3. Revise yourself not the prayers -Leave our holy prayrs alone
Miriam ,   Israel   (05.07.08)
The prayers that were established by our Holy Sages thousands of years ago, apply to all generations and is pleased to G-d. If there's need for changes, we should change ourselves to higher spiritual levels since we live in the holy country, G-d has given us.
4. Might I suggest adding a phrase such as
Che Vive ,   Ghetto Beach, U.S.A.   (05.08.08)
"Grant all Israelis the depth of spirit and heart to embrace all its residents as equals, and to make that most desirable condition of peace and mutual respect with all its neighbors"? Without such a sentiment, the rest is largely meaningless, and that applies not just to the prayer, but the state itself.
5. #1-Simon-The TYPICAL TA leftist
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (05.08.08)
Will only be happy if the Jewish State dies! I always wonder why these miscreants don't just leave? If they are so unhappy here, there are always other places for them...like gaza city where their philosophy is more to the local liking
6. Miriam the Am Haaretz
Mordechai   (05.08.08)
Miriam clearly you are not a Torah scholar. The fact you became religious a few weeks ago and bought yourself and english language artscroll siddur does not make you an educated Jew. There is no prohibition on creating new texts for prayers. Indeed a good example of that is the piyutim said on the high holidays. The Av Harachin prayer is also of very recent vintage. Selichot are also very recent.
7. to #3
Moshe ,   Tel Aviv   (05.08.08)
come on, the prayer for Israel is new and was only added recently so no need to be so serious about this tongue in cheek piece. I liked it!
8. prayer for israel
hedy ,   austria   (05.08.08)
....and heal all the hurts and wounds in their hearts and fill them with forgivness to all and to themselves and open their inside sight so that they might see in anew way behind the veils of illusion and gain a new and deeper understanding that fills their hearts with compassion and inner peace and unables them to find completely new tools and ways for peace and mutual acceptance so that they can move forward and help create a new world as bearers of light and love and a new counsciousness- Amen

hedy ,   austria   (05.08.08)
and when we have changed and gained a higher level of spiritality we will have al our own prayers as our life will be just a celebration of the divine :-) te prayers are only meant as a help but what comes from your own within is so much more authentic and near to God.
10. Miriam, you don't even know when was each prayer and why...
John ,   Europe   (05.08.08)
...made, so kindly shut up. Uri, I love your version of prayer. The trouble is that you can actually change "Jew" for and other nation and you will get similar results. :)

moriah ,   sacramento,USA   (05.08.08)

13. Uri, your prayer is our prayer

Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (05.08.08)
15. Prayer for Israel
Shoshannah ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.08.08)
While prayer is good and connects us intimately with G-d, even better than asking him to fix everything is if we would first fix ourselves, as in this verse (2 Chronicles 7:14): "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." While being humble and seeking G-d's face are important, nothing will change in Israel nor in the whole world until we "turn from [our] wicked ways..."
16. To nos. 3 and 6
Naftush ,   Israel   (05.08.08)
The prayer that U. Orbach modified was written by S.Y. Agnon upon the attainment of independence.
17. United Synagogues Nusach
Gedalia ,   Australia   (05.08.08)
May the Supreme King of Kings in his Mercy bless the Governors of the land of Israel, and may they eventually find somebody to legislate for its benefit.
18. Uri Orbach ,NIce Prayer but you FORGOT THE LAWYERS ; -)
YITZAK BEN SHLOMO   (05.08.08)
19. #6 You are talking about being an Am Haaretz?
Miriam ,   Israel   (05.08.08)
The Av Harachamim and Selichot prayers were very recent - a few weeks ago. Hah? How dare you compare prayers and piyutim composed by holy tzaddikim with some words from secular Jews who hate G-d with a passion and despise His Torah.
20. #1, No wonder Tel Aviv is in trouble
Jake   (05.08.08)
It has been taken over by post-Zionist Leftists, like #1, who would rename Israel 'Smolanistan' if they could.
21. Will Purify One's Existence.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (05.08.08)
AS long as the supremacy of "Our Father in Heaven" is acknowledged -- it cannot be but a nice, good prayer. WHAT is interesting, though, in this prayer created by Mr. Orbach is that all of us, namely, ministers, leaders, advisors, contractors, merchants, celebrities, beggars, journalists, bureaucrats, rabbis, judges, intellectuals, IDF soldiers, the rest of us -- all of us, we should examine whether we are thinking of YAHWEH, the Supreme Lord, while carrying out our respective duties. Because by thinking of YAHWEH while being engaged in one's respective jobs will purify one's intelligence, will purify one's heart & mind, and will purify one's existence.
22. To Moriah #12. Praying To God.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (05.08.08)
You are correct for stating that we, human beings, need to pray to God. Praying to God is for our benefit -- it doesn't benefit God. God, the Supreme Lord, doesn't need to be benefited. WHY NOT ? Because the Supreme Lord is already the OWNER of every planet, every thing and every living entity. AN example to clarify this point : when someone carries water to the ocean -- does the ocean becomes benefited ? No. WHY not ? Because the water came from the ocean.

Singh you are akin Talmudic Sage :-)
24. Miriam
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (05.09.08)
Stop taking yourself so seriously! The prayer for the State of Israel is a recent one! And if you can't see the purpose of this 'revised' prayer, then I really feel sorry for you. You are extremely closed-minded.
25. the same prayer
.... ,   jerusalem   (05.09.08)
i listened to it from mosque from sheehk but sure the state is palastine and the enemy is israil . i believe the god is the same that both pray to it .. but to whome will he listen . i think .the pray must be first personal then to all or to the state ,i think god will judge evry one as a person not as a part of state
26. If bb gets in, this prayer is the only thing anyone will say
Bob ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.10.08)
