because now stupid olmert won't have an excuse for giving up the golan.
2. Syria a vassal of Iran.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (05.27.08)
Syrian Defense Minister Hassan Turkemani and a Syrian army delegation arrived in Iran for an official visit. While mentioning the ties between the two countries, as well as "recent regional developments," the Iranian Defense Minister expressed confidence that there would be no change in Syria's relationship with Iran. In addition to deep military and cultural ties, Syria is also heavily bound up with Iran financially. Iran is invested in Syrian car-manufacturing plants, a cement making facility, multi-million dollar wheat silos, fleets of buses and more. More about Syria : http://xrl.us/bk2zc
3. Write them off
Daniel ,   Israel   (05.27.08)
Just write off Syriya and Lebanan from our books. There is no hope untill Iran is defeated, which is not impossible; but difficult.
4. Syria uping co-operation with iran
I.kemp ,   Nahariya   (05.27.08)
What did sensible people say?! No surprise here then. The "patsey's " one and all are in Kadima and Labour . It's no good the likes of Mofaz ,Livni saying "I did not agree with withdrawing from the Golan" and setting conditions because they are as guilty by just remaining in the most corrupt party in the history of Israel
5. Yes!
Toppi Edelstam ,   Stockholm. Sweden   (05.27.08)

is increasing military cooperation with iran. Good thing olmert is giving up the golan. Its a sure way to bring peace to the region. Of course, israel will be in pieces and many jews will have to die. But as long as olmert stays in power, it will all be worth it.
7. Alliance with Militarism
steve ,   london, england   (05.27.08)
These Iranian and Syrian have no alliance with the idea of peace at all. Zionism will be their end. It is futile to fight against the inalienable right of the Jewish people to a nation State on the ancient lands of Israel. To fight against this is to fight against GOD. The Iranians ans Syrians are all stuffed suits. They respect the image of military uniforms and not the rights of human beings. They are disgusting people. Sixty years and still they refuse to recognize our right to exist. But this is their damnation ofcourse. Both of these nations have an independent future but the testament to humanity they are writing in their nations' histories will be deplored by their own future generations. They are in love with militarism. They want to sit at their meal tables with their wives and children gathered about them, and they want to brag and boast to them how they exterminated the Jews. What would they call this land if they could launch their weapons of mass destruction upon it? The Promised Land promises damnation to all who oppose the inalienable right of anyone to live here.... regardless of race or creed. The Syrians and Iranians are against the idea of Jews existing in peace. GOD decreed aeons ago that nations with leaders like these will have no peace. There will be no peace in Israel if the Golan is returned to Syrian sovereignty. The Golan must never be returned to Syrian sovereignty. It is a bit of GOD's Earth that will remind them of their ignorance of GOD's immutable law .......... thou shalt not kill.
8. Nothing is as it seems.....
Cy ,   Newcastle UK   (05.27.08)
The Iran Syria relationship is becoming ever more unequal. Increasingly Ahmadinejad is seen to try to bully and force his wishes on to Assad whilst Assad gets increasingly uneasy. Ahmadinejad needs Syria more than ever. Because as Ahmadinejad makes Iran increasingly isolated so he will want to embroil Syria ever more closely in the melee for moral and indeed military support. And heres the rub. Ahmadinejads henchmen in the RG and indeed some of the fanatical military absolutely revile Assad. If you listened to the whispers and indeed the so called jokes that have been around about Assad Ahmadinejad would not hesitate for a moment to do a Hariri to Assad and put a puppet in his place if Assad were not to capitulate fully to his demands and come 100% on side. Assad though is no fool. Whilst playing for time now, sooner rather than later he will decide wether now might be the time to jump ship and dump Ahmadinejad for good. Because the last thing Assad wants to do is sacrifice Syria, the Syrian economy, the possiblity of a Syria Israel peace treaty, the huge potential benefits from free trade and tourism - (I know so many people in the UK who would love to visit a country with such a rich heritage) and indeed his own future and life all on the alter of Ahmadinejads hegemony and regional if not global ambitions.
