31. the misjudgment
suad ,   jerusalem   (03.08.08)
as far as the conflict is judged by the power and the war the misjudgment will be on both side i think hamass is not coming from the moon they are palastinians and i think the palestinians people like to live in peace but when you judge it in power and revenge i think israil will not servive not infront the terror but infront the right of people to live in peace so the misjudgment is to seek the war not the peace

34. Excellent Article: A Correct Analysis
Steve ,   Berkeley, California   (03.08.08)
I think this writer's analysis is on the money. In the next several months Hamas' Gaza infrastructure and probably most of its leaders will be gone.

36. You wish.
Sean ,   Derry/Ireland   (03.08.08)
What israeiies fear most is the courage of the Palestinian resistance. Your technology cannot erode their moral cause. Your culture of killing is eating at your human soul.
37. We should fight with the will to defeat the enemy.
Jean Van Daem   (03.08.08)
US Congressman David Weldon (R., Florida), who visited Israel last week, said Israel should strike back at Gaza in one fell swoop. "During World War II," Weldon told the Makor Rishon newspaper, "the U.S. attacked Japan mercilessly. Despite the ethical problems, everyone now agrees that this caused Japan to surrender, thus saving many lives, including Japanese lives. This is the reason I think Israel should hit the Palestinians with one fell swoop, thus defeating them. Otherwise, this cruel situation of today will continue year after year, decade after decade.Just like parents have to protect their children," Weldon said, "a state must protect its citizens, especially those who are threatened such as those in Sderot. If a country would attack the U.S., I would support turning that country into dust. If it’s right for the U.S., it's right for Israel." As described at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/stop-them-with-clear-cut-victory-part-i.html
38. Nothing to win, Nothimg to loose !!!!!
Pal ,   KSA   (03.08.08)
Sad to say that Isarael supported by the .... all .. has brought the palestanians to this situation, pushing... pushing ... loosing land.. loosing lives... loosing attention... loosing security... loosing every valuable thing in life... and all of a sudden, we want them to act as the most civilized peaple in the wold, No Sir, it cannot be, seeds you throw will grow !!!! The only solution to put an end to this misirable situation will be to recognize the other as he deserves ... as a human being.. then he can react like a human !!! STOP PUSHING THE CAT TO THE CORNER, ..... TIGER IT WILL BE .... Dont fool your self ,,,,, dont put off all lights.... think tomorrow >>>>
39. If they don't learn by their experiance...
Daniel ,   Israel   (03.08.08)
they have no brains... and shold be delt without brain.
40. #36: they do not have "moral cause" as you spell it
Daniel ,   Israel   (03.08.08)
They have no choice! Jobless youth are desperate to escape from their leaders. However, no one in the whole world wants them, even their own Arab or Muslim rich nations! (Ask Ahmadinejad to employ a few Palestinians in Iran – he will refuse.) Moreover, their own brothers threaten them "if they don't... their families will be in trouble" so reluctant youth are willing do die than to live! One to escape from ever-present threats from their leadership, second if they are successful in killing some Israelis; their families receive a few hundred dollars; which are essential for survival.
41. Hamas response
Elyiah ,   USA   (03.08.08)
I TOTALLY agree with your commentary with one minor exception...the time is not drawing near..it is now! If I were the PM of Israel I would issue an ultimatum to the so-called Palestinians that every woman and female child under the aqe of 16 be given 48 hours to leave Gaza. After that period I would carpet bomb the entire Gaza from end to end for ten days. After that, go in with troops and kill anything left alive like Joshua did in the bible...ENOUGH
42. Israel Countdown
Shiista ,   McDonald   (03.08.08)
According to several experts from Isreal and the USA. The real countdown that started in since the year 2000 is Israel countdown. That simply due the USA countdown. Let s be real, 60 years trying to extinguish a nation failed, 60 years trying to build an imported nation failed. Obviously, Israel is a failed project, the alternative hopefully will be a democratic Israeli and Palestinian state. The worse case scenarion is that there will be an I sraeli Nakba and an era of Palestinian Zionism. Never mind Ben Gorion sayying the first defeat of israel will mark its end.
43. Hamas & Hizbullah must be wiped out off the map...period !
william   (03.08.08)
...It's either you are pregnant or not... Israel should not have to live under the gun... Both of these two criminal entities hijacked and are terrorizing their own zip codes with the full support of two "Nazi" like dictators in Syria and Iran... The free world just pays lip service... It's for the sons of David to eliminate or destroy these criminals and for the free world, Europe in particular, to once shut up when the "cleaning" operation starts...
44. Is it ok to bomb Shderot but not Askelon
Guy   (03.08.08)
We are morally bankrupt. We should have put an end to them when the first kasam was shot.
45. Only Bibi understands the Arabs
Yehezkael ,   London   (03.08.08)
Will this latest atrocity convince Shas to quit the government and force elections and then do the honourable thing and team up with Bibi. Remember Bibi quit Sharon's government warning that if Israel unilaterally quit Gaza an Islamic terror state would form. How right he was. As other have noted we also need Israel's politicians to stop peddling this nonsense that Fatah want peace. This murderer was from Fatah-land not Hamastan as was the killer in Dimona. Better we refer to Mahmoud Abbas as a holocaust denying terror leader than the friendly peace loving Abu Mazen, he is just a secular version of Haniyeh, they disagree on implementation of Sharia law not in their approach to killing Jews. To #36 all I can say is a refrain that is 3000 years old and as true today as it has been through time: AM YISRAEL CHAI !!
46. #38 WRONG!!!!!
(03.08.08)
six million jews during ww2 were interned in ghetoes under very very dangerous conditions, exported, gassed, tortured, medically experimented on, their children killed in front of their parents at point blank shots to the head, killed jews burried in mass graves, burned and left to die, stolen jewish property, dispossession, theft of their homes, treasures, lives, money. their teeth taken out for gold, their hair shaved to make lamps and their skin and oil used for shades. they were starved collectively...six million of them!!!!!!!!!!! YET, NOT ONCE, HAVE THE JEWS BEHAVED AS HAMAS OR THE PALESTINIANS. NOT ONCE HAVE THE JEWS BOMBED CITIZENS OR TOWNS OR SCHOOLS. NOT ONCE DID THEY STRAP SUICIDE BELTS TO KILL INNOCENT CIVILIANS. NOT ONCE DID THEY GUN DOWN THEIR OPRESSORS. and do not you dare tell me that the palestinian lives even compare to what we have suffered under the german occupation. there is a differenc e. jews israelis do not murder you. they kill the terrorists that try to to do to them what tghe nazis tried. NEVER AGAIN. NOT YOU, NOT ABAS. NOT MASHAAL, NOT SYRIA AND NOT A SINGLE ARAB LAND WILL EVER WIN AGAINST US. WE ARE HERE TO STAY AND YOU MUST LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

48. It is different this time
Sigfried S. Kuhn ,   Aberdeen   (03.08.08)
Hamas knows that there are differences between what Israel was and is now. First, Israel has the most incompetent and corrupt government in its history. This is literally the gang that couldn't shoot straight. Hamas knows that Kadima will mess up any response. Israel's poor performance during the second Lebanon War has also lost it credibility among American leaders. The Americans realize that Kadima cannot be trusted to do anything and as a consequence, do not deserve unconditional American backing. Second, with the US bordering on a serious recession/depression, oil becomes even more potent. After years of neglect, the US finds itself in a position with few guaranteed oil supplies. The Arabs and Iranians can shut down the flow and other oil rich countries like Venezuela and Russia are also hostile to the US. Just continuing to raise the price of oil will help to destroy the US economy and the Hamas knows it. Finally, this government is scared to death of the US. Kadima knows that it is only the US that protects Israel from the UN security council. Kadima knows that the US cannot let Israel do what it needs to do because of the oil problem. So, in effect, Israel is not able to defend itself other than to strike back in a limited way.
49. OLMERT KEEPS MOVING THE RED LINE BACK!
NARO ,   NYC   (03.09.08)
The chickens in Jerusalem keep moving the redline back as Hamas keep crossing it. Hamas is laughing.
50. INTO THE STREETS
Dan ,   USA   (03.09.08)
...before it is to late. Why aren't the Israeli citizens marching through the streets to the Knesset to demand that this corrupt government is removed along with the MK's who would rather protect their own interests than that of the State of Israel? The people have lost their will to fight and it will be the downfall of Israel.
51. violent hate

the gaza arabs must know that the jews wil resist because of their overwhelming harsher suffering give upnow and seek truces for the jews are a race filled with anger and the justice of survival
52. dear #28, christian
mayadabee   (03.12.08)
let me tell you something all the israelis already know, we have never been satisfied with a leader, not even the one that gave us peace, not when they fight, not when they talk. we chritisize because we are not norway, and peace is far. it does, however keep them on their toes, and it keeps us a democratic country at a time where many others would have failed. these leaders you have mentioned know that when they get something right it wont be talked as much as when they err, but that is because there is so much to fix, and living as israelis do, happiness is still far to come
