2. Iranians protesting modesty police
Millicent ,   Israel   (02.25.08)
Congrats tp the Iranian women and their supporters for their couragous actions against radicalism! Perhaps this action will inspire the Iranian people to rise up against those in power and rid themselves of the religious oppression that they have been suffering under! Power to the people!
3. Ahmadinejad and nuclear power.
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (02.25.08)
To understand why Ahmadinejad has chosen his dangerous path, one must understand his origins. In his youth, the Iranian president was a member of the basij, a radical paramilitary movement built by Khomeini at the onset of the Revolution. Literally translated as “Mobilized Resistance Force,” the basij became a zealous arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) where devotion and sacrifice were the basis of “human wave” surges during the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988), leading to hundreds of thousands of senseless deaths. Khomeini taught that survival of the fighters was irrelevant; they were participating in a battle for Allah, which was to provide ultimate fulfillment and gratification. Thus, when Ahmadinejad entered public life, first as the mayor of Tehran and then as head of state, he injected basiji irrationality into politics. In the name of revolution, Ahmadinejad seeks to achieve Iranian grandeur via nuclearization, and to fearlessly spread anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial, even if leads to war as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/nuclear-power-and-anti-semitism.html

Talula ,   Israel   (02.25.08)
She got beaten for being 'inappropriately dressed". This woman is the strongest figure in Iran right now. She stood tall. She, is amazing. The birth of a new Iran is nigh.
7. Without a picture of what is deemed unnacceptable...
Yitzchak ,   Yerushalyim   (02.25.08)
Without a picture of what is deemed unnacceptable it is bit hard to make response that is in line with Jewish values we can hardly condemn others for we ourselves consider immodest.
8. RE: #7 Yitzchak
Gilan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.25.08)
Yitzchak, With all due respect, do you think it is appropriate to beat a woman because you don't like what she's (not) wearing?
9. #7
Talula ,   Israel   (02.25.08)
Blah Blah! Why do you need to see a picture of her 'inappropriate dress' who are YOU to judge if she is dressed inappropriately? Even if she was sauntering down the high street with a dental floss thong on, she did not deserve to get beaten for it. It's time for people like YOU and those in Iran to move out of the dark ages and stop judging others with your distorted and somewhat medieval views. You cringe worthy bunch of misfits.
10. WELL STATED YITZCHAK............#7
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (02.25.08)
This is exactly what people like Scott(#1) has to appreciate. But he looks for excuse of using his head inappropriately.
11. CIA's 100 M USD allotment pays little!You should send more!
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (02.25.08)
CIA was given 100 million USD to stir up such events and it proves no sufficient payback is achieved. You just spend 100,000,0000 USD and only get such a weak and funny event. If you want reality just go and see how popularly chosen Ahmedinejat. He will even more popular now and get more votes. By the way this EVEN DEMONSTRATE THAT HOW IRAN SHOWS DEMOCRATIC TOLERANCE IN IRAN to PUBLIC VOICES. Very democratic !
12. INTERNAL IRANIAN INSTABILITY EXPLAINS THEIR VENOM
stude ham   (02.25.08)
imadiinerjacket and his henchmen mullahs rail against israel because their tyranical and murderous regime is crumbling. read orwell's 1984 to understand why.
13. Trouble in Ahmadinejad's [aradise
Johnson ,   USA   (02.25.08)
I do hope the good people of Iran who want to live in peace with the world, and build a real future for their chidren rise up, and throw the ruling class who have grown rich and fat from stealing Irans wealth out of power. The sooner the better.
14. #10 Mahmood living in the UK
Talula ,   Israel   (02.25.08)
No-one in the UK is going to beat anyone senseless because they are not dressed according to the law of the land. If you are all for that sort of vile despicable behaviour, why don't you take a flight to Iran, unpack, and stay there. Or are you enjoying the sweet air of freedom in the UK too much.
15. "inappropriate dress" in Iran
umm danny ,   Israel   (02.25.08)
The current rulers of Iran permit harassment of Iranian female citizens in public for anything they choose. Its a hopeful sign that the Iranian public is beginning to show disgust with this distorted and undemocratic behaviour, and increased persecution of women.
16. Studeham's correct.
Ypip ,   Canada   (02.25.08)

17. Let the revolution begin!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (02.25.08)
18. Iranian hatred of women and gays
petra ,   USA   (02.25.08)
Will they hang women in public also for being dressed inappropriately? I'll bet a nickle to a donut that Irans PM is gay and hates this fact to be known. They should hang him in public and make the Irainians happy for once. Does he have a wife? Probably not. But, there's probably a young boy in HIS closet.
19. this is great news!

20. IRAN: JUST SUCH A FUN PLACE TO BE :-)
Scott   (02.25.08)
SEE YA THERE SOON , PARDNER! (BE EARLY NOT MISS THE HONOR KILLINGS & GAY HANGINGS...WHY NOT TRY OUT FOR THE MODESTY POLICE?)
21. Iranian gov has solved ALL people's problems, and now...
Persian CAT   (02.25.08)
the only thing left is how people dress! The extremist ruling Iran organize these kind of harrassments everyonce in while not becasue they are concerened about enforcing "Islamic" dress, but to gauge whether people are afraid of them or not. All signals point to the direction that after 30 years the ruling mullahs have failed to whip the Iranian people into subjugation. This is also a good lesson for the US and Israeli jihadis that they cannot intimidate Iranians to abandon thier national rights. Its time for all opperssors, the Islmic government, the US government and the Israeli government to let the Iranian people alone or pay dearly for bullying them.
22. MISGUIDED TALULA.......#14
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (02.25.08)
Taula, dont wory about me being in UK.We are talking about an Islamic State.Immoral behavious invites proper counter action by relevant authorities.Anyway,if you have any belief in any religion please spare some time to find out what moral standard does your religion calls for.If you have any, that is.
23. Believe me - we don't want this religion!
Ardeshir ,   Iran, Tehran   (02.26.08)
I have seen the video and i believe it is authentic. We Iranians hate this non-iranian religion (aka Islam) that we never wanted and was forced to us by occupying Arabs in 7th century. Iranians want their country back from terrorists and they will succeed with no doubt.
24. The Iranian Regime
Not Jewish ,   USA   (03.12.08)
The Persians are trying to out Muslim the Arabs to show they are the true guardians of Islam. Islam at it's core suffers from insecurity and shows it, feeling threatened by a woman.
