31. Living dead
lazarus ,   USA   (05.14.08)
His family can just wheel him through a tunnel into Egypt and then go to an Egyptian or Saudi or Sudan or Somalia or Libya hospital for treatment.
32. Playing dead is a common game in Gaza

33. Palis waiting for a permit
Zuri ,   Sydney Australia   (05.14.08)
In general I think Israeli government should do more to avoid holding sick Palestinians who needs urgent medical attention and for any reason want to cross our borders. We have to treat the Palis in the most humane way and offer them help, however I see a lot of bad things happening at check points where Palis come to pay us back with terror, suicide bombing, and armed civilian ready to stab, shoot, or do anything to our soldiers. we cannot let it happen, even though the Palis has exactly same human right as Israeli, I think Palis has turning into and animals, deprived of proper leaders, their leaders corrupt , and people are poor with no-hope for their future We are fighting an un-winnable war against each other, and until palis stop killing one another the task of having peace and safe border crossing seems bleak. As an Israeli living abroad I do feel unhappy about the situation, but I know, If we all want to stop, it must come from the Palis side instead of fighting one another build more schools and hospitals in gaza instead of killing each other bring teachers, and start sending them to a good universities instead of bombing Israeli territories cultivate Palis lend to grow food all money coming from American donors and EU countries can be used for building your infra structure and independent export import rather depending on hand-outs I do feel sorry for the people crossing the border, men, women and children and the long wait sometimes days, it is unfair, but I can't think straight when the only thing is Survival
34. To all defenders of Human Rights :
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (05.14.08)
You should have the courage to denounce and to fight the real fanatics, to defend the real victims of cruelty, perversion and abuse of power as shown at : http://xrl.us/biz87
35. To #12 You are Wrong!
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (05.14.08)
You are wrong and I'll tell you why. I remember a few years ago, a teenage girl was traveling back and forth from Gaza to Bersheva to be treated for burns she got in a home accident. She was caught with a bomb under her clothes before she could get into the hospital. A Palestian doctor who worked in that hospital wrote a scathing column in the Jerusalem Post because he was so mad at the Pals who sent her. We are not obligated to give medical care to enemies who want to use our goodwill to murder us. That is the reason why these people have to be carefully screened before being allowed in. You do not state where you live. I assume you don't live in Israel, so you have no idea what we have to live with every day.
36. the bottom line; denied permit due to death/health problem

37. No, Observer, denied a permit
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (05.14.08)
Because he was a potential security risk, and didn't bother to go to the questioning to prove that he wasn't. You should also note (not that you will) that he was treated with a degree of suspicion because Shin-Bet were already familiar with his name, and didn't like what they knew about him. Yet instead of attending the standard procedure to get a permit, the man "died" - thus postponing any chance he had for an entry permit to Israel ad infinium. He can thank his brilliant family, and the sensationalist reporting regarding his death at the hands of the Evil Israeli Bureaucracy. The bottom line is that we have the right to check the background of the people entering our country, especially if said people come from a very hostile (to us) region. We already had people seeking medical care here coming over with an explosive belt (the "resistance" liked the idea of people who could go kill Evil Zionist Doctors), so we have to be alert for anything. But why should you care, eh? For you, us Israelis be Evil, and that's that.
38. Just to play the PR game "blame instead of shame"
Dean ,   Dan   (05.14.08)
in Gaza, if cancer doesn't kill you - your family will.
