While I'm sure that some of the so called Palestinian Arabs are descendents of Jews who were converted by the sword of Islam and some may even be the heirs of the Cananites, the majority of the people who now call themselves Palestinians are relative new comers nomads from Syria, Egypt and opther middle Eastern countries who came to the land once the Jews started cominng froim Europe cleaning up the land planting and making kibbutzim. and moshavim. They came looking for work ---for ecomic reasons and stayed on. They never called themselves Palestinians. It was the Jews who who referred themselves as such. The Arabs wore the keffiah of their native lands and called themsels Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptians Iraqis etc and sometimes they couldn't even speak to each other because their dialects were so different.
