colin   (02.29.08)
Again the egomaniac defence minister has nothing to say.He does not care for the people of Israel. He wants votes ! ! He does a few sightseeing trips af sderot and askelon but quickly returns to his palace in the center for safety.Aiways talks B/S and thinks the nation listens.Get rid of this fool with the corrupt olmert. How many more deaths do they want.Shas needs the money for prayers at the mourning ceremony,so they stay with the government.Elections will get rid of them all.
4. What? No one taking responsibility??
Gideon Reader ,   In the USA   (02.29.08)
Howzat "Disengagement" thing working out? Kadima. Kadima! KADIMA? You still there? Just think. What "disengagement" has done for Gaza, will be even better for Judea/Samaria. (That ought to bring the Kassam firebase close enough to hit the beach of Tel Aviv. Anyone at Olmert or kadima HQ feel ANY responsibility for this disaster? I have it. Blame it on Sleeping Beauty Sharon.
5. It Just Doesn't Get Better
Zardoz   (02.29.08)
Everyone is saber rattling, no voices of reason.
6. what rhymes with criminal negligence?

There once was a man named Barak He claimed he was tough as a rock When danger was near He said "never fear " I'll defend you with my endless talk
7. If you want to shoot, shoot don't talk SHOOT!!!
Jacquot ,   T.A   (02.29.08)
8. Barak's meaningless warnings....
David Hes ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.29.08)
He, Barak, warns Hamas over and over again but that is all it amounts to. Even if he strikes back, it will be marginal and it will not stop Hamas. This is war Mr. Defense Minister and the sooner you realize this the sooner it will come to an end. Strike Hamas to WIN and end their aggression once and for all.
9. Stupid.. and no deterrence
Michel ,   Jerusalem   (02.29.08)
You would repeat it thousand of times ... and no action.. SHAME !!
10. Stop talking - do it
Alex ,   Demona   (02.29.08)
11. Hamas will bear consequences
observer   (02.29.08)
So, Barak is going to eliminate first the inevitable human shield in the densely populated Gaza. Then, he can get Hamas. It sounds like a good military tactic.
12. y'all know that bugs bunny episode;
but HERE ,   it's different, REAL   (02.29.08)
where he says (after each line is consecutively crossed by yosemity sam)," . . alright, then I dare you to step over THIS line, oh, okay, what about THIS line, and then, THIS line, . . ."(etc)
13. ONLY 15 MILES MORE TO TA!!!
BIG BAD ,   TORONTO   (02.29.08)
If that is what it takes to rid us of this horrible, incompetent and corrupt leadership,(SHAS INCLUDED), I say BRING IT ON QUICKLY!!!! For the sake of the future of the Medina, can't wait to eliminate for the good citizens of Isreal the real existential threat , (those in the coalition who currently warm their "tooshies" in the seats of the KNESSET ) ASAP!!!
14. residents of sderot and ashkelon
chaim ,   brooklyn n.y   (02.29.08)
i am sure that you are aware by now, that this criminaly insane traitorous government has abandoned you,and will not defend your cities, your only hope is that eventually the terrorist swines, will perfect their rockets and soon enough will be able to reach jerusalem, and lets all pray that the first rocket that reaches jerusalem, hits the knesset, and takes out this criminal traitorous leadership, maybe then something will be done to defend you
15. Barak will follow Sharon soon !
(02.29.08)
16. Of mice and men....
David Hes ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.29.08)
Israel, you should feel the shame. You are afraid to face the enemy. You are afraid to protect yourselves. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Jews can't afford to be afraid. Our enemies and the world now realizes that Israel is afraid of keeping their freedom for fear of loss of lives in a confrontation with the enemy. Our forefathers were not afraid - they fought and fought to win. Have you Israel, turned into mice??? Where are the men of Israel. Where are the leaders??? Rise up and demand a safe homeland because at this rate it is not land for peace but rather land for death.
17. Olmert and his ilk fiddle, Israel burns
Joe Kaufman ,   formerly Jerusalem   (02.29.08)
Remember the promises made to Israel that attacks from Gaza would be spark a devasting response that the world would understand? This idiocy was forced down the gullible throats of the Israeli public while Jews were thrown from their homes and abused by incompetent government officials. Now Barak claims they will take action not because Sderot is under attack, those monkeys don't count, but because other coastal cities are now being bombarded given that you can't count on Israeli governments to maintain Israel's deterrence. Why aren't Israeli's trashing the Knesset to get these bums and traitors out of office? Maybe Israeli's deserve the government they have being so willing to be led like sheep to the slaughter. The mind boggles. So glad I got out before I had to witness this debacle up close. Impeach Olmert and his perfidious cronies. It'll soon be too late. These clowns can't lead us in war to victory, only defeat.
18. Now is the time
Mike Cato ,   USA   (02.29.08)
to act. The first step being that the military take power from Olmert and his gang of nitwits. For international PR reasons, the Nitwits will remain in "power" only as a facade. In the long run, Israel, fighting guerilla force with guerilla force (backed by the air force and high-tech weapons) must eliminate the political infrastructure of Hamas, Jiihad, etc. Once this is done, Israel may (let us hope ) open its borders once again to free trade, business, travel, etc with Gaza. Total elimination of Hamas, etc is the stick, open borders is the carrot. Israel must now act to make this "an offer they cannot refuse."
19. Barak: Hamas will bear consequences of Gaza escalation
Daniel ,   Israel   (02.29.08)
You will act? Or only issue warnings? You have best army in the world at your disposal, and you are not able to scilance the rat called Hammas! It is a shame.
20. How many more victims does this government need ?
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (02.29.08)
Last April, the Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Ashkenazi told the government at a cabinet meeting that "the only solution to continued Palestinian rocket fire into the western Negev is to implement a ground incursion into the Gaza Strip." However, the IDF is continuing to implement a policy of targeted airstrikes against terrorist cells and leaders in the Gaza region. Israel has not only the right, it has the duty to defend its citizens as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/international-law-and-gaza-assault-on_31.html
21. What's first ???
(02.29.08)
The egg or the chicken .... endless story .... what's going on is the same story ... who started first and who has to stop first .
22. BARAK: ALL TALK, NO ACTION
Lev   (02.29.08)
23. consequences
colin   (02.29.08)
Big talk for a coawardly egomaniac.Barak says" hamas will bear the consequences " Hamas has nothing to fear==.Barak is all talk.He is looking for votes. He does not care for the people except to get votes. He will do nothing but continue talking B/S Like his partner the corrupt olmert Israel will suffer until the people take matters in thier own hands.
24. Why don't you do it ??
Ali ,   Gaza   (02.29.08)
You have the power to erase Gaza from existance, I don't think your ethics or moralities will prevent you to do it . It is God willing, God who planted terror and fear in your hearts!!!.
25. #12, also two other Bugs Bunny episodes
Sadhasiv ,   Washington DC, USA   (03.01.08)
One of them the version of "Jack & Beanstalk" involving Bugs, Daffy and a gigantic Elmer. Bugs trips Elmer and escapes (stealing one huge carrot from Elmer's garden as he does so) while Daffy driven by greed won't leave without the gold--and winds up working in Elmer's watch! Other is the one where Daffy wakes up a genie who warns him "prepare to face CONSEQUENCES", to which Daffy replies "consequences, monsequences--so long as i'm rich"--and then gets shrunken down to about the size of a bullet-ant. "Palestinians", including Hamas, are a lot like Daffy--they refuse to take responsibility and then complain when they actually suffer the consequences (or even a reduced set thereof--noticeable that "Palestinans" have not suffered the consequences of their lack of remorse at their first "leader's" openly covenanting with Hitler).
26. How to prevent additional rocket attacks
matt ,   usa   (03.02.08)
