1. Gaza wants war
Tony ,   Johannesburg   (03.01.08)
It should be clear to any logical person that by firing thousands of rockets and attacking Israel at every opportunity, Hamas and the Palestinians have commited a clear act of war. There is no country in the world that would ever show the restraint of Israel. This is a similar situation to Hizbollah when it fired thousands of rockets at Israeli homes, hospitals and schools from Lebanon. Israel has no choice but to respond to this act of war this war from Gaza. As with Hizbollah, fanatical Iran is supporting Hamas with grad rockets, money, training and equipment. I visited Gaza years ago - it used to be peaceful until the criminals took over.
2. The city of Ashkelon.
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (03.01.08)
Ashkelon is a beautiful little seaside city of 100.000 inhabitants. Life in Ashkelon was always peaceful and pleasant. Will the Israeli government permit the lot of Ashkelon to become as the one of Sderot or will the government react efficiently against the criminals of the Gaza Strip? The main target of the terrorists are the civilian population. The presence of the press on the battle field and the Geneva Chart are luxuries that a land in war cannot efford. We should fight with all means in order to win as described at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/02/new-war_01.html
3. No one in my house heard any tseva adom
Ricki ,   Ashkelon   (03.01.08)
...not even the dog....all 7 of us were sleeping. maybe it's better this way?
4. I had an early warning!
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (03.01.08)
From my CAT. who usually wants to go out at 3am. This morning he came in, woke me up and ran into our lounge and hid under the coffee table! The warning came and whoosh the rocket wizzed over. I think I will rely on my cat when at home, he came in a few minutes before the last warning and laid on the lounge floor. It give me lots more time to get to safety. (Except when I'm out of course). WHEN are we going in ????? perhaps we should let the IDF take over the whole country, gather up the fat cats in the Kenesset and put them over the border, then go in full force? Shall we get a petition going for that????
5. Palestinians take advantage of Israel stupidity
Dan Alter ,   Paris France   (03.01.08)
Continue to tell them where qassam are dropped, they need this intelligence information in order to make their salvo more efficient!
6. Why they Killed 5 months old ....
Mohammad Ali ,   Gaza / Palestine   (03.01.08)
43 Palestinian Arabs killed by Israel smart missiles or Tank shells fired from far ....US media don't report these crimes ...5 months old Mohammad el Burri is killed by an Israeli missile fired at his house ....WHY ?
7. #6 in answer to your ?
vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (03.01.08)
1. That inocent infant was killed by a qasssam that misfired. 2. Why do you want to kill and maim our babies. by constanstantly allowing your people to fire over 7000 rockets at us? 3. Why should ALL civilians be the target of those who represent both. The only people making out of this are your Leaders, and the UN, US, Russia, who supply the weapons to fire at each other. Do you think we don't weep for your children as well as ours?
8. dear #6....when your "leaders" stop...
Ricki ,   Ashkelon   (03.01.08)
firing rockets at us,we will stop firing at you. Sort and sweet.
9. context of rocket attacks
alan ,   Cape of Good Hope   (03.01.08)
Why are the rocket attacks escalating now? As in the past when Clinton ran the show and sent his secretary of state over as frequently as a shopping trip to the Gap, the rockets are escalating now because Rice is due next week. This fact is cited by some as a reason to not strike back hard now. As long as the Hamasnicks know they will not be punished when a US Secretary of State is due soon, there will always be a rise in Palestinean violence in anticipation of the free lunch. The remedy is to lay down a new doctrine called "no diplomatic immunity." Any time any place the Hamas forces want to try to kill innocent Israeli civilians in their homes, the Prime Minister ought to announce the IDF will be authorized to shell deep into the territory, especially targeting the homes of all of the Hamas leadership until all the homes are detroyed. It may drop the land values around the leaders homes and it should.
10. Mohammad Ali........ Gaza / Palestine
(03.01.08)
first of all, my friend, I am happy to see, that the bad lsraelis havenĀ“t cut off your electricity as you claim...so far for honesty the second question is easy answered, remember the 10yr old boy in Sderot who lost his legs from your missiles ? sooooooooooooo, you stop shooting missiles at lsrael and we have a basis for deescalation wasalaam habibi
11. When the pals stormed in Egypt
vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (03.01.08)
They did not come back with food and fuel for cooking. They came back with weapons and the means to make them because we kept finding their ammunition tunnels dug under the noses of the Egyptians on one side and filled in by us on the other. The world media as usual made it look like a survival trip. Thats how they managed to escalate the firing of the qassams and more sophisticated weapons. Courtesy of Egypt and the morons making money by selling the bags of fertilizer that is the basic ingredient. They are fired by youths, with their younger brothers and sisters in tow. Watching and hopefully killed by your boys who are trying to prevent the deaths of children. Ironic that life is of so little importance to THEM.
12. Is This What Arabs Want: Universal Desolation?
emanon ,   USA   (03.01.08)
What was the first thing the Arabs did when Gaza was handed over to the terrorists? They tore everything down and burned it. What was a beautiful area was totally devastated. Now what do these same terrorists do? Launch rockets into populated Israeli cities seeking to turn them into rubble. Hmm . . . This strategy sounds familiar: an overwhelming nation sought to terrorize a smaller nation by raining rockets down on it. Where did this happen . . . let me think . . . Oh yes, that's right . . . Nazi Germany tried it on England in WWII. We know how that one turned out, don't we?
13. 'Why did they throw Qassams at us?'
(03.01.08)
sooner or later the "Palestinians" will have to be re-housed to Sudan & Saudi Arabia
14. victimhood and the propaganda war
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.01.08)
the arabs seem to want to have it both ways: they've been saying for over 70 years that they want to kill all the jews, but it is they who are the victims. jordan comprises 78% of the land area called "palestine", and has more than enough room to accommodate all current and future "palestinians", in a peaceful and safe country, but it seems that they don't want these troublemakers, even if they are their own people. the arab palestinians are the only "hereditary refugees: in the world. 60 years later, they, their children, and their grandchildren are still in "refugee camps" and receiving international aid. where are the hundreds of thousands of hungarian refugees from 1956? why aren't they still sitting in camps and demanding the "right of return"? but this is a propaganda war, where lies and not truth are important weapons, and it seems that israel is fighting, badly, against a massive coordinated arab assault.
15. to #6 Mohammed in Gaza
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (03.01.08)
We (Jews) are not violent people. You (Arabs) force us to be violent. If you stop shooting at us, we will stop shooting at you. We don't really have any ill will. We just want you to leave us alone. You could have built Singapore in the Middle East, but you chose war instead.
16. Borrowed this from another poster
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (03.01.08)
http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/92.htm Article 28 The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations. Article 29 The Party to the conflict in whose hands protected persons may be is responsible for the treatment accorded to them by its agents, irrespective of any individual responsibility which may be incurred. So the fact is that by hiding between civilians it is HAMAS who bears responsibility not Israel and the fact that Israel is putting it's soldiers beyond any normal level of danger in that and other situations is completely unacceptable.
17. Hamas aggressions
Brod ,   USA   (03.01.08)
Hamas chose to attack Israel. They could have chosen to stop attacking Israel, disarm and live in peace. But they chose the path of aggressions. Hence, let them bear the consequences of their aggressions. This will open their minds and see the futility of their aggressions-Jihadism on Israel.
18. Yeah I guess operations in
Al ,   Jerusalem   (03.01.08)
Gaza has paid off and now we no longer live with the threat of Qassams! Am I the only one who see Lebanon war 2 repeating it self again?

chaim ,   miami beach usa   (03.02.08)

20. one minute delay can be disasters

Jamil ,   UAE   (03.02.08)
to all those who replied that if Palestinians stop missiles, Israel will do the same, actually it should be Israel to withdraw from occupied palestine and things be fine.. isn't it???
24. Actually Jamil #23
vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (03.02.08)
We have left their territory, its obviously not enough for them. They should therefore demand from Jordan what was originally theirs. If it was good enough for you Prophet to marry Jewish Girls whoand recognise Israel and Judea, why is not it good enough for YOU?
