1. Will it's symbol be a hammer and sickle?
Ben ,   Gush Etzion   (05.25.08)
He should have joined with Gydamak they share Leninist- Stalinist doctrines In case you do not understand, Ephraim Sneh's daddy was teh head of the Communist Party here in Israel!
2. Pathetic
Sagi ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
The man, the party, the old one,the new one,the whole political system, all that the120 "geniuses" represent and all that they do is simply pathetic.
3. What a misnomer for a political party.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.25.08)
It would be more appropriate to call it the "Surrender Now" party. A cynic might say this is just a vehicule for personal political advancement. Sneh is right about one thing though - Labour is certainly irrelevent. And by forming another party, left of Labour, he will make Labour even more irrelevent with his own irrelevent party. He figures he can get just enough votes from the looney left, especially since Meretz is foundering, to get a job. That's what I like about Israeli politicians - principles. Ha, ha, ha.
4. We don't need yet another useless party
Millie ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
First get your own party in order and force Olmert to resign. If Labor splits, then reformulate the party. If Labor had any guts (which it really doesn't because it likes to hold onto power in a weak government) leave the coalition and force new elections. Stop wasting taxpayers money on yet another stupid party. The public won't support you. We're sick of the system. Kadima, like so many other one-shot parties, is way down the toilet. Better you should work to bring electoral reform for a representational government. Then you'd be a hero.
5. Ephraim Sneh
National Democrat   (05.25.08)
Ben from Gush Ezion - if you looked at things in depth you may discover that Ephraim Sneh served as Administer of the Occupied West Bank - does that also make him a Lennist?
6. Another appeasing leftist party....waste of time!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (05.25.08)
Something we dont need. Another foolish politician that supports a bogus Palastine and believes Arabs want peace. Only fools never learn from past mistakes. I hope the new party Ha'tikvah might be the answer, but am yet to see anyone from them stand up for elections. Hopefully soon. We need a party that doesnt recognize the bogus Palastinians and is willing to never again cede land!
7. Maybe Sneh's party will replace Meretz?
redmiike ,   Tel Aviv, London, LA   (05.25.08)
Meretz will probably disintegrate so its die hards can vote for Sneh's new party. What's more important is that Olmert continues to lose coalition members. Mike
8. The phoenix of meretz
Arie ,   BaGolan   (05.25.08)
with left wing anti-Israel pro-surrender parties like meretz labour and kadima on their death beds, one more kapo seeking a way to surrender the State to terrorism
9. #5
Ben ,   Gush Etzion   (05.25.08)
That all depends on whom Sneh considered to be the occupiers, if he recognized that the arabs squatters were occupying Jewish Land then no but if he conducted himself as if it were Jews Occupying territories which are not ours and treated Jews as if we are doing something wrong then YES he is a commie!
10. strong?
sandgroper ,   Western Australia   (05.25.08)
want to be a strong israel? get behind netanyahu
11. To #4 - Millie: Well said!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.25.08)
Sneh's move is typical of Israeli politicians. Make you own party and spit the vote and waste the taxpayers money.
12. yet another poilitical party
gawain ,   israel   (05.25.08)
headed by yet another retired general/know-it-all, based on yet another slogan that glorifies power. ho hum. ho hum
13. #3, Terry,What worries me about sneh
Vicky ,   Ashkelon, Israel   (05.25.08)
Is he wants a strong social military force whilst he pushes forward with the same old Peace process. Blah blah blah, od sne-ah, havn't they all said that? Perhaps Terry, you should start a party I'd gladly help, What shall you call it. (don't say monster looney thats already been done in the U.K!)
14. here comes another here today gone tomorow single issue part
zionist forever   (05.25.08)
This country needs fewer stronger political parties get rid of these one time single issue parties which split the vote. We need more serious parties that are interested in the country as a whole not their own private issues PENSIONERS - better deal for pensioners SHAS - more money spent on yeshivot and other religious instiutions. ARAB PARTIES - just destroy the country nice simple. MEERETZ - bury our heads in the sand, sell the country off in return for empty promises and try secularise the country as much as possible. We dont want a system like the USA where you have just 2 parties who are virtualy identical, more choice btu real choice not just here today gone tomorow single issue parties who just hope they will get a seat in a coialition. This country needs a full scale politcal reform .. a system based on localy ellected politicians who listen to the voters not just a party higherarchy and a party that doesnt have to worry about keeping anybody happy eccept their coalition partnerts. Also a higher thresholld of support you need to stand for the Knesset to get rid of these one hit wonders.
