1. What agreement?
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (04.10.08)
There's nothing to agree on.
2. Code words - "We've given away the store"
Shelly ,   Ceasaria   (04.10.08)
3. It'll be postponed for at least as long as toothless Olmert
Miriam ,   Israel   (04.10.08)
has some power. (Hopefully, he'll be replaced very soon.) After that, if Moshiach will G-d forbid not be here yet, we'll be’ezrat Hashem get a leader with JEWISH VALUES and MORALS and a backbone.
4. ...THAT IS THE QUESTION.
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (04.10.08)
THIS DOES NOT CONFORM TO A STRCT SCHEDULE THAT THE ROAD MAP IMPOSES.IT MEANS THAT ALL PREVIOUS ARRANGEMENTS COULD ALSO HAVE REQUIRED FURTHER CONSIDERATION.AND IF IT HAS NOT SUITED ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER,COULD ALSO BE BROUGHT TO THE TABLE AFTER FIVE FURTHER YEARS.THEREFORE IT SHOULD BE INTERPRETED THAT THE ROAD MAP IS DEAD( EXCEPT FOR THE NAME).CAN SO SENSITIVE AN ISSUE OF CONTROL OF JERUSALEM BE IN THE HANDS OF LIVNI AND ABBAS WHO HAVE JUST KILLED OFF THE ROAD MAP? MY PERSONAL OPPINION,WHICH COUNTS LITTLE IS...?????
5. Jerusalem is exclusively Jewish.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (04.10.08)
Jerusalem is exclusively Jewish. Arabs do not have any right on Jerusalem whatsoever. It is certainly not the fact that the Mosque of El Akza has been built in Jerusalem (when the Mosque was built, Jerusalem was already Jewish since 1500 years…) that gives the Arabs any right. Mosques have been built in London, Paris, Brussels and other cities. Does that fact give the Arabs any right on these cities ? There is no doubt about the legitimity of the Jewish sovereignty on Jerusalem as described at : http://xrl.us/bi7qx
6. Just giving Shas an excuse to stay in govt
I.N.Cognito ,   Brooklyn, USA   (04.10.08)
7. Jerusalem is the only key to a lasting peace
Feras ,   Ejerusalem Palestine   (04.10.08)
Israelies need to know that we love Jerusalem as much as they do and we will never accept a peace deal without sharing the city between our two people. SO delaying is a dangerous plan that will create more violence and bloodshed... Jerusalem should be like bruxelles, an open city a capital for 2 people.
8. The left lives in an alternative universe
Millie ,   Israel   (04.10.08)
Said Ran Cohen: “There can be no peace accord without an agreement on Jerusalem. Postponing talks on Jerusalem can only lead to disaster and more wars." Yep! See how well our pullout from Gaza is going. Spare us more garbage from these leftist wankers and the no-nothing State Dept.
9. THIS IS A PROVE THAT TALKS WITH ISRAELIS GOVERMENTS DOES NOT
(04.10.08)
give any results & no peace so Hammas & Hizbullah are right in their methods
10. This is only about Bush fellows... About his legacy
Palestinian   (04.10.08)
Nothing is going to be achieved eventually... There are only two ways out: 1- Complete withdrawal to 1967 borders. 2- Or one demoncratic binational state. else is a waste of time.
11. Miriam, read the Muslim perspective about Moshiach!
Muslim   (04.10.08)

12. #7 - You only love it because it belongs to Jews
Millie ,   Israel   (04.10.08)
Jerusalem is never mentioned even once in the Koran. Muslims turn away from Jerusalem when they pray. Muslims have a very late and skittish history there. On the other hand, Jerusalem is Judaism's holy capital city, Ir David, mentioned many, many times in the Old Testament. It is the subject of numerous, ancient Hebrew prayers and the City of Peace to which Jews have turned and bowed their heads for over 3,000 years. Next Year - and every year - in Jerusalem, the united Jewish capital city forever.
13. blood bath
sigmund   (04.10.08)
right of return will lead to a blood bath without a israeli nato us dictatorship run by genius technocrats .
14. Quit the Government now
Simon ,   Malha, Jerusalem   (04.10.08)
As we celebrate Israel's birthday the government seek to destroy it.. what a great present! If any of the parties in the coalition have any sense, they will quit the government and force a new sensible coalition that will pave the way for the end of the puthatic squabble of a Palestine - a dream that should never be allowed for it will see every Jew in the world having to live under an Islamic Empire, an ummah.. we are a small people but we are strong.. quit the government, build the temple, strenghten our army.. for we have a hard future but a future we will survive! Olmert - you look old and frail, I think Gd is telling you something - its time for a trip to Eilat.. enjoy something you can cope with, a deckchair!
15. All of Jerusalem is not Jewish!
Itzik ,   Sweden   (04.10.08)
Robert, the issue is not the Al-Aqsa or any other mosque. The issue is Jerusalem's 208,000 Arab inhabitants who does not identify with, and are not loyal to, the Jewish State. Insisting that the Arab neighbourhoods and villages in Jerusalem remain under Israeli sovereignity is not only asking for trouble, it makes no sense! There's a difference between the Temple Mount and the City of David on one hand and Shuafat, Umm Tuba and Issawiya on the other!
16. #9
Itzik ,   Sweden   (04.10.08)
If Hamas & Hizbullah are right in their methods why have their actions only brought misery and more misery to their own populations?
17. Such a deal guarantees conflict will continue
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (04.10.08)
Such a deal, especially if imposed, will not lead to resolution of this conflict. Quite the opposite. Israel's enemies will not have conceded legitimacy, or recognized Jewish rights to the land it holds, nor recognized it to be a Jewish state. The Palestinians would not have abandoned their "right of return". All being left for "later", they will continue saying "no" when the time comes. But by then, Israel will have given away its remaining bargaining assets. It will have ceded at least part of Jerusalem and a good chunk of the West Bank, leaving the country more vulnerable. When Israel is compelled eventually to retake some of this territory, it will not be taking "disputed" land, it will be taking Palestinian land.
18. Negotiate for whar??
Yossi ,   Canada   (04.10.08)
It boggles the mind that Jerusalem is an issue at all. Jerusalem was liberated in a war the arabs started. The arabs lost the war. What is this'give back crap'. The 'give back crap', doesn't work - ever. Israel can never achive peace with the arabs. They continuously teach consecutive generations that killing Jews is the most valient of occupations. Peace in this decrepid malignant atmosphere is impossible. Do not give back land, do not remove roadblocks. Do not trust the arabs. We must learn from sixty years of history, and especially since 1994, that the arabs do not keep their word and every time they are allowed more freedom of movement, Israeli citizens are sacrificed.
19. Nutty Deal
Sam   (04.10.08)
Since the Palestinians view the right of return as a right to return to Israel (pre 67 lines), any "agreement" that does not result in the Palestinians giving up this position is not an agreement at all and Israel must resist pressure to accept it
20. The US proposal for temporary five-year agreement
Emeq ben Yosef ,   Pahoa, HI   (04.10.08)
I told all of you this would happen! Well here it is, this "peace" being forced on us by the US is only for the posterity of the current US administration. Next we will be forced to aid in the re-arming of these terrorists during this lull. They will continue their arms buildup, their army buildup and when the current administrations are gone, on both sides, US and Israel, the terror will resume, this time in earnest. If you don't believe me, just listen to our enemies own words. They do not employ rhetoric as a weapon. Justice is its own discard. Satire is its own Petard.
21. What is the Palestinian position on refugees?
Sam ,   Canada   (04.10.08)
Until now, the Palestinians have demanded an unlimited right of return which is synonymous with the end of Israel and unacceptable. We have heard very little from these negotiations. Has Abbas made a different offer such as compensation or is there no change?.
22. # 12 Nonsense
Thomas   (04.10.08)
Everyone knows Muhammed flew from the Temple Mount to heaven on a winger horse like Perseus. You can't refute History that compelling.
23. the trick is to change from thin to thick skined RIGHT ???
M. S. ,   mpls america   (04.11.08)
I realize if 1973 was thin skined the next war must be thick skined right and so simple psychology answer to a difficult situation science always has the answers if you know exactly what to look for RIGHT ??? thank you... M. S.
