4. Peace station... my arce

It is a Pro Palestinian and pro Hamas station
5. # 4
Matt   (04.07.08)
Do you actually listen to it? Or is this just an accusation from off the top of your head?
6. Ram fm - Not a pirate
Clive ,   Suffolk,UK   (04.07.08)
Let's face facts Ram fm is not a pirate station, but licenced by the PA. If the broadcasting authorities had any sense they should have licenced an English language station years ago, especially after the closure of the VOP. Let's hope the organisation can continue after this illegal raid as the station is needed.
7. RAM FM
Sandra ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (04.07.08)
To: #5. I started listenting to RAM FM when it first began broadcasting because it played nice music and didn't have any advertising. After a while I got totally sick of their news bulletins. Talk about biased against Israel!!! So, I prefer to listen to Israeli channels, adverts and all.
8. Illegal Radio stations that disrupt BG airport are dangerous
David ,   Boston, USA   (04.07.08)
They need to be halted because they are illegal and dangerous.
9. except for the politics its the best station in Israel
mish ,   tlv   (04.07.08)
10. #1 & #4 - they broke the law, Period.
YMBMY ,   Modi'in, Israel   (04.08.08)
If it were a right-wing station, you'd be the first to celebrate. While I will admit that their programming and music is superior to that of the competition in most cases, their news is laughable. They bend over backwards to create news to suit their needs. They like to quote unnamed "sources" support their views.. If they had not been stopped for illegal broadcasts, they should have been stopped for the news they fabricate.
11. #6, don't confuse me with facts
tom ,   toronto, canada   (04.08.08)
ram-fm, operating from ramallah, is licensed by the plo, but ram-fm, operating from jerusalem IS an unlicensed (i.e. by definition, "pirate") station. what's so "illegal" about police in a sovereign country enforcing that country's laws, by shutting down an unlicensed radio station? and especially one that broadcasts propaganda from a "hostile entity" like the plo? if you miss the voice of peace so much, why don't you set up a REAL voice for peace, outside of israel's jurisdiction, like they were, and broadcast a real message of peace, like they did, instead of palestinian propaganda?
12. More double standards
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.08.08)
When are the police going to shut them totally down like they did to Arutz7?
13. Operate Within The Law
Christy ,   Boston, US   (04.08.08)
Whoever wants to 'get their message out' should do so within the law. This is to ensure the radio's broadcast doesn't cause danger to the air traffic control people. I hope that whatever message needs to be heard doesn't get heard at the expense of a life lost due to poor pilot communications with the tower.
14. RAM FM
mark ,   canada   (04.08.08)
Well Phoo on the radio Cops. That station, RAM FM, was all I could listen to and enjoy in Israel. I did not hear them broadcasting on frequencies other than what was announced. If they were what a sneaky lot. If somehow. it creates some peaceful dialogue, I am all for it. I cannot comment about the RFI ( Radio interference), but if they were interfereing with airports etc., then RAM will have to get with it. If there is some hidden agenda by some organization- (Popsicle Copsickle Thought Police), to shut RAM FM down, PHOOOOO on them. There was a great article about them (RAM) in the Jerusalem post last Christmas. There were NO detractors voicing their opinions,----from ANYONE. Perhaps they were not speading the Baksheesh!!!! So why now. Come on cops--- write me.
15. Ram "Peace" Station
Spencer ,   Israel   (04.08.08)
Clive of Suffolk...get your facts right! RAM, since its inception, has used the word "PEACE" to try and mask its complete bias against Israel. It's nothing more than a propaganda machine for the Palestinians. Apart from the fact that the station is pro-Palestinian, the station had no licence to operate on Israeli soil and it posed a danger to air traffic. THEY BROKE THE LAW! This legal police raid should have happened a long time ago. Well, better late than never and "well done" to the authorities for acting now.....
16. What idiocy!
H. E. Dobson ,   Jerusalem   (04.08.08)
Mark Regev and other Israeli government ministers recently congratulation RAM-FM on air on its one year anniversary. It had a licence to broadcast according the the IBA English News and the Jerusalem Post, when it opened up. It is NOT an anti-Israel station and this daft action merely reinforces the other side's perception of Israel as an oppressor.
17. Support for Ram FM
Jonathan Levy ,   Tel Aviv   (04.08.08)
It appears that the Israeli radio stations started losing audience share to Ram FM. They started to get worried by the billboard, adverts on buses and full page newspaper ads in the hebrew press and filed a complaint to the Communications Ministry. The Government in their nature likes to keep the monopoly running so they found a loop hole to try and silence Ram FM. Obviously until now not enough palms were greased by the owners of RAM FM. RAM FM is no more biased in its news than Haaretz, Jerusalem Post or YNET. On a daily basis they have the PM & FM spokesperson giving the Israeli government perpsective.
18. The Alte Kakker Broadcast Monopoly must not be infringed
Rami   (04.08.08)
For the Alte Kakkers wouldn't like that and would take measures.
19. Peace dangerous for Zionist project
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (04.08.08)
Like Abe Nathan's Radio Peace in the '50s this station is anathma to Israel which depends on hatred and fear of its neighbours for its ability to expand under a cloak of 'security'. One day, when Israel really wants peace, it might be just a little too late.
20. No 15 What Rubbish
Clive ,   Sufolk   (04.08.08)
Spencer, get your facts right..look at No 15 and the comments which are true. The station is NOT anti Israel, listen to Mike (Israeli) and Arda (Palestinian)..how anyone could say they are anti Israel. The reason for the raid is that the commercial stations licenced by Israel are losing audience to a superior station and thats why this happened. Look at the ministers who have been on the air at Ram, and the comments by Mark Regev, the IBA etc....
