1. The movie that didn't shy away from every cliche in the book
I.N. Cognito ,   Brooklyn, NY   (03.19.08)
Couldn't they give it to someone more deserving? While the movie portrayed Tel Aviv in a very compelling, live way, the directors used every cliche - oh, it's a love story between an Arab and a Jew; oh, they cross borders for each other; oh, they decide to make out in the middle of a West Bank village but (of course) forget to lock the door! And of course, one of them blows himself up, while the other one runs and hugs him and is blown up with him.... How many tired cliches did the directors miss? In my opinion, none.
2. well done Eytan Fox you make us proud
Simon ,   TA Israel   (03.19.08)
when all People abroad hear of Israel is hate and intollerence and religious corecion it is a blessing to us all at such anachievement. Well done Eytan Fox for his achievments in not only the world of field but in breaking down the barriers of fear concerning gay life. In this day and age when we are under attack from religious parties such as Shas that launch vicious hate campaigns against us . Eitan Fox is fightint back such stereo types and firmly putting Israel on the map and promoting tollerence and understanding. My hat comes off to you Sir.
3. #1 - Exactly!!!
AJ ,   Washington, DC   (03.19.08)
Some very compelling moments but all of the cliches you talked about. And the whacky politics: gratuitous swipes at the "tembelim" from Europe who built Tel Aviv, Noam's refusal to engage Ashraf in any discussion as to why the Machsomim are necessary to prevent attacks, the RETARDED ending - which made each character, Ashraf and Noam completely unbievable - and on and on. An OK movie, but hardly an award winner.
