He was an advisor to Arafat and probably one of the reasons why Camp David failed so miserably because Bargouti was a behind the scenes man giving Arafat advice. This is Bargoutis vision of peace and this is the same man we want to do business with .. why dont these idiots look at what Bargouti offers not the fact he isnt Hamas and he is popular amongst Fatah suppoorters.

Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer should be sacked for this. We cannot people with such low regard for the sovereignty of law in our society. If the Prime Minister will not sack him then sack the Prime Minister. Too many people these days think the life and times of the people of Israel and Palestine is like the characters in a Playstation computer game. Anyone who believes a convicted serial killer is a reasonable candidate to lead Palestinian society is in need of psychological counselling. Maybe the British and Americans should have released Rudolf Hess and let him become president of Germany during the Cold War eh! In this struggle for peace in its independence the State of Israel is engaged upon the greatest mission since the time of the Patriarchs and Judges of the ancient nation. Future generations will have no admiration for a generation today who are so willing to surrender to terrorism. Barghouti might be influential and courageous in his own society but we don't want his kind as our ally. How can we stand up amongst the truly GOD fearing people of this world if we act to ignore our morality as Minister Ben-Eliezer advocates. Barghouti must serve the full term of his prison sentence. Then if he lives let him make Haj to Mecca and pray for the souls whose lives he destroyed. That is not limited to those he killed but all those in Palestine and Israel who have been denied peace and harmony by another homicidal maniac who thinks they can be a law unto themselves. He is lucky the Israeli judicial decision didn't sentence him to death.

Barghouti was abducted in Jenin in the first place, and not killed, for exactly this purpose of serving as the future Palestinian leader. No Palestinian group or faction can disagree with Barghouti leading them to statehood.

First of all, Barghouti was apprehended in Ramallah. Secondly, the Palestinians may be given a state on a silver platter, but they don't want it and won't be able to hold on to it, because they have no national aspirations. They just want to wipe out Israel and the Jews.

israel should be WEAKENING her enemies, not seeking ways to strengthen them. this false mirage of peace with the arabs has tricked israeli leaders into giving away land, freeing murderers, and supplying guns and training to terrorists. has any of it brought peace? put away the drugs and self-delusion, and realize that there are no quick fixes to the conflict. the solution is not "arafat" or "abbas" or "barghouti" or even "bush", but "victory", after a long and hard fight that maybe only our children's children can hope to achieve.

Recently, Fatah was trying to oppose his release, while Hamass has been pushing for it. Doesnt take a brain surgeon to realize that Barghoutti will only prop up Hamass
