1. Indict him now!!! Why wait untill the end of the Summer???
Dov ,   Xichron YaĆ”kov   (05.25.08)
We can't afford to have this clown in power even for one more day. A war could break out during the summer. The indictment needs to come much sooner!!! 3 months is a long time for Olmer to continue to screw things up. Wake up!
2. He can do a whole lot of damage till then
Millie ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
He should be forced to step down - TODAY. He certainly won't do it himself.
3. Dov, Zichron Yaakov, I agree with you 100%
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (05.25.08)
4. Goodbye Kadimah in the Local Elections in November!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.25.08)
Indict NOW with what you have, AG Mazoz before he can damage the country even more! He MUST resign NOW!
5. He will have time to sell out the country
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.25.08)
By summer's end it may be too late. That would give him time to give away a large area of our country and to divide Jerusalem. He must be stopped now before he causes irreparable damage.
6. GILAT SHALIT IS A CONSPIRACY !
YITZAK BEN SHLOMO   (05.25.08)
ThIS OLMERT AND HIS TEAM , HAMAS AND FATAH PLAYED THE GAME ! ISRAEL WAKE UP.
7. #1 because indictment requires proof in a democratic country
Sheila ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.25.08)
Why not simply yell "Off with his head" and be done with it!!! Has it ever occured to anyone that the allegations may be the spin in all this. Watch the movie "Dave" and see what happens to the Vice-President after one and a half hours!!!!
8. #1 - If they indite him now he will walk free regardless
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.25.08)
Rule of law says that you can not indite on rumor or other speculation. Also, if they indite him now it is based on his word that he would step down, as there still is no law to force him to do so. Basically if they are waiting until the end of summer it means they do not have a case (yet).
9. #7 is right, but we know it is mostly spin
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.25.08)
The religious leaders on the right came out and took credit for it being spin last week. They want credit for plotting the whole thing and the timing of it because they were afraid that Olmert might do what Sharon had offered to do - split Jerusalem. So far people are screaming about what Olmert is offering in order to stay in power, but he is only offering what Israeli PMs have offered over the past 10 years - in fact he is offering less.
10. Tony Blair gave Mr. Olmert some good advice...
Rivkah   (05.25.08)
It was the same advice the Lord gave to Moses long ago when he was under affliction from critics in the crowd of four million Hebrews he led out of Egypt. The advise was, "GO ON!" I disagree with some of Mr. Olmert's policies and wish he and Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair could see the wisdom of abandoning the Roadmap for Peace.
11. Wow! I didn't know that Israelis were such sheep!
susan ,   Jerusalem   (05.25.08)
Think for yourselves don't just read the press and repeat!!!!
12. #1-6 Remember: The "Democratic" Self-Appointed Courts &
Miriam ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
High Court are Leftists and are not against giving away the Golan, Judea & Samaria, Sderot, Ashkelon, Haifa and Jerusalem and what not for so-called "peace", as long as they can keep Tel-Aviv. The only option is demonstrations and protests for new elections or overthrowing this government forcefully IMMEDIATELY.
13. #11 - Yes. We need to do something
Millie ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
However, we can't just go running about aimlessly with placards. If only the opposition groups would get off their lazy butts and organize, not just rallies in J'lem and T-A, but persistent protests around the PM residence in Rehavia, the Knesset and other choice locations. We should have massive protests in every part of the country demanding he resign immediately.
14. Indictment by end of summer
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya   (05.25.08)
Have we got to wait that long !!!!!!!!!?????
15. SELLING the country to SAVE HIS SKIN. Who needs him? Iran.
Jeff ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
16. If the Investigation is Inept....
guy ,   los angeles   (05.25.08)
Then it will be worthless....For awhile "well" placed sources said an indictment was "imminent"...now the sources who are supposed to remain absolutely silent have pushed this pretty far off...and very few here realize that if the courts determine there has been a political agenda involved with this investigation, the whole thing can be thrown out ...the "Off With His Head" crowd hasn't yet figured this out....
17. #10 But the Lord was leading him INTO & NOT giving it away!!
jan ,   michigan, usa   (05.25.08)
18. By end of summer? He'll be living in damascus by then
Arie ,   BaGolan   (05.25.08)
19. Olmert:Tool of the ayatollahs
Dr. Dave ,   USA   (05.25.08)
The last thing he intends to do before being dragged out of the Knesset kicking and screaming is surrender the Golan to Assad. Then the Iranian noose around Israel will be complete. When the smoke clears Olmert & family will seek "asylum" in Paris living high on the hog compliments the ayatollahs.
20. Sharon saved olmert
Doron   (05.25.08)
by changing the rules to make absolute majority requirement in knesset for no confidence. it made the government 'more stable' but less accountable. this rule needs to be changed, israel is too much a place in flux to have a government that can sit in place and damage a country for so long without being removed.
21. indictment
sas ,   israel   (05.25.08)
summer is here - why wait until the end...............................so that he can get more bribes. the man is SICK when it comes to money and his wife too.
22. the summer is to late if we are going to survive
zionist forever   (05.25.08)
By the summers end there might not be much of a state left to indite him at the rate he is going. The entire country will have been sold cheap through HISTORIC AGREEMENTS designed to divert attention from Olmerts legal problems and try and make himself to valuable to the region to get rid of. We need ellections now not waiting till the end of summer for Olmerts indictment or to have him stand down early and be replaced by Livni who is an even greater threat to Israel because her politics are all the same as his if not more left wing and stupid but she is new to politcs so she doesnt have a record to criticise so she is coming into the job with a clean slate. Ellections now before Olmert can sell the country or Livni can position herself into a situation where she can make Kadima ellectable and we get Olmert policy all over.
