1. We shouldn't encourage the Germans to come
Israel   (04.13.08)
They cause arguments and chaos in hotels around the world because of their incessant hogging of sun beds – they get up at 5am, creep downstairs, and put their towels on every sun bed around.
2. Shalom, goodbye
New Yorker ,   NYC, USA   (04.13.08)
"Shalom"? That's your pitch? Pretty lame, pretty lame. I'd rather go see the Eifel Tower than meet a crowd of "shalomers"; I get that most days in New York. Perhaps, if you put a poster with a busty Israeli girl in a bikini with "Shalom" I'll consider it. I mean, afterall, that's what they do in the Hawaii commercials.
3. A Picture is worth 1000 words.....
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (04.13.08)
Forget about all that expensive advertising. Just put photo #12 of "Photographic memories from the valley" on Youtube, and you'll have gays, straights, young, old, rich and poor showing up in droves, looking for that Sahne springs swimming hole, hoping to get a peek at what?? That beautiful geography, of course!!! :-) And if perchance a skinnydipper should make an unscheduled appearance now and then, word would spread like wildfire. It certainly would knock "Achmed the dead terrorist" off the Youtube #1 spot.
4. @ We shouldn't encourage the Germans to come
david ,   paris   (04.13.08)
What a racist thing to say. Do you mean this or are you joking? Actually the thing you sais... i thought always the same thing about Israeli's haha.
5. The last ad at the end of the article is extremely bad
Hanoch ,   USA   (04.13.08)
from artistic point of of view. Nothing personal, but culdn't they find a real dancer or a model with good proportions instead of this short legged woman? Gosh...
6. Tourism
DENNIS GREENSTEIN ,   nj, usa   (04.13.08)
We ciome to israel often, for my wife to visit her family. To encourage tourism, the Min of Tourism should work to lower flight costs, lower costs of hotel stays, and provide more 4 star properties. Lat November, we had a heck of a time finsing a hotel in/around Tiberias, and paid through the nose for so-so accomodations, with no parking for our rental car. Infrastructure is key...I'll be back, but... only because I have to.
7. Farewell Tourists
Nick ,   London   (04.13.08)
It's Ironic that you have all these images of Israel as a place of peace and tranquility on the same page as a banner for 'Farewell Israel' depicting terror and violence, exactly what puts people off visiting Israel lol

Nick ,   London   (04.13.08)
Lol, People have been saying this for decades, I wonder if it's really true or just one of those myths left over from when we didn't like the German's
9. #4 Come On: #1 is Joking. All should be welcome
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (04.13.08)
#4 Come on now. It's obvious that #1 is joking. However I don't think that it's only the Germans who run to reserve a sun bed by the pool / beach at 6AM.
10. German tourists= for and against
zoot1a ,   tel aviv israel   (04.13.08)
At least the Germans dont pile their plates and then leave most of it, and then steal food from the dining room to make sandwiches at the pool

Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (04.13.08)
You're talking about the woman dancing on the beach? I think she's a beautiful woman... In my opinion it's better to take normal people from the streets, those you might find in any street café – than some models from an internationally working Model agency. After all, you'll find plenty of beautiful women studying at any university in the Western hemisphere, isn't it...?
12. 1# and 43, Germans born before 1928 cannot come
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (04.13.08)
Since they may have had involvement in Nazi atrocities. While at the Dead Sea I talked to a elderly German woman and I asked her where her husband was. She said that she was born in 1930 but he was born in 1923 and was not allowed into Israel
13. @1 :-)))
Patrick ,   Mannheim   (04.13.08)
hehe good one. Made me laugh. There is more than a grain of truth to it - I'll give you that. Germans are sunbed hogs. Headline in Mallorca-News yesterday: "Sunbed-Blitzkrieg! Ze evil Germans will occupy ze sunbeds like zat! " :-) OK -I'll let you in on a secret remedy - psssst! don't go around telling now! Just go down to the pool late in the evening and throw all towels in the pool. Repeat once or twice and the problem is solved. ;-) Now that I think of it, why don't you come to Germany and look at those evil Germans how they celebrate the "I Like Israel" day on May 8? Just pick one of the 65 cities, where it will be celebrated. In english: http://il-israel.org/index.php?set_lang=_2&idpage=2&
14. To #10
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (04.14.08)
You only disrespect food and not cringe at seeing it thrown into the garbage, if you've never been hungry as most older Germans - deservedly or not - have been in their childhood.
15. News Flash 90% of Israels beaches closed
Simon ,   TA Israel   (04.17.08)
just today it was announced that 90% of Israels beaches will be officaly closed as they will not be providing life guard protection. Will they be putting that on their web site? Or in other words, come to Israel get ripped off and theres always the possibility of drowning all for the same price !
