I wonder what reprisal there will be. Most believe the Jews to be weak. They'll be in for a rude awakening.

4. ...and you're just figuring this out?
Dan ,   Titusville florida   (04.30.08)
5. Wouldn't be surpised if over 90% of attacks are by Muslims.
Tahl ,   Israel   (04.30.08)
Especially in Western Europe. Whereas in places like Russia and Ukraine, it's more "traditional" antisemitism, by the brainwashed locals.
6. Messianic Jewish Rabbi Edward Chumney believes that
Rivkah   (04.30.08)
anti-semitism will increase because the Lord wants the House of Jacob in Israel: all the tribes. So the recent Israeli Supreme Court decision to allow Messianic Jews to come to Israel and become citizens is very important for them since they have been persecuted just as the Orthodox and Reformed and atheist Jews have been.
7. IT IS WHY WE MUST BE STRONG MORE THAN EVER WITH ENEMIES

hate of jews. like its not enough the israeli government is incriminating its citizens, it has its friend, the US to help for better or for worse. but dont worry, what ever israel does, the US will veto anything negative. israel is atleast safe in that aspect.
9. Depressing
Ahmed Kadret ,   Baghdad   (04.30.08)
Hi, as an Iraqi i find it depressing that people attack others in this day and age where people should rise above religion that we all know is man made and outdated. Its sad that people always blame Jews and hate this hate has to stop. I know its triggered by Arab countries and they always blame Jews and Israel for everything, I think that Israel has the right to exist and Arabs should learn from Israel and follow in her footsteps especially in the areas of development and education. In 60 years Israel managed to put itself on the world map as a civilized and modern state, I admire that and i think that Arabs should wake up and stop pretending that they want peace with Israel just to make the Americans happy, they should acknowlege Israel because they believe and want peace. If i wener prime minister i would apologize to Israel for Iraq's attacks in 1948, 1967 and 1991 when that Lunatic Saddam and his demented regime ruled. Being an Iraqi of european descent and my grandparents were settlers in Iraq who have moved from Georgia and Greece I understand what its like to have people treat u like u dont belong and not wanted God bless Israel and happy 60th independence day and u will be an example for people to follow.
10. #9 Ahmed Kadret BRAVO! WISH THERE WERE MORE LIKE YOU!!

ISRAEL COULD HELP HER NEIGHBORS WITH EDUCATION AND VALUES FOR LIFE IF ONLY THEY WERE CONSIDERED 'FRIENDS' INSTEAD OF ENEMIES. THANKS FOR YOUR FORESIGHT AND KINDNESS TOWARDS ISRAEL. SHALOM.

Thanks for your sincere response, wish more people from Muslem countries will see it this way..
14. #2 Islam, Not Muslims; thanks for the enlightenment
(04.30.08)
Muslims are just victims of the their religion, the same as Jews. I'd prefer to hear that from a religious Jew.
15. despite the absence of a direct "external catalyst"

kidnapping innocent soldiers is not "external catalyst"; are you out of your mind.
16. #9 so, you blieve that Iraq attacked in 1991 because it was
observer   (04.30.08)
not allowed in 1967?
17. This is due to leftists and their appeasement of racists
David ,   Boston, USA   (04.30.08)
The leftists today represent the rightists of old. These groups represent the terrorists or appease them. They need to hold equal weighting on all people. The second problem is with Islam and the way millions of Muslims are following it. Hamas and groups like that are a cancer spreading hate and incitement to commit murder. Saudi hate schools around the world are funded with petro dollars. Hold these groups and schools accountable.
18. Number sdon't add up.
Steve ,   Balad, Iraq   (04.30.08)
Did I miss something. For something to triple is equal to a 300 percent increase; quite a distance from 6.6 percent. I agree with the point, but it should be expressed more accurately.
19. #9 Ahmed Kadret
Said ,   London, UK   (04.30.08)
Though I agree with most of your talkback, why don't you mention anything about the Zionist crimes against Palestinians. Plan Dalet was hatched before Israel declared independence, hence before the '48 war, and it was a plan to ethnically cleanse Palestine of Arab so that the Jewish state can be built. One side apologising for everyhting is not called peace, its called submission! The Arabs should shoulder most of the blame, however the Israelis have much to answer for too!
20. #19 - enough with this Naqba rubbish.
Tahl ,   Israel   (04.30.08)
Yes. I do agree that when Israel was founded in 1948, some steps were taken to make it more Jewish, and that Arabs were uprooted from their homes. But, Israelis have nothing to answer to! This is war we're talking about, and in war, many people get killed, and uprooted. The Arabs' "Naqba" was completely their own fault - if they had accepted the division plan, they would have stayed right where they are. But no. This was not enough for them, they insisted on "throwing the Jews to the sea", they initiated a war on Israel, and they lost it. And as I said, war comes with its prices. The young Jewish state, could not afford to establish itself with a large part of its population bent on destroying it. Thus, this "Naqba" was the legitimate price the Arabs had to pay for starting this war. Throughout history, there have been countless examples of masses of people uprooted because of war. Does anyone make a big fuss today, about the hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians, who were transferred from Thracia by the Ottoman Turks? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Destruction_of_Thracian_Bulgarians_in_1913 The same should be for the Palestinians. Finally, can you answer me this, honestly: what would have become of the Jews' fate in Palestine, if the Arabs would have won, in 1948? Would the victorious Arabs let the Jews keep their homes in Jerusalem, Haifa, and Tel Aviv, or would they have simply slaughtered them?.... Answer honestly please.
21. Retracted Misinformation Haters Spread re:'Plan Dalet'
DemoCast.com ,   Los Angeles, Calif   (04.30.08)
In a letter to The Irish Times, Benny Morris sets the record straight: "ISRAEL-HATERS are fond of citing my work in support of their arguments. Let me offer some corrections. In defiance of the will of the international community, as embodied in the UN General Assembly resolution of November 29, 1947, (Palestinian Arabs) launched hostilities against the Jewish community in Palestine in the hope of aborting the emergence of the Jewish state and perhaps destroying that community. But they lost; and one of the results was the displacement of 700,000 of them from their homes. Most of Palestine's 700,000 "refugees" fled their homes because of the flail of war (and in the expectation that they would shortly return to their homes on the backs of victorious Arab invaders). THERE WAS NO ZIONIST "PLAN" OR BLANKET POLICY OF EVICTING THE ARAB POPULATION, OR OF "ETHNIC CLEANSING". Plan Dalet of March 10, 1948, was the master plan of the Haganah - the Jewish military force that became the Israel Defence Forces - to counter the expected pan-Arab assault on the emergent Jewish state. And the invasion of the armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq duly occurred, on May 15. It is true that Plan D gave the regional commanders carte blanche to occupy and garrison or expel and destroy the Arab villages along and behind the front lines and the anticipated Arab armies' invasion routes. And it is also true that midway in the 1948 war the Israeli leaders decided to bar the return of the "refugees" (those "refugees" who had just assaulted the Jewish community), viewing them as a potential fifth column and threat to the Jewish state's existence. I for one cannot fault their fears or logic."

First of all Israel wouldn't have harmed Palestinians if they accepted Jews and Arabs should have refrained from attacks starting in 1948, then maybe we would have had an Israeli state that would encompass all, Arab, Moslem, Christian etc. I am a second generation Iraqi and I can tell you that alot of Italians, Greeks, Russians, Slavs , Armenians, Ethiopians settled in Iraq even people from India who contributed vastly to the Iraqi culture and helped put Iraq on the may and during the 1970's we were one of the few nations in the Middle East who almost stepped up to become a second world country, but what do Arabs do? not all but most are illiterate, uneducated and hostile, My 78 year old grandmother was asked by Saddam's regime to leave Iraq during the early 1980's when I was just a kid, but because many of my family members had high positions in government and my father was a former Ambassador we managed to change that. Arabs are hostile, I live in a neighborhood now that is 50% vacant and i just returned recently back to Iraq after running away fearing the shiite and even sunni arab militias and minding our own business, what do we get we attacked daily by arabs without having done anything to them, they throw trash everywhere on our sidewalk and everyones sidewalk, they have no manners and are incredibly rude and uncivilized. Arabs are racist, if i qualify for a job but because my last name isnt Arab they dont want me, I have been asked by many to leave and go back to Georgia or Greece because of my ancestry. I came back because I own a few villas here and i dont want some retard squatting illegally. I love Iraq and i have done allot to promote it, Arabs attacked Israel first, and Iraq had no business attacking israel, we have no border conflict with israel and frankly look at us now, we are an occupied country war torn and where are the Arabs? they send us terrorists ,Iran sends us terrorists and the government in Iraq is shiite, i wonder what they would do if the government werent Shiite. Why all the hypocrisy, everyone bitched about Iraq's flag when it changed because of the blue stripes and now that the flag looks like an Iranian flag no one complains. I promote my ideals on http://factsofiraq.tripod.com/ and i have a new proposed flag God, Arabs were never nice to Iraqis and during Saddam's reign they didn't want us and they wouldn't even issue a visa to Iraqis and now its worse, with the plight of Iraqi people who even started selling their daughters as prostitutes in Damascus and Amman I don't see any Arab nation who has donated a cent to help them, albeit we have a sub-human rustic money whoring cash sucking cretinous government. So why dont Arab nations help Iraqis? If I ever become a politician you bet I will make Israel an ally and put all of you Arab states to shame. because you are pur enemy not Israel I have never witnessed any attack from Israel but from Arabs yes I have. and by the way Iraqis hate Palestinians, now I know why come on they send their kids 5 years old to kill themselves and they celebrate when a Jew is killed that is sick, I have never seen A Jew commit suicide and kill anyone.
25. continued
Ahmed Kadret ,   Baghdad   (05.02.08)
Lets be factual here, what is Israel supposed to do when they are attacked and threatened by Mahmood Nejad of Iran who wants to wipe them off the map of the World? or Hizbollah? are they supposed to say yes come kill us and take what we have worked so hard for in the past 60 years? that is not right, Israel will exist and they deserve to exist, Arabs can either choose to move forward or leave them alone. Islam doesn't say hate or kill Jews or anything like that, just as it doesnt say persecute women and make them wear veils, it says veil your eyes look at women with respect and dont see them as sex objects. God, you all remember the Miss Iraq beauty Pageant in 2006 everyone complained and whined about it calling it names and saying that Iraqi children are dying while some elitists are celebrating a beauty contest? well Iraqis are still dying i dont see anyone doing anything about it? at least this beauty contest raised some money for the refugees and visiting children at orphanages. If Muslims were educated they would stop having kids and learn to adopt those who dont have love and are thrown away like they dont matter, you will be respected when you learn to love and get rid of yoru hatred and demented sick ideas. I am a Sunni- Muslim, but Im an Atheist Muslim, religion is logic and reason and it evolves over time, God cant tell me what to wear or drink or eat as long as I dont harm people I should be a decent human being and life is about Karma what goes around comes around.
26. Response to No. 16
Ahmed Kadret ,   Baghdad   (05.02.08)
# 16 Saddam attacked in 1991 because he wanted some losers like the Palestinians and rogue riff raff Arabs ( not the educated ones) to support him, he wanted to show off like being the Hero Arab who suffers from a major inferiority complex that he was a hero and bald as being the only courageous Arab to attack bad and evil old Israel. Sick guy and still he was executed like a dog
