1. You're right.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (04.28.08)
But you can bet that this disclosure was done at the highest political echelon - in other words, Olmert & Barak. Somehow, they see their own self-interest in passing on this information. The security interests of the country are secondary. As in every aspect of Israeli policy, long-term consequences are ignored for short-term political advantage. It is perhaps ironic that we must sometimes spy on our American ally to obtain information while our own gov't. in effect, spies for the Americans.
2. For once I give Olmert and Barak credit
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (04.28.08)
Even though Condi Rice tried to convince Israel to do nothing Olmert and Barak realized the grave danger of this plutonium plant in Syria and bombed it to the ground. Now if Olmert and Barak would take care of Irans' nuclear installations they might even become heroes instead of goats.
3. Lack of loyalty to sources of information
lemmings hotline ,   sd usa   (04.28.08)
People in danger will think twice before trusting the Israeli Intelligence establishment to shut up.
4. Olmert & Barak can't keep quiet even about national security
Nannette ,   London   (04.28.08)
They should be jailed because they pose too great a risk to Israel, and Israelis.
5. have to admit it; intelligence success but military failure!
(04.28.08)
6. American sense of fairness
Ilan ,   Ariel   (04.28.08)
They expose and send one of our agents in Syria to their death and in exchange they arrest an 83 year old man and charge him with spying for Israel.
7. Now we own the American ZERO
Dr D ,   Jerusalem   (04.28.08)
After accusing us not to share info on 9/11 and feed them with fake proof on Iraq WMD that lead to the Iraq war ,Israel now paid heavily giving hopefully entire satisfaction to the American security establishment . Lets hope that the next round will be played more discretely .
8. Totally agree: We didnt need to know.(neither do they)
Scott   (04.28.08)
The release of this information has and will do nothing to improve Israel's security or well being. And of course the informants could possibly have been exposed and put in harm's way too. Really intelligent, really expedient. This is Olmert...again. What a wanker. I cant wait for him to get the ass.
9. #4 Get your facts right and show more respect
Sheila ,   Jerusalem Israel   (04.28.08)
Mr Olmert and Mr Barak kept quiet -the USA let the cat out the bag in order to give a clear warning to both N. Korea and Syria, it was actually negative for Israel. Since I see you live in London how do you know who said what to whom?
10. I too was shocked at the photos ...
Charlene   (04.28.08)
I too was shocked at the photos being shown to each and all persons. Location, direction seemingly onsite. Certainly the Syrians will search to find the source. Life risking and intelligence risking to have shown these photos to the public. How Foolish
11. US seems to have no problem "burning" Israeli assets
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (04.28.08)
It was the US that insisted Israel remain silent about the raid so as not to complicate its negotiations with North Korea. But as the Koreans have not met their obligations to reveal their proliferation efforts, the US felt compelled to expose them, even at the risk of burning Israeli intelligence assets. Whatever the US needed to do could have been done behind closed Congressional doors. One can only hope Israel's inside man is safe, but this exposure will surely inhibit others from working with Israeli intelligence. If you want to appreciate just how incompetent US intelligence has become, check out Bill Gertz' "Enemies".
12. The arial photographs of this so-called
World Citizen ,   the world   (04.28.08)
nuclear plant bear no resemblance to the straight-on elevation photgraphs of the building. Any fool taking more than a cursory glance can see that. To any thinking person this is just more of the same "yellow cake" intel furnished to the Cheney/Bush cabal by the Israeli Mossad. Citizens of the civilized world don't believe any of it. We see it as just more Israeli lies.
13. It was dirty bombs
Tom ,   usa   (04.29.08)
Of course it wasn't nuclear bombs they were developing. It was dirty radioactive bombs that could be carried in a suitcase that could be scattered with conventional explosives to contaminate a whole city and make it unlivable.

believe me, if israel lied, you would have seen hizbullah, iran and especially syrian retaliation. the fact that syria kept its mouth shut is precisely because they were caught and exposed and didn't want to draw further attention to the site by the world order and the nuclear commision. israel will never risk any of its iaf pilots to just "scare the syrians for no reason". iaf doesn't operate this way. this bombing was after probably a year of research, satelite images and full knowledge of what is taking place there by israel mossad and moles. the same goes for mughniyeh's killing. syria blocked any search for the colprit hit man because they knew that mossad can't be blamed. it was a syrian/iranian inside job which they had no proof in trying to foist it on israel as a responsible party. the syrians silenced both these events because they knew their discoveries would draw world attention to precisely what they didn't want discovered. why add fuel to the fire? imbecil!
15. Photos
Count Dracula ,   Los Angeles USA   (04.29.08)
Interesting that you assume that these photos are true. Israel may well be on the "hustle" again with phony documents. My disgust is that the US may have again accepted Israel lies as truth. Who benefits? Israel in still trying to get the US to fight its wars.
16. News for you, Fishman
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (04.29.08)
When a country finances you to the tune of $6billion a year you bet your butt that they're going to want something in return. Don't be surprised that this info was handed over. It was probably handed over in exchange for no public pressure on construction activities in East Jerusalem. Everything is a quid pro quo my friend.

Everything from israel are lies according to you.I know your mindset. The jews control all the media and theres this huge new world order conspiracy to rule the planet.Get a grip.I saw your response on the other blog denying that the arabs were the aggressor in previous wars since 1948.As for me ill believe what Israel has to say about Iran before any other country since they have the best intel in the world.Heres a saying from WW2 ,loose lips sink ships. The ship in this case is Israel. To the IDF and intel community, dont let any loose lips sink the ship. Thanks and Shalom.
