1. Israel won't offend their god as he visits
Marcel ,   Florida   (05.14.08)
The grad attack against Ashkelon must be covered up as it might harm the celebrations in the land with their masters visit. It would certainly offend their god George if Israel were to go after the Islamic terrorists he has helped to create in Gaza with his Road Map. And so Israel will do nothing to anger their god as he visits his obedient slaves. The nation of idol worshipers sacrifice their children to the god they serve for no peace in return. The only thing the leader of Israel has left to do is talk tough as we know he will never do anything of substance tro end Hamas or Hezbollah. It is against his religion of Worship god's America/Bush.
2. olmert is keeping his promise of disengagement
CHAIM SCHONBRUN ,   brooklyn ny   (05.14.08)
this criminally insane traitorous gangster, who is masquarading as your prime minister, when he ran for office, promised you DISENGAGEMENT,well well he is keeping his promise/you are being DISENGAGED not only from gush katiff, but from sderot, ashkelon, and soon from ashdod, and eventually from all of israel, citizens of israel if you don't get rid of this monster, you can start packing your bags, and make sure to close the lights behind you. I WEEP FOR YOU ISRAEL
3. Enough is enough.........
marc ,   London, England   (05.14.08)
It is clear the government is impotent. It is clear that the IDF strategy of targeting terrorists is not a deterrent. Why not start an Israeli "terror" group, which indiscriminately fires "home-made" missiles back at the general Pali population. Of course, the IDF will attempt to reign in this group, but will be unsuccessful.... For each mortar, kassam or grad that crosses into Israel, send 2 equivalent "shalom" rockets back!!! Don't open the border for medical assistance, or any other kind of assistance. Let their Egyptian "brothers" help them... And while you're at it....get rid of that imbecile Olmert. Dan Gilerman is clearly the best man for the job, for the future of Israel...... Enough is enough......now is time for action, not hot air. No land for peace.....peace for peace!!!
5. Way to go Barak !! You showed them !!
Yisrael ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.14.08)
Can this government be more pathetic ? We bleed, while they dine in fine style on our tax shekels. Stay tuned for more revolting developments. It ain't over.
6. Launch site
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (05.14.08)
The rocket was not launched from Bet Lahiyah which is out of range of Ashkelon. The rocket was launched from the ruins of the Jewish village Dugit, destroyed and given to Hamas by the Sharon regime.
7. perhaps we can negotiate..
eddie ,   london UK   (05.14.08)
ease restrictions, reacha hudna, allow mor eapons into gaza, and also open roadblocks on the west bank.
8. This would have never happend if.......
Dov Jacobs ,   Hasmonaim, Israel   (05.14.08)
This would have never happened if we wouldn't have given away Gush Katif and Northern Gaza. I mean there were missles shot out of Gaza but none of them have ever reached that far. The answer to that is because we were able to stop them from getting them because we had the sea in Gush Katif. We were able to stop them from shooting into Ashkelon because we also had Northern Gaza and that was a huge mistake to give away. With love of Israel Dov Jacobs
9. The rules currently favor the terrorists, and have to change
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (05.14.08)
Prof. Alan Dershowitz, visiting in Israel, says ‘rule of law’ must adapt itself to fight terror threat. He will be teaching how the rule of law has to change, to adapt to the new realities of suicide terrorists who use human shields and thus place democracies in a difficult situation. They take advantage of our higher morality, forcing democracies to choose between doing nothing or inevitably killing civilians. The rules currently favor the terrorists, and the rules have to change. Prof. Alan Dershowitz, Irwin Kotler, who was Attorney General and Minister of Justice in Canada, former Israeli Supreme Court justices, and Americans as well should attempt to redefine jurisprudence.
10. Bush's RoadMap to War to World War 3
Mark ,   Boston   (05.14.08)
Bush is 100% responsible for 9/11, the Iraq war, and the spread of Islamic terrorism. The whole war on terror is bogus. Bush has spread terrorism and violence throughout the world. 9/11 Was an Inside Job!
11. Barak will punish Gaza...20 minutes of no electricity.
Jack ,   San Diego   (05.14.08)
12. How can you let this happen
Ofir Shani ,   Brazil   (05.14.08)
I plead for the government / army to start taking some serious action againsta Gaza and Iran. I understand that the international community will frown upon such action, but the international community isn’t being bombed daily. How can a country that I thought strong, be so weak . What are you waiting for, a nuke from Iran? Israel cannot let any type of lethal action against her, no matter what. 1 Israeli life should be worth more than all Gazans for the Israeli government. So sad watching such a weak and unable government, that takes it time. Lets move the Kneset to ashkelon and see how they like it.
13. what gaza is good for...
ilan ,   ta   (05.14.08)
way to go gaza! they just showed israel once again that they don't want a country or to be civilized. they have done it to themselves again. they really don't want a country, and they show this time and time again.
14. Look to things with two eyes !!
Ali ,   Gaza   (05.14.08)

15. happy independence day
rushdi ,   gaza   (05.14.08)
happy independence day
16. Hypothetically speaking
Harry O ,   USA   (05.14.08)
Just hypothetically speaking, if it came out that Olmert was receiving money into offshore accounts to betray Israel, how many readers would be surprised? And in what way would his actions appear different from how they look now?
17. You Reap What You Sow
Raymond ,   South Africa   (05.14.08)
This Kadima led government is an absolute disgrace. Never the less the Israeli public voted them in, accepted disengagement from Gaza, believes in peace & pussy footing around with its mortal enemies. Shows weakness & so in turn strengthens the resolve of the enemy. Their can be no peace with an enemy who has sworn to destroy you, refuses to recognise you & is beating you hands down in this war of attrition, as well as the international PR game. The Arab masses will never ever recognise the state of Israel, irrespective what their governments indicate. Governments come & go, so should Olmert & company. If you you dont give your enemies the biggest hiding yet, so they wont forget it for a 1000 years, you the people & the Jewish state of Israel will really cease to exist in the not to distant future. What a great pity.
18. Hey we all Know Rice & GW will find a way to blame Israel...
Roy c. Hudson ,   Pittsburg USA   (05.14.08)
They will over Look the PLO=Abbas =Hamas=Arafat=Saudi Arabia+ GW's OIL Buddies. They will tell Israel Don't shoot back it will make things worse is all.!! after 60 years TZipi Olmart,Rice & GW trust the Islam minded people ??? It is past time for Israel to take charge in their own Home land & kick all the PLO buddies out of the Land,, Roy C Hudson USA 5/14/08
19. #1 Sad but true. #4: Bush is no friend.
Steve ,   U.S.   (05.14.08)
Bush is with the jihadists. Still he is considered Israel's "best friend ever!" by the Jews.
20. What is wrong with the Israeli people?
elijah888 ,   USA   (05.14.08)
Not enough Israel is brought back to it's people after 2300 years as written in Isaiah chapter 66. Not enough Jerusalem is brought to Israel's control in 1967. Not enough Abraham is brought into being 1948BC and Israel reborn 1948AD. Your country is secular not G-d fearing, but Pali/Arab fearing. If G-d stands with me WHO can stand against me? obviously means nothing to the Israeli government NOR the majority secular population. With your homosexual parades, breaking G-d's laws, not defending HIS land against His enemy your shame and humiliation is spread world wide leaving the rest of us to wonder if you even believe in the power of your G-d. After 5,000 rockets and relative government inaction, what kind of true believer stands behind a secular government to defend G-d's land. Sadly, Israel's enemies don't have this conflict which would probably explain why they keep getting stronger.
21. Enough !!!!!
David Masada ,   Orlando, US   (05.14.08)
How about the Army takes over and jails all of the members of this inept government? What are we waiting for, Bush is a lame duck and Olmert is a crooked vulture. An eye for an eye. Why are we acting with the WW2 mentality again? Are we just going to stand there and let the arab monsters kill us one by one???
22. Ashkalon attack
Neal Rothner   (05.14.08)
We told you so! It was only a matter of time! Neal the Hasmonean
23. Sacrifice own population for what purpose?
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (05.14.08)
This is getting very hard to comprehend.
24. Rocket Attack on Ashkelon Mall
June ,   Ashkelon   (05.14.08)
Firstly I wish all the injured a refuah shlemah and secondly as one of the local residents of Ashkelon I would like for the information of the IDF, to caetgorically state that there was absolute NO siren sounded anywhere in town before this attack!
25. Good. Perfect and way to go!
E.s. ,   Montreal Canada   (05.14.08)
I totally support the choice if Islamic djihad, Hamas in their struggle with the sionist barbaric regime. They have the right to defend themselves. The only suggestion will be: please choose better and more efficient missile, at leat a Grad that coud reach T.A. BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY WAY OLMERT AND BARAK THE COWARDS WILL MOVE THEIR BIG FAT TUSHIES AND CRUSH YOU, PATHETICS (so-called) PALESTINIANS! Thank you.
26. BUSH AND RICE SHOULD GO TO VISIT THE INJURED!
NO TO A "PAL"STATE"   (05.14.08)
27. Mr. Bush it’s time to push the button
Shlomi   (05.14.08)
28. we regret the tragic accident & will order investigation
Al-Quds Brigades   (05.14.08)
as our heart is so broken for our daily civilian casualty, we can't but say to Israelis we much appreciate your anguish and will work to fix the matter.
29. #3
FED UP .... ,   haifa israel   (05.14.08)
marc, i think we need people like u in the Israeli Government, we the people of israel are fed up of thinking and hearing that we can negotiate with these terrorists, they are disgusting, every day they wake up thinking "how many jews can we kill today" - what a life, they kill their own sisters and brothers, so how do we think they can have peace with us.
30. Why dont you agree on ceasefire
Dr. Sana Najeeb ,   Canada   (05.14.08)
Hamas offered you along ceasefire, your government refused the hand of peace, and then this was the answer. No wonder to see that Israel is declining and counting its last days as it is 60 years old, full of sicknesses and corruption and absolutely distorted vision. Israel has maybe more a couple of years before becoming HISTORY!!!
