1. Can't shock Shimon...
Talula ,   Israel   (03.12.08)
He's heard it all before. And he still stands tall. Shimon makes stupid judgement calls now and again, but essentially he's a good man.
2. The New Evil Left
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.12.08)
The hypocrisy and stupidity of those who support the misogynist backward Islamists is apparent to decent and sensible human beings. The New Anti- Semitic Left supports Terrorists, who are also Religious Fundamentalists. Where is equality , liberty, and social justice in such hypocritical nonsense?
3. Rightists say Peres is a criminal too.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.12.08)
So I guess we can all agree on something for a change.
4. He is a criminal !
The Perescope ,   Ramat Aviv, Israel   (03.12.08)
He brought us Oslo and promised us a New Middle East, but what we got instead was a genocidal Palestinian war of terror and a tidal wave of global anti-Semitism. Any normal country would have required Peres to resign in disgrace after Oslo blew up. But we elected him president.
5. LEFTISTS ARE A WORLWIDE CANCER
(03.12.08)
6. NO WAY ?
Lefty Peres   (03.12.08)
Peres is the left he created it, and now he is getting a taste of his own poisen. All I can say to him, Enjoy!
7. "Leftist activists"? Should read, "Terror sympathizers".
Tahl ,   Israel   (03.12.08)
There is nothing "leftist" about calling to destroy the state of Israel, and justifying rocket attacks on Israeli residents. This is plain terror-sympathizing.
8. Peres: *Fight the fight on MySpace!*
M. Ockery ,   Tel Aviv   (03.12.08)
Jokers in the presidency of Israel. First a molester, then the epitome of evil. Just look at that face.
9. Are they really "Left"?
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.12.08)
The fact that they fly the red flag and claim they are Leftists does not make them necessarily so. Their actions and words make them Fascists, racists and terror supporters. The new Axis is between these new "Leftists" and the Muslim world terror. After all, the Nazi flag was red too. Now we only need to slap a svastika on the red flag and those "Leftists" will have a flag that describes their agenda very clearly.
10. Peres is crooked
Ken Besig ,   Israel   (03.12.08)
Peres is crooked, just not the way the French Left thinks.
11. #9 Yes, they're really Left
AK   (03.12.08)
They sound exactly like Fascists? No suprise in that if one consider the Fascist history and compare the Leftist and Fascist tactics. I think it is about time for the Israelis to retire their red flags, Stalin's photos and debunked leftist mythology. Left= Fascism, its a fact.
12. French leftists
Hiram ,   Vered HaGalil   (03.12.08)
Lyon......indeed a major metropolis connected with french resistance, and sadly the arrest of Jean Moulin, the victims of torure taking place at the Veterinary School etc etc etc..... French leftists have had a long time traditions of criticism against Israel. This was already the case in the early 70s...and is the direct heritage of the "Gaullist" era, even if De Gaulle was not a "left" man.... This is also in line with the dusty revolutionary ideals asking support for " those persecuted or enslaved"...which is the ( Incorrect ) picture the French leftists have of Palestinian.......but of course no one talks about this famous " jihad" ( you will recall that Leftists never talk about Jihad since religion is of minor importance ....) I strongly doubt that the French leftists ( Most of them still leave at Mom and Dad ) have impressed Shimon very much.....I also doubt that any of them would like to live in Sderot or end up with a French president wearing a beard and covering with Islamic veils his beautiful wife Carla !!! French leftists ? Smoke.....dust......nothing at all ........
13. #2, #7, #9
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.12.08)
You are wrong. Although their antisemitism and hatred for Israel is misplaced, they are right about Peres. In order to be reelected in 1996, Peres sent the IDF to attack Lebanon to show that he was a tough guy. In that unnecessary invasion. Kafr Kana was shelled, killing between 100 and 200 people. This is the one case where the dead were actually innocent women and children and not soldiers.
14. Shimon Peres, President of Israel or songs writer?
ילד מתוק ,   הבלקן   (03.12.08)
15. #13 - Nonsense.
Tahl ,   Israel   (03.12.08)
The 1996 shelling of Kafr Kana was a part of operation "Grapes of wrath" in retaliation of constant, unrelenting barrage of unprovoked katyusha rockets on Kiryat Shmona and the surrounding settlements. There was no "invasion" into Lebanon, rather, Hizbollah strongholds were heavily bombed from the air, sea, and by artillery from Israel. One day during the operation, Hizbullah fired Katyushas toward Israeli settlements, from a position strategically, cynically and heartlessly placed adjacent to the UN refugee camp. The IDF fired in response, and one errant shell fell on the camp, killing 102 people. Under the ensuing international condemnation and pressure (while Hizbollah joyfully danced on the victims' blood), Israel had to stop the operation. All your factual errors aside - this was certainly not Peres's fault, and this certainly does not make the protesters "right" about him. Where did you get your information from, Al Jazeera?

17. #15 - from the BBC probably
Stephen Fox ,   UK   (03.12.08)
Many of us here are deeply ashamed of our media and the way they present the situation. They seek to blame Israel for all the Islamic terrorism in the world, because that's easier than confronting Islam itself. They are cowards.
