2. Disaster
Salomon Mizrahi ,   Sao Carlos/SP/Brazil   (03.02.08)
The point is that Israel political echelon is a disaster, it mixes incompetence with cowardice
3. Here it is stated clearly in the 4th Geneva Conventions
(03.02.08)
Art. 28. The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations. Art. 29. The Party to the conflict in whose hands protected persons may be, is responsible for the treatment accorded to them by its agents, irrespective of any individual responsibility which may be incurred. http://www.icrc.org/ihl.nsf/FULL/380?OpenDocument
4. First time he's offering them something other then more land
LEE ,   NY, USA   (03.02.08)
After the war he'll likely offer to rebuild the whole area on Israeli's tax money and give them all of Jerusalem just for goodwill. I doubt anyone takes this guy seriously anymore. Except Olmert of course.
5. Zionists: No anomaly in history goes uncorrected

7. as long as olmert is PM israel will never win a war
chaim ,   brooklyn n.y   (03.02.08)
IDF,as long as this criminaly insane, delusional coward, ehud olmert is your leader, you have no chance of winning this war,you are just wasting your lives for absolutely nothing, get rid of this cowardly idiot, and replace him with a prime minister who cares and loves his country, instead of the enemy, and then go to war and completely crush these terrorist swines
8. The Gazan “innocent civilians”
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (03.02.08)
Are the Gazans “innocent civilian victims” ? A recent rally proves that Gazans stand with Hamas, terrorism. “Jews! We have already dug your graves,” declared Hamas official Mushir al-Masri at a half-million strong rally of support for Hamas in Gaza’s central square. The Hamas official was joined by the terrorist group’s top brass, some via teleconference, at a massive show of support for the Islamist movement that unequivocally broadcast a message of support for terrorism and the ongoing war with the Jewish state among Gaza’s Arabs. “ Estimates ranged from 250,000 to 500,000. The Gulf Times reported “at least 500,000” while others reported “from 300,000-500,000.” The New York Times, Associated Press and AFP agreed that the rally was much larger than a Fatah rally held earlier this month, which was reportedly attended by 250,000 as described at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2007/12/gazans-stand-with-hamas-terrorism.html
9. WE HAVE TO CHECK WITH LAWYERS TO FIGHT A WAR?????

tough luck, but your infrastructure will be entirely destroyed in the next weeks.
12. Have you ever thought of this?
Mike Jefferson ,   Washington, D.C.   (03.02.08)
Since missiles are being shot at Askelon and Sderot daily and Israel is being blamed at every turn for disporportionate response, why not pull the IDF back and arm your citizens in these towns with missiles of their own? Everytime a Paleonazi fires one off at Israeli cities, let the residents fire a handful back. Citizens defending their homes and no disproportionate response. See how long the Paleo’s would be shooting off missiles.
13. To #9 Not lawyers, judges you fool!!!
Jeffrey ,   Boston, USA   (03.02.08)
14. targeting civilians where NO launch sites exist
mazen ,   usa   (03.02.08)
So the IDF ("Israeli defeated forces) are not "firing back" yet? How 103 Palestinians (39 of them children -I believe those ARE civilians) were killed already by "Israeli" fire? I can understand one thing of this: That the "Israeli" army is not firing back at "launch sites located in civilian areas", but targeting civilian areas where there is NO launch sites, and thus killed 39 children in their homes, injured 49, in less than 5 days.
15. #5 Exactly dear. IDF is correcting this anomaly now.
YA ,   UK   (03.02.08)
16. the real question, ramon,
oded   (03.02.08)
is why you are not in jail, and plus who resigned and put you in charge of israel's security,ya gournisht! resign in shame , and take smartutmart with you, 2 kunilemels!
17. The hell with the law!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.02.08)
The whole purpose of this is to stop the rockets. If we have to kill thousands of civilians, who cares? We have to protect our own civilians at any cost to the enemy. The more the palis bleed, the less they will use violence against us.Enough being nice guys and let us destroy the enemy before they destroy us.
18. Killing fields of Gaza
Gadees ,   Vanco.   (03.02.08)
To#3 My Advice is that you drop the Convention nothing in all of its Articles favour the Israeli bogrom against Palestinians.
19. to oded
ayda ,   jerusalem   (03.02.08)
yes friend ,when a one do any thing without shame or punishment . he will talk evrything without shame or fear .. and his mouth is like that ,no shame no fear //sad to the civilians here or there in gaza with leaders without shame without fear
20. #17 the law not only permits us
mother of four ,   Israel   (03.02.08)
to defend ourselves but requires us to do so.
21. World indifferent to Pal use of their own civilians as props
Sam ,   Canada   (03.02.08)
While the EU, UN and Palestinian supporters are quick to criticize Israel for its actions, there is complete indifference to Palestinians themselves endangering their own people by firing from Palestinian appartment buildings and crowds or attaching them to bombs for suicide attacks. Are Palestinians so primitive that there are no expectatons of them?
22. #16 Oded please note
mother of four ,   Israel   (03.02.08)
that Mr Ramon is about the only one of these muppets in the cabinet sho shouldn't be in jail. He appears to be the only member of cabinet who has even the remotest idea of how to prosecute a war. The palestinian use of civilian areas as protection for their terror activities seems to me to be no different than Sadaam Hussein's use of human shield in Gulf Wars various. The coalition forces didn't question the legality of knocking seven bells out of Baghdad even with their presence. See #3 above. And before anyone takes me to task over the Ramon assault case ... two of my four are girls, I'm reliably informed that they are attractive; they along with their brothers are serving soldiers and were at the time and still are of the opinion that Mr Ramon should be suing Miss A (or whatever) for defamation of character or something along those lines. I doubt if any member of my family has ever found ourselves on the same side as Mr Ramon except during his recent legal difficulties. Until now. More power to your elbow, Haim. Y'sher koach.
23. #5 Dont worry, be patient Pal - you'll be 'corrected'
(03.02.08)
24. #14 mazen
(03.02.08)
IDF never targets civilians. The civilians in Gaza die because Hamas is hiding behind civilians, in schools and mosques. And by the way, they are the same civilians that celebrate when Isralis die. S
25. Foolish jewish angst
bernard ross ,   st. anns bay,jamaica   (03.02.08)
When Turkey, US or anyone bombs the hell out of cibvilian centres no one is complaining. Only jews wonder whether they should fire back at there attackers. What about jewish civilians. It is a crime not to obliterate the source of fire so that one is sure that nothing has a possibility to fire another rocket.
26. Now , now Benny (#6)
Amused ,   Bnei Brak   (03.02.08)
Sending Ramon to Gaza to do as you suggest is probably against the Geneva Convention. From Ramon's viewpoint, would it be what US law means by "cruel and unusual punishment"? : )
27. Hamas already checked with lawyers
Ken ,   SA   (03.02.08)
Haniyah already checked with their human rights lawyers when they shot their way to power in Gaza. Under Palsetinian law, anything goes.
28. The sex offender speaks out
SIMON ,   TA Israel   (03.02.08)
Tut tut tut, why arent we firing back? Well we were rather hoping you could answer that one Mr Ramon. But then this is the kind of dribble to expect from this reinstated sex offender!
29. Not enough
C'est mOi ,   Canada   (03.02.08)
Not enough bloodshed I guess. Zionism would fail without the spilling of blood. Keep at it and not a tear will be shed when poetic justice slap your heads spinning!!
30. Israel should use a proportionare response
Hendreck ,   USA   (03.02.08)
The world is offended at the Israeli disproportionate response to the rockets. Why not just fire one rocket back for each one they send. That would be a proportionate response and would satisfy world opinion.
