32. You're all being too simplistic.

Everyone spies. All countries spy. Countries spy on allies & adversaries. Even companies spy. America spies on us. We spy on America. China spies, Russia spies. We spy on Iran, Iran spies on us. Our spies are heros - their spies are treacherous traitors. The penalty for spying is basically a political decision. Spying on an ally is not the same as spying on an enemy.

Your own Arab population is treated like actual second-class population, so cut the crap. Sephardim could claim to be mistreated in Israel up to the middle 1970's, when they still had to live on government welfare due to having: a. Their property stolen from them by their former Arab countries, and b. Usually not having had a higher education. And you know the fun part? The Ashkenazi aliyah of the early Nineties made the *exact* same complaints. And do you know why? Because they were poor, didn't know the language, and were generally in a new and unfamiliar place. It takes time to adjust and adapt, but it's easiest to complain against discrimination. Oh, and by the way, just so you know... The average Christian (Arab) living in Israel is richer than the average Jew? The average Muslim Arab suffers from a lower income due to a much larger family (7-10 children, many more in the case of Bedoin with multiple wives), and a culture of the women always staying at home rather than participating in the workforce. The Ultra-Orthodox Jews, which share similar parameters (low workforce participation of men rather than women, yet still with very large family) are pretty much in the same situation. There are employement programs for both sectors, which were opened in recent years. So please, don't speak of inequality without knowing what that *means*. In legal terms, every individual is equal in this country. And before ranting about Zionism, kindly learn what it is - without taking in the standard hate-propaganda of the region.

"... You do of course remember that the Almighty gave us the 10 commandments which include "Thou Shalt NOT kill!" NO, *wrong translation*; the Hebrew says Thou shalt not ASSASSINATE -- another matter at all...
35. Re: Death to this spy but freedom for Pollard
mandehu   (05.26.08)
No other spy was ever sentenced (and maintained) in prison that long. Most Soviet MFer spies were sentenced to at most 15 years and released well before that...
36. Roman, I know I have read the brochures.

I have seen the same "information" put out by the Israeli governent about how why some people are complaining about their smallness of their piece of the pie - mostly financed by the American tax payers. You're doing your best to spin for the Zionistas, but it is not working, pal. I am NOT talking about the economic conditions of various groups in Israel. The fact that there are homeless people and child malnoutrition in Israel, while the Germans and Americans are senting millions and the Zionist government "holds" millions of Palestinains' tax dollars, shows how serious you guys are when it comes to economic opportunities. So spare me the canned explanation about the family size and empolyment program for "sectors". I am talking about human rights and political rights. That's where Zionism shows its real face - the face of racism, expansionism and Apartheid.

Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (05.27.08)
I expected the financial crap, really. Anything short of perfection means we're evil, eh? Fact is, in terms of economic opportunities we're on a higher level than many countries far richer than ours - frankly, we're in Europe's league in this case, particularly when it comes to medical care (we don't seem to have the endless bureaucracy in medicare). But go ahead, nitpick. You're good at turning that into generalizations. Now, would you care to explain to me just where Israel is unequal in terms of human and political rights to its citizens? Go ahead, I'm listening. So are the Arab MK's. So does Minister Majdaleh, I'm sure. So do all the judges that have those distinct Arab names.
