Israel didn't "conquer" anything; Israel retaliated. Syria had opened up a front against Israel during the 1967 war that previously was quiet. It attacked the "Upper Galilee finger" in the Tel Dan region, and bombarded the Galillee with aircraft and artillery. I do not know what kind of topsy-turvy world you live on, but clearly you apply to Israel different standards than you would apply to yourself. The entire history of Europe, until this very day, is predicated on the principle that "To the victor goes the spoils". The spoils are the Golan, and they are Israel's as of right, whether you like it or not.

If Olmert did in fact offer to return the Golan Heights to Syria they have an absolute right to know. We as Americans "stole" this land through our own conquest and have no intention of giving it back.
