1. No the other hollocaust is continuing in Tehran
Simon ,   TA Israel   (03.03.08)
Seems he should look in to his own house first. In Nazi Germany along with 6,000,000 jews 500,000 gay men were executed as much the same they are in Iran in 2008. So i think he is the last person to be talking human rights but then what should we expect from the ape man of Tehran?
2. Real holocaust is happening in Gaza?
Talula ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
Oh! and what about the million plus Arabs that were slaughtered during the war between Iran and Iraq? Or is it not considered a Holocaust when Arabs murder Arabs? ONE MILLION Arabs died during this time, it almost makes the recent operation in Gaza look like a tea party. ONE MILLION ARABS murdered by Arabs what is that called? Ahmadinejad needs to improve his vocabulary. He is very limited in expressing himself. I give him the one finger salute and hope he meets Allah real soon.
3. 'justice, kindness and morality'
Talula ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
does not hang beat and kill gay men in the village square. Justice, kindness and morality does not beat a woman for not adhering to a dress code. Justice, kindness and morality does not crack on against all odds to develop nuclear weapons to 'wipe Israel off the map' He is a sick, delusional psychopath and I hope his days are numbered.
4. You rock, Tallula!!
Kev ,   London   (03.03.08)
5. America's foreign policy mistake.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.03.08)
After 4000 American soldiers killed, I don't know how many injured, possibly crippled for life, & spending somewhere close to a trillion dollars (yes, folks - a trillion), the thanks they get from the Iraqi gov't. is a warm welcome for Ahmadinejad. Pakistan & Egypt are other examples of America's largesse - money thrown down the toilet. Now, the American administration, is repeating the same failed policies with Abbas. America thinks it can buy friends in the Muslim world. They are dead wrong. A "moderate" enemy is still an enemy.
6. #2 Iranians are Persians, not Arabs.
Doron ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.03.08)
Instead of pretending to spread knowledge, you might as well start your search with basics. Persians and Arabs are two completely seperate roots linguistically and ethnically. Jews and Arabs come from the same Semitic family, whereas the Persians come from the Indo-European family. If you try to put Iranians and Arabs together politicaly, it will never work, once again they are two seperate entities and have had different political interests throughout the history, just as many other countries in the world. And, if you put them together just because they both believe in Islam, that's wrong again. They do believe in different sects. And, more importantly, religions don't make foreign policies, national interests do, that's why you really need to know the difference between the Arabs and the Persians/Iranians before you spread your comments.
7. Real holocaust is happening in Gaza
Raphie ,   USA   (03.03.08)
For a man who denies the holocaust to talk about a holocaust is real chutzpah.
8. shh keep quiet and make your bomb
Nick ,   London   (03.03.08)
it so funny that a guy who should be keeping a low profile getting his bombs ready keeps making such a noise, keep talking, every word is one step closer to making Iran another Iraq
9. Doron, #6, don't confuse language and ethnicity
Jake   (03.03.08)
This is a mistake started by 19th century German "anthropologists", and to this day we are feeling the repercussions. Persians, since they became Islamized, also became heavily Arabized. Many of them even claim descent from Mohammed (Sayid). Persian adopted a huge chunk of Arabic words and the Arabic alphabet. Besides, most of the Iraqi Arabs are Shi'ites, like the Persians. Also, the existence of a nebulous "Indo-European family" of languages, is hotly contested and only a very small number of common roots have been positively identified wtihout dispute. These languages are spoken in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, as well as Iran, Europe, etc., etc., which should tell you something about the usefulness of this classification. As for Arabs and Jews speaking Semitic languages, again, where does Biblical history speak about an ancient "Semitic" nation or ethnicity? Sons of Shem included the non-'Semitic' Elamites and Lydians. Did the Israelites of the Bible feel any affinity to the "Semitic" Assyrians and Babylonians? The Canaanites, who spoke the same language as the Hebrews, were the deadliest of enemies, while the distant Persians were the closest of allies. Besides, Jews have changed languages numerous times throughout history. Linguists stil debate the original language spoken by the Hebrews in Aram Naharaim. After Hebrew, the Jews switched to Aramaic, and later to Greek, in many cases. The Yiddish language, long regarded as a staple of Jewish identity and traditions, is classified as Indo-European and Germanic. In the case of Ahmedinejad, forget his 'linguistic background'. If he looks like a duck, walks and talks like a duck,...
10. Isral's already paying an enormous PR price...
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (03.03.08)
...for Matan Vilnai's disastrous remark on shoah, I've already sent a TB on the subject in the specific update last week but I'm still shocked for the lack of a minimum of good sense and responsability coming from such an intelligent and important man. Anti-semites will rejoice for a long time, years of PR efforts in Israel and in the Diaspora were practically wasted in the very moment Mr Vilnai made is speech.
11. To #5 Terry: Guess in the mix of enemies...
Mark Kleiman ,   Florida, USA   (03.03.08)
You would prefer to have Saddam's Iraq ALSO aiming rockets at Israel? Iraq is now a free country with a horrific enemy on it's border, namely Iran. I know you expect only perfection from the USA, so as to justify all your criticism :(
12. #6
Talula ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
Whatever. A million plus of them were slaughtered during the war between Iran and Iraq over territory and it's not considered a 'Holocaust' - It's never even mentioned. A hundred were killed in Gaza during an operation of self defence and it's considered a 'Holocaust' why? because Jews did it? Whose side are you on anyway.
13. confused, Can't the Iranian President make up his mind.
michael   (03.03.08)
First he says there never was a holocaust, now he saying thiat Gaza is the real holocaust. By the way Iran caused a million iranians and iraqis to loose their lives. 1 million versus 100 armed terrorists. Can the iranian President try to speak within the realm of normalcy?! nah, why should he?
14. This apeman doesn't understand the meaning of Holocaust.
robert renders ,   belgium   (03.03.08)
That's why he thinks there is a Holocaust in Gaza, and he believes there was no Holocaust during WWII in Europe. Someone should learn this apeman to read and write.
15. #11 Mark Kleiman, Florida USA
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.03.08)
I don't expect perfection from the USA but I do expect a certain degree of realism & professionalism in foreign policy. America, unlike Israel, has global interests to protect & this is understandable. I did not say that getting rid of Saddam was a bad idea. It should have been done earlier in 1991 but better late than never. However, I think the idea of nation-building, particularly Arab nation-building, is an unrealistic goal. When Colin Powell made his famous statement, "if you break it ......" , I believe he was incorrect. The US would have been better off leaving it broken. Iraq is in no way a free country - it is what it always was, an enemy of the West & a rotten, nasty place rife with sectarian violence, extremists, & backwards savages. Now, instead of a Sunni dictator, they have a Shi'a majority tyranny which is heavily influenced by Iran. And, when the US eventually withdraws it's troops, nothing tells you that Iraq will not become another Iranian proxy like Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, & to a certain extent, parts of Afghanistan - and that we will have missiles aimed at us anyway. The point of my criticism was that America has no friends in the Middle-East & foreign policy that does not recognize that reality is a mistake.
16. #11 Mark, I think you're a bit harsh on Terry
Scott   (03.03.08)
What Terry is pointing out is fair comment. As much as I endorse and support the USA. There's no doubt that US policy in the ME has failed. But so has everyone else who has tried dealing with these crazies. Terry's lament is that rather than seeking perfection - he's decrying the continuance of approach that clearly has not, is not , will work - done so at enormous expense and perhaps to lasting detriment as these billions have been used to bolster the enemy.
17. He's gloating as he usually does...
Red Temple ,   of the White Mtns.   (03.04.08)
On Monday, thousands of people in Baghdad protested Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq, a day after demonstrations in various cities across Iraq. They denounce the Iranian regimes militias, and continued to chant anti-Ahmadinejad slogans, burning his picture through widespread protests. The trip to the Baghdad of al-Rashid was a publicity stint - an outlet - for the bleating of the butcher Ahmadinejad.
18. #11. The Iraqis are not saying that.
Persian CAT   (03.04.08)
I don't know on what basis a guy from Florida can claim Iran is Iraq "horrific enemy"! The majority of Iraqis are saying the exact opposite. Millions of Iranians go to Iraq to their favorite shrines, and millions of Iraqis, once the get rid of Bush's mercenaries, will travel to Iran to their favorite shrines. Iran is already providing electricity to Iraq and many cities in the Kurdistan areas of Iraq depend on goods and services trade with Iran. What the US has offered Iraq so far has been occupation, terrorism, humiliation and looting of Iraq's treasures. You need to crawl out of the Florida swamp you live in and get a clue.
19. You're good.
Redtemple ,   White Mtns.   (03.04.08)
(don't post and I'll keep you informed) A dream I had.
20. To #18 Persian: Correction, present Iranian dictatorship...
Mark Kleiman ,   Florida, USA   (03.04.08)
is everyone's horrific enemy!
