It has been a common tradition to use flow pen when working on airplane holds/lower decks. This could have been done anywhere where this particular plane flew in the last few weeks, and not necessarily in Tel Aviv. There are plenty of Arabic speaking ground personal offloading and loading bulk cargo holds. Very difficult to track who did it......but a sign to the Israel Airport AUthorities security services that amongst the badge holders, some may present a specific threat and therefore all " arabic speaking " candidates to any job on the ramp side in Ben Gurion should see his access badge denied ....Now is this realistic ? certainly not !

This is not about antisemitic scribble anywhere or other. The question here is how this unidentified person could manage to pass the security around the airplane and get away with it. Now, he chose to scribble something but he could just as well have chosen to do something MUCH, MUCH worse. #1, please get your thougths straight before you write.

the other day on CNN reported Jews chanting or yelling "death to Arabs." that epithet is also written on public buildings and such from both sides. also written is "**** Jews/Arabs/America" -all sorts of stuff. So what?

Writing death to jews isnt the issue here its the fact that ELAL managed to let somebody get past security and into the lugage compartment. If that man had planted a bomb and left without leaving any messages nobody would have known any better and he literaly could have caused death to jews. ELAL is supposed to be the safest airline in the world but they are so negligent they allow somebody to get into a lugage compartment and we should just be thankfull that a little grafiti was all he was interested in.

That was my first thought - the security breach. This could be scary that EL AL who I still believe is the safest airline to fly had this breach. The positive side of this is that it probably won't happen again since it will certainly motivate them to close any breach from now on.

Folks.... I am sure that none of you are in the airlines industry. There are at least 500 to 600 people who - on a daily basis- have access to ANY el al airplanes in Ben Gurion in the course of their normal duty. When flying abroad, El Al is frequently being handled - whiloe on the ground- by handling companies operated either privately or by the airport or chamber of commerce authorities. It is therefore normal that handlers do have access to cargo holds to offload, or onload bulk cargo and lower deck containers when flying a " containerized airplane" . Thie clearly means that unless El Al security personnel inspects belly/ hold right after the offload , stays on the spot to supervise the onloading team and waits untill the door is locked, there will be a possibility to perform such action.....and other more serious unfortunately. El Al security procedures are complex but do NOT cover ALL of the aspects of security once the aiplane is located in a "Sterile" environment. It would be far too expensive and the price of tickets would be impacted. Until now , El Al considers that flying with "sky marshalls" on board the planes is a sufficient deterrent to " inflight incidents" and rests responsability on airport worldwide to ensure that loading/offloading personnel is " security cleared" by local authorities.....but this is a not foolproof.....any one can become one day antisemitic, for a various range of reasons !
