"Why children have to pay the price" you ask......because of the ego of man! If the world was ruled by women then first of all there would NOT be a religion called ISLAM!!

I know people are settled in Sderot and have their homes and their way of life...but this is not any way of life right now. A begger on the street in Tel-Aviv is in a better position than that of a Sderot resident. I know, if I were a resident of Sderot, I would take my kids wherever it is that involves a safe environment. During the gulf war I was not still once. I shlepped my kids to wherever was safer....and eventually to Canada. In truth, my kids are more sacred to me than any country and for the price of one of my children losing their limb or their life, I would move to the ends of the earth to prevent something from happening to them and to know that at least I have done whatever I can do for my kids. I guarantee any of the Sderot parents that their children would not complain if they upped and left to a safer environment. If I were a kid I would be frantic with my parents for not protecting me. Why put them in a vulnerable position? Who cares about bravery when the kids are paying for it? Who cares about being a hero when people are dying? Who cares about patriotism at this point when ones life is in jeapardy? If it's not today it can be tomorrow or the next day. Prevention is the best method of protection I think.
8. War Against Sderot is War Against ALL Jews!
Nannette ,   London   (02.26.08)
The Israeli government must DO more to stop these attacks, and not just talk about them. It's time for the government of Israel to support JEWS instead of making never ending concessions to our enemies.

Our kids learn how to endure from Pallie kids? Do you mean making speeches at kindergarten about killing and becoming shaheeds. Jewish children sing 'chad gadya' and songs of peace while Arab children sing of killing Jews. Mybe you are right, maybe if we teach our kids to hate them as we teach out kids to hate usm we will breed a new generation of Jews that can stand up for themselves.

you can contact the community center 08-6611555, or sderot@matnasim.org.il. Avi Sulimany is director, they have many needs and I am sure any offers will be appreciated. Please stay away from large outside organizations and work with the locals so that those without political connections can get help.

13. Learn from the Palestinian kids
Roslyn ,   Tel Aviv   (02.26.08)
G-d forbid! what will the Israeli kids learn - to become suicide bombers! to quote Golda Meir, when the Arab mothers love their children more than they hate the Jews, there will be peace all over the world.
14. New Middle East
Reuven ,   Ramat Aviv, Israel   (02.26.08)
Didn't Shimon Peres promise us a "New Middle East" back in 1993 when he capitulated to Arafat? Little Yossi, like Osher Twitto before him, has paid the price for Peres's arrogance and incompetence. If we Israelis had any self-respect we should demand that Peres move to Sderot as long as rockets keep raining on it.

Really, where can we go anymore? The north & center is within hezbo's range & the south under hamas range. We're becoming like fish in a barrel with no place to run & hide. But LoL Mert & company are building their doomesday bunker outside Jerusalem city entrance while Sderot reduces to rubble. After WW2, jews blamed silence of the world. Now the Israeli "leaders" are even worse.
16. Comfort and Peace
Emanuel ,   Pakistan   (02.26.08)
I want to say many harsh words to those who have done this and destroyed life of many innocent children. BUT I would like to say that there is a God and He cares. I understand the sufferings brought by radical muslims but I want to tell anyone who is reading this that God lives and He will judge everyone according to his deeds. Today, after 6 years the people who killed 6 christian NGO workers in Karachi, Pakistan are brought to justice. I hope one day the murderes of innocent children in Israel will be brought to justice too.

Dara ,   Israel   (02.26.08)
Have you ever thought that perhaps people can't afford to send their children to another place? Not everyone can ship children all over the world nor should they have to. Our government should be protecting these children by any means necessary. Comments such as yours, as well intended as they may be, are not helpful.

Your are right. That religion as well as the Taliban were created to have women over control. Think about it.
19. Sderot’s war children by Anat Meidan
Peter Sachs ,   Amsterdam , Holland   (02.26.08)
When children cry the world should cry. I wish the family all the strength of the world. These are the real victims of wrong decisions. I have the hope that the light will shine again and show the way too eliminates this pain. You Anat are a good person which can transmit the feeling of AHAVA.
20. Sderot's war Children
Millie ,   Israel   (02.26.08)
The children of Sderot need to be protected....as do their families, build the shelters for those that chose to remain, and help those that want to leave to obtain affordable housing in a safer area. The Gov should sponsor respite trips for the families of Sderot for a week or so to give them some down time. The Gov also needs toput a stop to the Kassams once and for all! May G-d Bless all the children from Sderot and their famililes and keep them safe!

Roxy ,   Haifa ,Israel   (02.26.08)
I also moved my 2 kids out of harms way during the Lebanon summer war,I could only move them as far as Atlit, but it was safer than being in Haifa which had daily rocket attacks. I had to stay in Haifa foor medical reasons, but when the war restarts this time I plan to take my kids and get them further away to the States where they will be safe, My kids had night mares afterwards for about a month, my son was afraid to be home alone, afraid of loud noises... my daughter was also clingy and they are teens! So I think the parents of Sderot should give their kids the choice to stay or move to a quieter area until the Gov steps up and does something to stop the attacks!
22. How many more victims does this government need ?
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (02.26.08)
Last April, the Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Ashkenazi told the government at a cabinet meeting that "the only solution to continued Palestinian rocket fire into the western Negev is to implement a ground incursion into the Gaza Strip." However, the IDF is continuing to implement a policy of targeted airstrikes against terrorist cells and leaders in the Gaza region. Israel has not only the right, it has the duty to defend its citizens as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/international-law-and-gaza-assault-on_31.html
23. Emotional
Avi ,   USA   (02.26.08)
This is an emotional piece. I completely agree with Anat. I wish though that she would have mentioned (and we should not forget) that the same applies to the Palestinian children many more of whom are wounded or killed in this conflict.
