BASED ON OLD WIVES TALES AND THE FRENCH ABILITY TO TRY AND MAKE JESUS A HUSBAND. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THIS THEORY. SUCH CRAP! REMEMBER WHAT THEY DID TO JOAN D' ARC?
3. More nonsense to prop up the Royals' claim to divine rights
Rivkah   (05.03.08)
of rulership. The divine right to rule in nations populated by the many tribes of the House of Jacob is by descent from King David, not descent from Yeshua. Historical records clearly indicate Yeshua did NOT marry. For him to have a son by Mary Magdalene would be a sin, thus disqualifying him as the sacrificial lamb advent of the Messiah. Mary Magdalene was the wife of Joseph of Arimathea who adopted Yeshua giving Yeshua the inheritance of the Throne Seat of the Sanhedrin after the death of Joseph of Arimathea. Joseph of Arimathea has not died. Yeshua said there would be people living when he was on earth who would still be alive when he returned (as the Lion of Judah to deliver the House of Jacob and those who are grafted in to that house). Joseph of Arimathea is the "Wandering Jew" who returns to Jerusalem and walks through a gate of heaven every Jubilee Year at the summer or winter solstace which is every 50 years or every 49 years, however you calculate it. The last Jubilee year was believed to be 1996. If Joseph of Arimathea reverted to the age of about twenty in 1996, he would look about 32 now. He may be one of the two witnesses who dies at long last after preaching the plan of the Lord from Jerusalem for a few years. Moses died already so he cannot be one of the two witnesses. Elijah and Enoch were translated, so it is possible they could be the other one. Time will tell. When the Messiah comes or returns, depending on your belief, he will take the Throne Seat of David on the Sanhedrin and rule the world from Jerusalem in the Messianic Era for a thousand years before another era begins.

Some questions to you - which historical records show that Jesus never married? There're no records apart from Gospels, but they can hardly be counted as historical records, besides they were written some 30-40 years after Jesus death, also The Council of Nicea is said to have seriously doctored and edited the Gospels in order to create a unified vision of faith. Mary Magdakene was a wife of Joseph of Arimathea? Any proof of that? Joseph was a member of Sanhedrin, how could his wife join a wandering prophet? I'm not opposing what you said, but I want to make a point - the records are so scarce and vague, that it's nigh impossible to prove any theory, unless one accept Christianity in blind faith.
5. Judging by the Crusader

coin, along with the Byzantine, I'd say that the objects' journey to France dates to the time of the Crusader kingdoms. Probably some soldiers' treasure from Richard Lionheart's crusade, brought back home. I reckon the majority of it was sold off by the soldier in question early on, with the rest kept buried purely out of sentimental value. The red cross probably dates from that early middle-ages era as well, further supporting that theory. But someone will always be there to start sensationalist bullshit, it would seem.

Nothing of what Jesus of Nasareth did or taught would become less in importance if he had been married with children. But this story about Jesus, Mary Magdalene and southern France is nothing else than a barefaced fraud in order to make some money for the swindlers. Only a credulous ignorant would take this "bloodline conspiracy" seriously. That said it must also be made plain that this is a very disrespectful way to treat the person of Jesus and the religious feelings of millions not to say billions of Muslims and Christians. I think it would be proper to show the swindlers that not everything is for sale in dollars.

Rivkah   (05.03.08)
Brunswick, Maine, and ask to purchase the essays on Joseph of Arimathea, the Wandering Jew, Mary Magdalene and similar topics. Ask for the sources which he has diligently researched. There were many manuscripts considered for inclusion in the Bible and many are still available such as "The Lost Books of the Bible". Mary Magdalene died long ago. She is not still living. She did have a daughter, but not by her adopted son Yeshua. She was brought to Yeshua when she was caught in the very act of adultery because her husband Joseph of Arimathea was out of town and Yeshua was the next of kin male. In such situations, the next of kin was expected to cast the first stone. He asked that whoever was without sin should cast the first stone. Being without sin, Yeshua could have done that but he chose to show mercy as long as she sinned no more. Many things must be believed by blind faith, but the historical documents of Yeshua remaining unmarried and childless are included in the Bible and also in documents not included in the Bible. The thirty year lag time was because a convicted criminal's name could not be mentioned or written about for thirty years. There were many people including the Apostles who were still alive thirty years later and able to give a first hand account of what happened.

had to remain alive for the two thousand years since Christ was on the earth. They are witnesses to the accuracy of the New Testament and Old Testament Bibles translated from the original texts so that at least one edition in each language is accurate although there are many editions and translations that are not accurate. Finding the accurate translation in one's particular language is important.
12. Jesus and marriage and children
Marilyn ,   USA   (05.03.08)
When Mary realized it was Jesus at the tomb, she called him Rabboni. He made preparations for his mother, but not her cause he didn't have the responsibility that he would for a family member. It is also not mentioned that he was married or had children (though his marriage to church is mentioned). Also John the Baptist wasn't married and no one tries to come up with eloborate stories about wife and children for him.
13. The Marys
Marilyn ,   USA   (05.04.08)
I guess one of the problems with having so many Mary's (and also a few unnamed women) in the New Testament is that they tend to blend together. Their actions were more important than their identities. When I look up bible verses about alabaster jars, it's Mary of Bethany that annointed Jesus twice, not Mary Magdelene.
14. 12 Marilyn: Good point on John the Baptist!
Rivkah   (05.04.08)
Yeshua gave the care of his mother Mary to his beloved disciple when Yeshua was on the cross. Some believe that was John and others think it was Lazarus. Mary Magdalene was very wealthy being from a wealthy family and being married to Joseph of Arimathea who had the metal weapons contract from the Romans for the area. It is curious why Yeshua is accused of having a wife and children but John the Baptist is not. The book "The DaVinci Code" explains why: the Royals of Europe want a blookdline connection to the Messiah so they can claim to rule by divine right.
15. Our community church believes Jesus was homosexual
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (05.04.08)
Personally I am not sure since every minority makes Him their own. Even Pastor Wright claims Jesus was black. As a Catholic Jew I think it is irrelevant.

18. A lot of Christians will be upset
Said ,   London, UK   (05.04.08)
I know Christians like to focus on the purity of Jesus, both body and spirit. But as a Jew, isn't it his duty to have children. And I'm also of the opinion that Mary Magdalene was NOT a harlot - that was invented by mysogenistic church men!

21. Rivka, Jesus was baptised by John for repentance of sin
John ,   USA   (05.04.08)
Read your won commentary concerning this. So what if Jesus was married and had a child? He was a man. Its the nations who need special man blood sacrifice to feed or appease a god, who concocted these stories.
22. Some sects did not holld to marriage at this time
John ,   USA   (05.04.08)
However....this doesn't mean Jesus wasn't married. The NT was a group of letters etc. chosen by a group who had control and power for specific doctrines they had in mind. Hardly proof that it is G-d inspired (especially since Jesus and disciples didn't preach out of it).

This is by my opinion, without any archaeological knowledge or training, and by written content alone, seems to be nothing more than a possible knight's templar tomb, with spoils collected from the crusades. Making the leap to the assumption that the articles discovered could be that of Mary Magdalene is just ludicrous.

27. 21 John: Yeshua was not baptised for the repentance of sin
Rivkah   (05.04.08)
as others were. He was baptised for the onset of his ministry so that the annointing of the holy spirit like a dove came upon him. Reread the passages. John was reluctant to baptise Yeshua saying he (John) was not worthy. John was a sinner in some ways, but Yeshua was not. Yeshua said of John the Baptist that none greater was born of woman. Yeshua was greater but he was born of a virgin.

Bernard ,   Ovid MI USA   (05.05.08)
It is a simple thing to assume. I assume that the logic of this planned film topic is flawed based on the illogical conclusions. They advertise that something "proves or suggests" Jesus married Mary Magdelene. Preposterous.
30. 18 Said: According to biblical researcher
Rivkah   (05.05.08)
Olaf Hage, Mary Magdalene was married to Joseph of Arimathea and was not a harlot. She was very wealthy and did not get paid for having sex with the man she was caught in adultery with. She sinned, but the sin was not prostitution. In that you are correct. Yeshua chose to adopt children rather than to have them physiologically. All who are a part of the House of Jacob or who are grafted onto that House are Yeshua's children. The Bible says to be fruitful and multiply, but that was not the mission of John the Baptist who did not marry or have children. And it was not the mission of Yeshua who came to be a sacrificial lamb to defeat the plan of Satan who wanted to destroy God's creation in a lake of fire forever. The devil is eternally separated from God and that is what he wants for mankind: to suffer as he will suffer forever.
