1. German media supposed to ignore visit
Matthias ,   Berlin, Germany   (03.17.08)
Hi! It's interesting to read this, since the same is said in German news channels about Israeli media apparently ignoring Merkel's visit. Both does not seem to be entirely true I guess. In my opinion it's pretty difficult to not be updated about the visit, even if one only rarely follows the news. Cordially Matthias

I cannot believe you put up a headline like this. main newscasts of german tv open the URL and klick on "Merkel in Israel" http://www.tagesschau.de/multimedia/video/video291366_bcId-ts3640_ply-internal_res-flash256_vChoice-video291366.html or check this URL http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/content/454626?inPopup=true Sure, the Merkel visit didn't get the first spot, BUT i is being very well covered. Even our newsanchor at the heute-journal said in an apologizing note, that China shoved itself on the agenda and there are so many great things one could actually talk about... and Israel was on. Or maybe you want to check on a website which gets 130 Million pageviews a month: (in english) http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,541892,00.html you will learn by reading the article on spiegel.de that the leftist propaganda of PALLYWOOD has taken quite some hold in Germany. Germany can be one of the fiercest allies of Israel in the future if Israel could do one little thing: Offensively engage the Germans in taking their side. Some people already had a great idea: The "I like Israel" day which is being celebrated in 60 German cities this year. Dear Israelis, please join in! http://www.il-israel.org/index.php And finally, just to prove ynet right ;-) plz take a look (surely not the mass media appeal) at Angela's site: http://www.bundeskanzlerin.de/Webs/BK/EN/Homepage/home.html

8. Stop with the poor reporting
aluf ben ,   germany   (03.18.08)
As an israeli living in Germany for many years I have to say I am sick of jewish whining by some in my community. Her visit to Israel has been reported by every major television station, and has been placed in the top three spots including Tibet, and the markets by both N-TV,and N-24,not to mention SAT1,and RTL.If I were a german citizen frankly I would be more interested in the markets,as that has a greater impact on my life.As far as Tibet goes, its the biggest story on CNNI as well.Sorry my fellow jews, the nazis are not Germany today, and germans dont have to make you the center of thier universe, grow up.
9. German Media ignor Merkel's visit to Israel.
Dia ,   Dortmund, Germany   (03.18.08)
I live in NRW Germany and I do agree that the majority of the German media ignored the visit of Chancellor Merkel in Israel. This was a mistake, the more as the relationship between Germany and Israel in spite of being warm and friendly should still be for every German a good reason to be proud and thankful. Nevertheless, the media attitude did not surprised me at all. I know how ignoring and hostile the majority of the media in Germany is to Israel. While the Palestinian victims of this ME conflict are brought in all the news in full contest + video clips, the information about Israeli victims are rarely reported and iff short and without video images or details which could awake a sort of empathy. There were 50 rockets raining over Sederot in one day. I followed several media sources to read or hear something about it, but no word... Nevertheless, they don't miss here to report any attack made by the Israeli army or even single settlers. I am proud of Angela Merkel, she does the right thing ! Dia, Dortmund, Germany
10. German Press on Merkel Visit
peter hoff ,   Lunenburg germany   (03.18.08)
If you would have watched the news on all German TV stations you could have seen the strong coverage of the event as well as very positive comments about the importance of the visit.
11. Ynet once again not saying the truth
Yael ,   Germany   (03.18.08)
I don't know what it is, but once again Ynet is putting things into the wrong perspective when it comes to Germany. Surely, the German media are NOT "ignoring" Merkel's visit. It made it into the top 3 stories of all news I have seen. You cannot blame some stations for opening with Tibet or the stock crash. Surely, tomorrow after Merkel's speech in the Knesset, the visit will make the top headline of most newspapers and TV news. I can see how ppl in the talkbacks are arguing about how much attention the media have paid to this. But I am sure that everyone who is in Germany right now and following the news will agree, that the media are not "ignoring" the visit. They might have not put it on the very top of the list, but it is still high up there.
12. Biased Headline
Peter Maykowski ,   Hannover, Germany   (03.18.08)
The headline "German media ignore Merkel's visit to Israel" is biased and untrue. The visit is a top news here in Germany. Watch yourself: http://www.tagesschau.de/ The interesting thing: Why do you write like this? Peter
