31. I plan to only shop at Weissman's stores
Daniel ,   TA   (03.13.08)
The Black coats can shop wherever they like. I personally am hoping they avoid place I shop as I can not stand the fact that they have an inherent fear of soap and water. I just hope their boycott leaves them with no place to purchase groceries within walking distance of their homes. These Rabbis declare all kinds of bizzare things. I gave up on them when they claimed "red" wasn't a "kosher color.," I laughed until my stomach hurt when they claimed homosexuals have the power to cause earthquakes. These people are frankly over board and need to learn that the world even in Israel does not revolve around them
32. Oh JOJO
telavivit ,   Israel   (03.13.08)

33. Boycott THEM!
Jewish CANADIAN ,   Toronto   (03.13.08)
Israel is a democracy. If the haredim choose to live as medieval barbarians that is their right,But do it on your OWN dime. Work,Earn.Produce and dont expect the taxpayer to pay for your life choices.Dwell in ignorance and filth but HOW DARE YOU demand that everyone sink to your level.
34. To Charels der shvonce
Al   (03.14.08)
If you want to curse me in Yiddish I can curse you under the table. The hasser fessing kapo drech anti Jewish hoodlums have brought Israel to the point that Israel will be destroyed. The quicker they leave israel the sooner Israel will survive. We dont need gelt,we need guts guns and god to make Israel a great nation. kapo juden wannabee eurotrash have brought Israel to the abyss of eventual demise. Farsheist...
35. Boycott Haredim!
Jay   (03.14.08)
If we stop donating to Haredi organizations, and yeshivas, if we boycott their hashgachas then they will start to lose power. No one says we do't have a right to boycott as well.
36. Open on Saturday
Yael ,   USA   (03.14.08)
Excuse me, but just because a store is open doesn't mean you have to walk through the door, enter and shop. I'm sure that observant Jews have the self-control to keep the Sabbath....right?
37. charles aka chaimka gai kak in yam di shtick dreck

38. Not a Haredim-fan, but agree on this. It's Shabat, come on.
John ,   Amsterdam   (03.14.08)
39. Workers rights
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (03.14.08)
This isn't just about chilonim having the right to shop whenever they want. It's about the rights of poor workesr, who work for minimum wage being pressured to work on Shabbat, the only day when the rest of their family is at home. The bosses get rich while the rights of the workers get trampled on. They can't even get one day to be home with their kids. Seven day shopping is unnecessary and bad for society. If you need something, you have six other days to get it. That's plenty of time.
40. Joe and al
charles ,   petyach tikva   (03.14.08)
as you probably know , god told Moshe to talk to everyone in his own language . That's why i used those low level words , the only such bipedes [ tswaifiesedige behaimes ] as you can understand . Yiddish is a nice language for this .
41. To serious people [ no jojo ,al and so ]
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.14.08)
As someone wrote , it's also for the workers rights . Yes , but don't they receive a higher wage for working on Shabbat ? Many of them are also young persons , as i have seen . So no children . They also have another day off . Some are also only working this day , students who are happy to earn some cash . If a supermarket decides to open on Shabbat , it's certainly that there is a need and a demand . They don't do it for nothing . If there is no need , or not enough , they surely won't open . Look only what Dan busses did . No more busses in TA before end of Shabbat , not enough clients . Maybe there will be more of them in the summer , when whole families go to the beach by "sherut" and return home by Dan .
42. Valid Form Of Protest
David ,   Jerusalem   (03.14.08)
People have a right to vote with their feet and their wallets. People who slam the hareidim for exercising this basic right are also exercising it every time they make a purchase at the store of their choice. Keep your double standards to yourself.
43. When we disagree do we have to cus each other too?!?!?!
Dudu ,   Tel-Aviv   (03.14.08)
44. Open store in Uganda=everybody happy
sam ,   USA   (03.14.08)
45. Protests
Yerushalmi ,   Jerusalem   (03.14.08)
Protests against elites are what preserves our freedom. I would not go as far as Jefferson as to suggest a armed revolution once in 20 years, but boycotts and demonstrations keeps the elites on their toes. Quote: God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure. Thomas Jefferson

47. To # 46 , not your business , you goy
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.14.08)
48. Charles is defeated!
Jo Jo ,   London   (03.14.08)
I quote him a verse in the Torah which prescribes the death penalty for those who desecrate the Sabbath and he responded by cursing, taunting and more curses. When airheads have no compelling argument but cannot give in to defeat, they just react by insults. You share with us your wishes to EVEN drive on Yom Kippur, which seems that you know its importance, but deliberately ignore it anyway. That is what we call goyish behaviour. You are the one who is truly a goy. Continue eating your pork and I will continue my Torah study, continue to keep the Sabbath to the best of my ability and continue praying for the destruction of the heretics in our midst. I would advise you to walk to Tel Aviv on Shabbat, not only would you prevent the terrible punishments and shame that await you but you will be clocking up many merits with every 4 steps you make in the holy land.
49. Shabbath should be respected by all.
S Judah ,   london   (03.14.08)
And I mean all Jews, whether religious, secular, atheists or otherwise. Why? Because it is clear that the Sabbath is a special day in our religion, our culture and our traditions. The public desecration of Sabbath is not a good thing and it is a mistake to view this as coercion or the like. We should respect it like we should respect our elders, because it is the right thing to do.
50. Remember the antisemites that boycotted
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.14.08)
Jewish businesses in germany in the 1930s? Now we have anti semites boycotting Jewish businesses here. Let us deport the hara-dim from our Jewish land! They contribute little and they cost us a lot in tax money, defense burden and politics.
51. to #4 hey jo jo the dog faced boy
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.14.08)
shut up while you are living in londonistan! Stop preaching to us. We Jews support and defend these parasitic hara-dim. They have nothing to do with Judaism! They hate us Jews. They suck the blood of the Jewish state. They contribute nothing, but they bitch non stop!
52. No. 51 Jason White
NYC Girl   (03.15.08)
I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, the best thing for these haredim to do would be to get themselves on the next plane leaving for New York where they can settle in one of those Hassidic enclaves and stop driving the Israelis crazy with their fanaticism.
53. jojo , I'm defeated ? , by who ?
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.15.08)
Not by this jojo in London , for sure , this guy who tries to give us , GOOD Isreali JEWS , lessons , but who , himself stays faraway from here , and contributes anything to MY , and not his , country . This for one who calls Israelis behaviour goyish , but who lives amongst goyim . Your torah lessons have'nt brought much , better to say no , Judaism in your head .
54. S Judah ,also in london
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.15.08)
Well , if you want to respect the Shabbat , do it . And i will certainly support your right , your 100 % right , to do it . But , i'll ask you , to also support MY right , my 100 % right , not to do it . OK ?
55. israel is a democratic state, not torah state
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.15.08)
unless that changed since yesterday, i don't see what the fuss is about.
56. Haredim launch boycott of supermarket chain
muriel ,   santa barbara, US   (03.15.08)
Are we growing our own breed of ayatollahs? What next? All Jewish women forced to dress like frumps just to please a small minority of Jewish men unable to controle their lust in fron of a woman's pretty hair or naked ankles? Or maybe the closing of all movie theaters (an actor already had to quit playing in Natalie Portman's next movie, because his rabbi objected!!!) and concert halls? How about books other than the torah? If that's what Israel is turning into, I'm going to have to rethink my planned aliyah. At any rate, I'm postponning it for the moment.
57. Muriel , Come !
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.15.08)
And make Alyah . You won't regret it , it's great , even with some "problems" we have . You don't know how it feels to be "at HOME" .
58. Jason White?
Jo Jo ,   London   (03.16.08)
You want a Jewish State? Then keep the seventh day holy. You use words the the great antisemites loved using when describing the parasitic and bloodsucking Jews. How dare you, shame on you. You know full well that it was the haredim that inhabited Palestine before all you secular invaded and forced your anti-jewish beliefs on them. Now you have the chutzpah to castigate them. You dont want a londoner preaching to you? Arn't all Jews entitled to have a say in what happens in their country? If not, then don't accept any support that comes fro the diaspora, soon youe beloved state will collapse. You godless zionists owe everything to the haredim and should support them forever. You will never be able to repair the damage you have caused.
59. Carry on eating youe pork chops Charles
Jo Jo ,   London   (03.16.08)
I feel much more comfortable living among goyim who respect my traditions and accept my way of life, than live amoung hateful and intolerant Jews who ridiclue and mock everything I stand for. Who think beacuse they themselves are jewish, it gives them the right to describe other Jews worse than any goy would dare think of. I think I will stop calling you Charles the goy, Goyim are generaly more respectful than secular israelis.
60. jojo , the charidim did'nt build MY , not your State
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.16.08)
it were the mostly seculars , if not anti religious who did it . And if you support [ i doudt ] it's because you , the charidim , see this "support" as a kind of insurance , a place where to hide in case of ....
