It is not illegal to build settlements, that is an Arab position and is a contested issue both in the world arena and especially in the UN, Jerusalem is Israels capital and annexed land therefore it is not part of any commitment to a settlement freeze. Israel reserves the right to make laws the right of every sovereign state, as the Arabs states constantly mention, Jewish self determination is also allowed, or is it only the Arabs that are allowed.

Israel is a sovereign nation and should decide its own policies. Abbas has yet to live up to any roadmap condition but is not critized by Condi.

It's reasonable to wonder why Ms Rice concentrates her efforts on what is actually a very unimportant small scale problem. There are obviously many more important world issues that affect far more people. For example: Why isn't Ms Rice in China seeking a solution to China's oppressive occupation of Tibet? Why isn't Ms Rice in Sudan condemning the horrors perpetrated in Darfur? Why isn't Ms Rice in Russia discussing Russia's descent into authoritarian rule & their generally unproductive role in the world? Why isn't Ms Rice in Iran putting her foot down to stop the nuclear weapons program - or the B52's will be on their way? Why isn't Ms Rice touring various capitals in support of a Kurdish state - after all, there are some 25 million Kurds with no political rights? Why isn't Ms Rice in Saudi Arabia demanding democratic reforms, an end to Wahabi propaganda all over the world, & for good measure, some solution to high oil prices? Why isn't Ms Rice at the UN trying to organize practical measures to stop the worldwide rise in basic food prices? Why isn't Ms Rice in Pakistan urging the new gov't not to make a truce with the Taliban? The answer to all of the above is that no one gives a damn what Ms Rice wants, says, or does. No one will pay a bit of attention to her demands aside from being very hospitable & having a nice lunch. Except our government - they actually take this inept serial failure seriously. Which is why she keeps coming back - Ms Rice's foreign policy is based on an unusual principle - screw your friends & appease your enemies.

Rice will be out of a job very soon. She will want to go back to academia so she needs to have someone sponsor a chair for her at a prestigious university. I hear that the Saudi royal family are very generous in funding American universities.

The Bush Administration will appease the Arabs until kill they last Israeli! Mr. President, have you forgotton who, and with whose money, made that big hole in New York and the other in the Pentagon? When are you going to open your eyes? Almost 3,000 deaths in America and 4,000 in Iraq and you still don't see the danger.

Why is Rice pushing Israel around ? Its easy, Jews are easy to push around and they make the perfect scapegoats for all the problems in the Middle East. Puppet Olmert is a good example of one of many Israeli push over P.M.'s who gladly forwards the final solution Road Map agenda of the U.S. As long as the U.S. is screwing Israel ,the arab world will go along with their occupation of Iraq.
