1. Unless To Give Justice, Why Meet Kidnappers?

There is no living person to return. Shalit is dead and the terrorists keep using his memory as a weapon to mentally torture the living. Unless justice is being served to the kidnappers, i.e. death sentences, what is the purpose of the meeting?

Instead of Pharaoh Olmert's policy of protecting the Hamas terror chiefs and only allowing the IDF to target the lackeys, start knocking off the top bosses of Hamas one by one. The fat coward Haniyeh will send Shalit home safely before you can say "third-party negotiations" or "seventy virgins".

and puts a bullet in Shalit's brain to return the favor to Israel. I like the private lawyer idea. Something, or anything to kick the puck loose and get negotiations moving forward. Again, what we see here is both an attempt by HAMAS to retain the humanitarian issue here. And while the argument can be made that kidnapping Cpl. Shalit and holding him hostage with a death threat over his head is cruel and inhumane, the actions of HAMAS over the past two years have been a damn sight better than the actions of Hizballah in regards to Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser. The sooner Shalit's brought home the better. The sooner Regev and Goldwasser are brought home, the better too.
