2. 6 day war was proof of Frances true friendship
zionist forever   (03.10.08)
After we won a war for our continued existance France stopped supplying the parts for the French Mirage jets Israel had bought which led to the decision to develop the Kfir and later the Lavi before the project was cancled because of budget cuts. Israel commisioned France to build some missle boats. The boats were paid for, built but then France refused to deliver so Israel was forced to send comandos to France to take its own property. France like the rest of Europe will allways take the side of the arabs. Both England & France part financed Yossi Belins genevea accord which gave the arabs alot and gave very little to Israel. The only time France has ever treated the alliance with Israel over the arabs was during the 1956 Suez War when they needed Israel to help them get back the Suez Cannal. This is all diplomatic talk which in the real world means nothing .. actions speak louder than words.

friends, only interests". (Said by De Gaulle to Ben Gurion, when the latter adressed France as a friend of Israel.) That explains why in 56 France was pro-Israel and in 67 not.
5. Sarko the Sayan strikes again!
Zeal ,   Zionist America   (03.11.08)
6. Mr. Sarkozy
Ariel ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (03.11.08)
Would you like to convert and be our PM? You are mpre pro-Israel than the leading establishment.
7. Sarkozy is a Rare Friend
guy ,   los angeles   (03.11.08)
Israel is fortunate to have the current leaders of France and Germany being such good friends---it would be far easier for them to remain neutral...
8. srael now has Sarkozy, instead of Bush, to invade Iran
al ,   Kansas City, USA   (03.11.08)
9. greet you as Shimon Peres
stephen ,   ludlow, usa   (03.11.08)
His real name was Persky. As far as Sarkozy goes, don't be surprised if like bush, he whips out his knife. It's easier to put it in ones back if your other arm is around the shoulders.
10. france's backing
marcel   (03.11.08)
Having Frances backing is worthless as they are one of the weakest countries militarily in the world. Hezbollah could defeat the whole country. About Hezbollah, IDF should you anesthetic tear gas bombs to kill hez in the towns(like the ruskis used). Fight assymetric--gas the town with anesthetic bombs and wait, then go in. Use human shields to go in first. Screw the AG and the supreme court, the same group that gave birth to the rotten Wingorad group who have perpetuated moronic and cowardly rule by olmert.
11. Complicity.
Jean Van Daem   (03.11.08)
Those who defend the Palestinians uncritically are enablers of murder. Not just the murder of Israelis, about whom they clearly could hardly care less, but the murder of the Palestinian victims of the Palestinian terrorists. The uncritical Palestinian partisans also share responsibility for the blood of the Palestinians who die in Israeli strikes intended to stop the aggression against Israeli cities. Israel cannot let this go on, while the Palestinians fire more powerful rockets deeper into its territory. These attacks are the only reason for the Israeli strikes. Those who support the Palestinian “resistance” are aiding the provocation that makes these strikes necessary. Unless they temper their support with strong and unequivocal criticism of Palestinian aggression, all their sympathy for the Palestinian people is nothing more than crocodile tears as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/02/collapse-of-political-correctnesswhere.html
12. @ 1
Jean ,   Paris   (03.11.08)
You are right, he will not be elected again. We, the French people don't like oppressive nations, we like liberty, Freedom, and Justice, Israel is none of these. What you have been doing to native population for 60 years is appalling. I would like nothing better than to cut our ties with Israel. Even the Germans didn't treat us as bad as you treat the natives, you continue to take more and more land from them, than wonder why they attack you, stupidity.
13. #12-Jean-Clueless and brainwashed
CSB ,   USA   (03.11.08)
No,Jean,#12, you are the thoroughly ignorant one. READ THE HISTORY! Anyone who knows the facts ,dismisses your comments.Educate yourself. You haven't a clue. Just what kind of freedoms and liberty do you think, the Arab populations in the Arab/Muslim/Islamist countries have?

Virtually the same quote - "USA does not have friends, only interests" - is credited to then US Foreign Secretary J Foster Dulles.
15. H.em,spare me from this friend

16. France/Britain in same boat
C McCoy ,   Canada   (03.11.08)
Both suffer from a complex of being stuck in the glories of the past, back when they were real countries. Both need a serious attitude update, to realize the rest of the world sees them as just another country. France could also benefit from living within its budget from time to time.
17. Peres in Paris
MM ,   RBS Israel   (03.11.08)
"Sarko will be out in a few years"; hopefully, Peres will be out - permanently - in a few days!

An American is the last person who should lecture a European on History. Your country ranks 39 on the education system on the subject of world history. Btw, I'm not talking about Arab Muslim freedom, I'm talking about what Israel does. When one wants to learn about history, Hollywood is not exactly the best source of information, but as an American, you wouldn't know that anyways!!!

And who helped Israel achieve nuclear capability?????
21. #20 Answer
#20 Answer   (03.11.08)
France helped Israel achieved nuclear capability in the 50's but it was not unilateral. Israeli Prof. Yuval Neeman helped France going nuclear as well. There was a mutual interest.
