The intent of the t-shirts was not to incite hatred. The intent was social commentary - likening the media frenzy of the Primaries campaigns to a TV drama/'80s pop-culture phenomenon. Meanwhile it also comments on American society's unwillingness and fear of having a presidential candidate who is "different". Anyone who misinterprets the t-shirts obviously doesn't know how to read. "Who killed Obama?" does not mean "go kill Obama".
