1. donĀ“t be so sure
Charles   (03.09.08)
the enemy is treacherous
2. Can someone please tell me what we've been
JJ star ,   Land of Israel   (03.09.08)
experiencing for the last 5 years with: katyusha missiles kassam missiles stabbings molotov bottles bombings lynchings shootings rock throwings and land thieving hasn't been one huge, pathetic and putrifying intee fada? And all the while - the leftists look the other way while the West and EU *galore* are busy falling over themselves on who will give more BILLIONS of $$$$ to the *poor Palistenians of Gaza*and the Muslims mock them, don't you know. For ever $ and concessions they ejaculate with glee and pass out candies. It's enough to make anyone want to just blow this whole middle east to smithereens - for sheer disgust at the way things are.
3. Political & ideological considerations.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.09.08)
Have our security institutions become like the American CIA, allowing political & ideological considerations to obscure objective analysis?
4. Land for Peace
eddie ,   London UK   (03.09.08)
Is Syria can give up its ties with Iran for the reward of the Golan, perhaps the Iranians and palestinainas will make peace if Israel gives up all of Palestine and Israel. That is the next poicy for israel's left.
5. too bad since the first 2 worked out so well for them
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.09.08)
if something results in disaster, keep doing it until the disaster is perfect and complete. makes sense to me.
6. maybe this time they will be right
joseph ,   Israel   (03.09.08)
The same people who predict there won't be a thrid intifada are the ones who predicted that: Arafat would use the guns he received from Israel to fight Hamas and not kill Jews Offering Fatah territorial concessions in 2000 would bring peace, rather than the second intifada Destroying Gush Katif would increase Israel's security and the south would flourish I guess if they were wrong in every other prediction they have ever made, maybe this time they will be right.
7. Why not
David ,   USA / ISRAEL   (03.09.08)
You gave them Gaza, You can't wait to give them half of Jerusalem. You will build Arab cities in the Galil , why not give them the Golan. just make sure to hold on to Tel Aviv, where all of you crooks own homes and properties. That's all it counts
8. Experience proves them correct
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (03.09.08)
Just look at the positive results our "Land for Peace" has given us so far: We gave up Gaza so that hamas can bring democracy and peace to their minions; we gave up the sinai so the egyptians can teach their engineers how to construct a stronger tunnel; we gave up south lebanon so that hezbullah can offer freedom of religion and "rocket science" to our peaceful islamic brothers to the north. Hell, why not just give everything up? OH WAIT: That's what the Olmert/Livni/Barakeh/Abbas team are doing!
9. Don't bet on it ....
Psalms 82 ,   Selah   (03.09.08)
quote "but added that Damascus could be persuaded to sever its ties with the Islamic republic in exchange for Israel's withdrawal from the Golan Heights and US support. " ....The tanicals of power over syria from Iran and other radical groups is very strong.
10. Makes perfect sense
El Logical   (03.09.08)
This seems logical. Syria would disengage from it's closest partner and ally to obtain a tiny strip of land it has no use for. Why not, land for peace works, so this seems like a good deal for Syria in some alternate universe right? And if Syria keeps it's ties, and then keeps the Golan, I'm sure there is something else we can give them. Someday soon Israel will need to conquer some land so they have something to give away. When none is left, and they can't have peace accords, what will the world do? 192 other countries of the world cannot risk looking at their own ills!
11. #5 Mike - Actually they did gain in Intifada 1
Squalid Ibn Harman ,   Qtir   (03.09.08)
Intifada 1 caught Israel off guard. Before that we used to joke that in Usa the borders are safe but the cities aren't and in Israel the cities are safe but the borders aren't. Intifada 1 brought suicide bombers to the heart of Israel and we were totally unprepared. The end result was the Roadmap and starting to create the PA. They got international recognition and a chance for the first time since the Arafat, Rabin, and cursed Carter show at the White House. Arafat got and stole billions. Having won Intifada 1, they thought that they could do it a second time and started Intifada 2 in 2000 with Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount although it was planned well in advance. This time they lost big time. The PALs infuriated the Israeli and moved Israel to the right electing Sharon, PALs worst nightmare, to be the PM. Sharon pioneered countless counter-terror measures that led to the containment of the terrorists with the Fence, roadblocks, and border crossings. He put down Jenin in ways that they never could imagine. The quality of life, especially in Gaza, has deteriorated at Hamas rose to power. Israel was forced to intensify the seige and the world cut off all funding. They were left to beg UN for aid. No jobs, No hope. Only terror and dead terrorists. The next test of both PALs and Israelis will be election. They screwed up and got Hamas. We screwed up and got Olmert. It is argueable who got screwed the most. In any case, they have lost so badly with Intifada 3, only an idiot would cont.
12. CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yoni ,   jerusalem   (03.09.08)
why is everyone so insane? is israel just a bunch of loony people making decisions? give land get death
13. 11 - you're right
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.09.08)
the first one institutionalized the word "palestinian" with terrorism, so now their national identity is forever associated with everything odious to normal and decent people. but palestinians wouldn't have it any other way, so my point stands.
14. wait
