I stopped going to see his movies when he molested and raped a teenage foster daughter from Korea and then jilted Mia Farrow, the mother of his children, to marry the slut. Taking in a grandchild or other relative is a duty if one is able to do so. Not doing that is equivalent to denying the faith. That is different from taking in a stranger who is unknown and possibly cursed by sins of the father and mother. Doing so is pure religion since that is defined as visiting (providing for) the widows and the fatherless in their affliction and keeping oneself unspotted from the world. But the hazards of doing so must be addressed so that those who take in children they are not related to and do not have a denial of the faith factor if they fail to do so...can be forewarned. Todays children are often brain damaged or mentally ill from drugs the mothers took while pregnant. The problem is so bad that in the early 1990's, a social worker in Tulare County, California, told me in the decades she had worked as a social worker, only ONE baby had come up for adoption that she knew of that was NOT a drug addict baby and that was a baby born to a ten year old child raped by an uncle. There is a time bomb in drug addict babies and children from brain damage. It was so bad in the late 1880's and early 1900's from cocaine in Coca Cola that not only was cocaine taken out of soft drinks, but Prohibition of alcohol became the law of the land in America, too. Children who were drug addicts from the womb kicked and bit and caused other behavior problems in schools. The country rose up in furor. That is how children going into foster homes and being adopted are being damaged,now: brain damage from the pregnant mother's illegal or legal drug use and/or poor diet or poor choice of diet during pregnancy. There is also the problem of children being unable to bond to adoptive or foster parents because of a lack of being held and loved as infants and children. At a certain point, the child can no longer bond and is a perpetual problem. It is estimated 75 % of the adopted children from Russian are psychotic since they were not held enough as babies. I have seen the consequences of such adoptions. It is horrific. One drug addicted baby a neighbor in San Diego adopted set his adopted sister's hair on fire and she was hideously scarred for life. That impoverished the famly from paying for plastic surgeries. Another family I knew that took in foster children was destroyed when one of the foster children told a lie. He said the foster mother tried to drown him in a bath tub. I had known the mother for over ten years at that point and believed her, not the child. Unfortunately, the child was told to lie by his aunt who did not wish to take him in and wanted to prevent an adoption of his sisters by the foster mother. She lost her teachers's license and foster mother's contract because a child told a lie. It can be very destructive to let strange children into your home and people should be warned of the risks. I prefered not to have children in my home since I like to eat and children can destroy a person's livelihood by lying. David thinks my posts are full of hate because he is probably apostate. perhaps this is a golden opportunity to change hearts and minds. instead of just landing in eilat, like an astronaut visiting the moon, mr. allen would like to spend some "quality time" with his people, and get to know them a little? maybe a quick visit to the mercaz harav yeshiva in jerusalem, and a short stay in sderot would help him to identify with his fellow jews. or maybe a shabbat on a kibbutz like nahal oz, or a brief shopping trip to qiryat shemona. a wise man once said: "there are no atheists in the trenches".
