ?
2. Israel will be strong under Torah Law
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Ephraim   (02.20.08)
Israel will be strong under Torah Law, not under knesset law and "democracy". Thast's what Jews are about, dear Professor!
3. Fatah is not different than Hamas.
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (02.20.08)
Fatah is not different than Hamas. The only difference between Fatah and Hamas lies in their preferred strategies for the attainment of the destruction of the Jewish State of Israel. It is a disgrace that the international community does not yet understand that there is no difference in goals of Hamas and Fatah : both are commited to Israel’s destruction. No concessions from Israel can change that fact as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/stop-them-with-clear-cut-victory-part-i.html
4. Hear, hear!
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.08)
Israel's current Fatah-psychosis was spawned in considerable part by Shimon Peres's decision that because Fatah was "secular," it was essentially reasonable and a partner for peace arrangements. "Secular" like those other reasonable, Israel-friendly Arab figures--Gamal Abdel Nasser, Saddam Hussein, Hafez Assad, Bashar Assad....
5. Chelom wisdom
Xaxam ,   Rehovot   (02.20.08)
The principle "enemy of my enemy is my friend" is absolutely wrong in the Middle East, especially in the triangle Fatah-Hamas-Israel. One must definitely stop coddling Abu Mazen and do only what is important for the Israeli security. No arms to any side, no "goodwill gestures", no public embraces. Well, the last couple of things refer only to the Chelom Government, as no other side of this triangle races to embrace Israel or make any gesture towards her.
6. DON'T ENTER GAZA UNDER OLMERT
Israeli ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.08)
Cut off all resources to Gaza. Return the Kassam Fire with full-power artillery strikes that will have the muslim terrorists shaking in their boots until they have no place of refuge to shoot from. Do NOT go into Gaza unless you're willing to annex it and do it properly. These are the opinions of Moshe Feiglin. To find out more about him and the Likud checkout JewishIsrael.org
7. Fatah murdered more than Hamas
sam ,   USA   (02.20.08)
These moderates murdered 241 USMarines,USAmbass.to Sudan,3 consular officials in Gaza, destroyed 21 Jewish Houses of Prayer+thousands more
8. olmert and fatah
marcel   (02.21.08)
Olmert told klein that he was going to remove 70,000 settlers in the west bank. Even though fatah is steeped in culture of terror and cannot make peace, Olmert will forge ahead and leave it to the IDfg to deal with rockets in tel aviv and jerusalem. He really is not concerned about it. Olmert looks at gaza and feels that the withdrawal was a good thing. Barak left lebaonon and we got hezbollah and rockets. Olmer twithdrew from gaza(pushed sharon to do it) and we got more rockets from gaza. Are israelis stupid? Rip Olmert out of his house, go there now at night and throw him out of his house. Shas can go to hell admiring their messiaha, the imbecile Yoseph, the moneygrubber.
9. puppet governmaent never work
Ehud ,   Rehovot   (02.21.08)
Unlike president Peres, I believe that one can learn from history. One must, however, modify things since the environment constantly changes. One of the exceptions is the case of forming a puppet government. This was tried many times before (including several times by Israel – e.g. Bashir Jumaiel) and never succeeded. The insane idea of bringing FATACH to power in Gaza using Israel soldiers lives will lead to A Fatach puppet government that will later collapse leaving Israel with no territories and with a cruel enemy less than 10 miles from its major cities. Only a government occupied with personal survival problems can consider such a criminal thing.
