I am curious to know where all of you are getting your information from. Is it a fact that funds are being diverted from other purposes to Shas? It would make sense that budgets are allocated to each ministry after which those funds are divided among different parties. Does Israel's yearly budgetary allocation work differently? Furthermore, the article claims that these funds were agreed on as part of the party's coallition agreements. That would seem to mean that they were arrived at when the new government came into power, or am I misunderstanding? There is such hatred in these talkbacks, but it really seems that the haters are reacting emotionally without knowing the facts.

Where are you getting your facts from? Why do you claim that secular tax payers' monies are supporting this funding? Do you honestly believe that no Shas people pay taxes? Can you support your ridiculous assumptions with factual information?

Why are you so worried about the lack of English and Math skills in Shas students? It is well known that when Charedi students go out to work, they are able to master these subjects with no problem due to the years they have studied gemara. You are right. Isn't it a pity that Shas has to stay in the government to ensure their institutions will receive funding? Surely, this should not be the case!
