31. Better than than us !
trumpeldor ,   eurabia   (05.28.08)
When a terror organisation takes over a territory, its population must not expect to have the same development rate as Singapore ! You want to die for alah? Die then ...
32. Israeli citizens
Ilana   (05.28.08)
All of Israeli citizens should have the same rights. As usual things are not so simple. You cannot have the rights if you don't recognize Israel and betray her. Betrayal warrants jail or being somehow kicked out to a previous place of living. No western country will give rights to citizens who are traitors or look to overtake the country and other citizens' rights. If a citizen lives up to i his or her duites as a citizen and is loyal to his or her country then by allmeans I would agree to fight for their equal rights. I lived in S.A. and believe me, you don't know what apartheid really is. Using it like that shows ignorance of the term, which is Afrikaans by the way, and it does not arouse any feelings of desire to right possible wrongs, only a smile of "here is another popular phrase used incorrectly and easily without any or much knowledge!!" Jews were kicked out of countless lands including Gaza, Hebron, and Yemen and Lebabnon and Syria and Egypt and I don;t think they are given the right of return to these lands! And pre Israel, Palestine belonged to Syria under British control, so Syria should grant those people the right of return by legal definitions.
33. Slanted article! Even the BBC didn't list Israel ..
redmiike ,   Tel Aviv, London, LA   (05.28.08)
The BBC is notoriously anti-Israel but check this and then compare it with this article. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/7422528.stm And just look at the pictures .. Kassams? Terror attacks? Dana seems to be a newbie journalist that probably works for free or for peanuts, If you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Mike P.S. Just select the link and then copy and past it!
34. Khaled what right are you talking about exactly.
Mike ,   Israel   (05.28.08)
35. It workds. We have found how to stop terrorism.
elianna ,   Jerusalem   (05.28.08)
36. #22 Simple question
Israel supporter   (05.28.08)
WHAT did YOU or your family contribute to Israel before 1948? You did nothing with this country. The Jews came back - you decided not to share - so the Jews fought for Israel and today it is a thriving country with some of the world's most brilliant minds. So again, what have you contributed to anything? Gaza, West Bank? what? You cannot come and take what is not yours. Sorry! But have a nice life.
37. khaled
israeli citizen   (05.28.08)
sad to say, but it looks like you will >die< from fighting the hand that feeds you. 1. you will not come to live in israel, 2. you can have a state of your own either in gaza or westbank, nobody cares what u do there, unless you attack israel with primitive homemade rockets. 3. every of your attempt to harm/hurt israeli citizen will come back at u like a boomerang and hit you 100x as hard (until you learn it). 4. this land (including gaza and wb) is jewish land. we gave you gaza back and you turned it into a kassam launch pad instead of building on it. you missused any of our help to create your independent state, you reviece water and electricity, medicine and food, money and weapons from us, and you missuse it against us. it is time you begin to rethink the course of your life, before you and your kinds will go under in a very emberassing way, like you did till now through out history. fact is, you guys dont have one single tallent. you only whine and complain. pitty...
38. International Amnesty for Terrorists
Jacob ,   Florida   (05.28.08)
The definition of “amnesty” is: To exempt offenders and criminals from their right punishment. This is the true intentions of Amnesty International while trying to prevent Israel to fight back those barbarians who hide behind their own women and children while slaughtering our own women and children. But these women send their own children to explode themselves in order to kill Jews. So they are not so innocent as portrayed. And even though I greatly lament the loss of the small children who perish in the Arab side, if their parents were not so savage they would not die by the direct making of their own parents who do not care at all for them. Jews teach their children to love and sing. Arabs teach theirs to hate and kill. Examining only one side of any given issue is to invariably draw outrageous conclusions and being unfair –– sometimes criminally unfair, as it is the intention behind this denunciation of AI. The main objective of the professionals in Amnesty International is to gather funds and keep for their organization and keeping their easy and lucrative jobs. Meanwhile, the main intention of Israel is to survive, because what the Jewish people have endured through the centuries at the hands of non-Jews cannot be repeated again. We Jews are for the preservation of the human life (Jewish and non-Jewish) more than any other people. But for the Jewish people the preservation of the life of non-Jews is not to be more important than the life of Jews, as the rest of the world would love have us do to our extinction. The Arab population in Gaza has openly and shamelessly displayed their ferocious hatred for Israel, as well as their insistent desire for the annihilation of every Jew. The professional hypocrites of Amnesty International know this very well. But they do not care, as they do not care about the countless innocent Jewish lives the Arabs have destroyed in all the wars they initiated and all the terrorism they have perpetrated against us. So, Amnesty International does not care about the Jews? Why should the Jews care about Amnesty International? Since all the restrain exerted by Israel in front of the constant genocidal crimes of our enemies is not appreciated, but condemned, by the so-called “world community,” we should unleash our warriors and finally kick out all Arabs from the land of Israel. And then, give them something to really cry about.
39. #36 and # 34 My rights and about what i did !
Khaled ,   Israel-Palestine   (05.28.08)
First i will repeat again the rights i am fighting for : 1.) if i leave Israel as an non Jewich Israeli cititzen for studying abord for longer than 5 years i might lose my Israeli citizenship ! Any non Israeli who is Jewish however has the right to return at any time he/she whiches to do so and become full citizen. THE RIGHT OF RETURN for JEWS ONLY IS A RACIST LAW ! 2.) Becuase all the land of Israel is controled by the Jewish National Fund JNF no land by its own constitution can be sold to non Jews ! THIS IS ANOTHER RACIST INSTITUTION 3.) The "Family Reunification Law" does not alowe me to live with my non-Jewish wife (from Betlehem) in my hometown Haifa ! Why ? becuase she as a non-jew constitues a threat ! THIS IS RACISM ! to #36 : My family cultivated for hundereds of years agricultural land in Palestine together with many other Jews living in the country ! All I AM FIGHTING FOR IS EQUAL RIGHTS AND AGAINST RACISIM ! ISRAEL WILL BECOME A STATE FOR ALL ITS CITIZENS ONE DAY JUST LIKE SOUTH AFRICA HAS BECOME !!!! thank you #28 Ariel for your support !!
40. #22's fanatical hypocrisy
Jacob ,   Florida   (05.28.08)
Is it your fanatical blindness or you evil hypocrisy what does not allow you to recognize that we Jews never have had –– to this day –– any such thing as equal rights in any Arab or Muslim country, but the semi-slave condition of dhimmitude? Why should we give to you what you do not give to us and others? Do you want rights for yourself? Good! I’m all for it. Go to Arabia! Oh, and when you are there try and ask for equal rights for Jews ... if you dare.
41. #37
Khaled ,   Israel-Palestine   (05.28.08)
i am an Israeli citizen just like you ! all i am not is Jewish ! is this why you think i support terrorists ? If i am alowed to serve my country in the army i would do so but i am not permitted ! why ? becuase i am a non- Jew ! I fight togher with other Israelis (organisation Zochot, Adahla, alternative informationa center, ACRI and many other Isreali organisations and individuals who are tired of Institurionalized racisim - Jews as well as non Jews) for equal rights, and we all idenitfy our selves as ISRAELIS !!! LONG LIVE A RASIST FREE ISRAEL !!!
42. #40 Becuase you would like to be a democracy !
Khaled ,   Israel-Palestine   (05.28.08)
and in a democracy all citizens are to be treaded equaly in front of the law ! Or are you treaded difrently in Florida as an US Jew then other US citizens?
43. To a certain extent...Amnesty is right.
Boblybo Gilobob ,   USA   (05.28.08)
The manner in which Israel is waging this "war" is immoral. It is immoral because it prolongs the misery of the innocents on both sides. Both sides will continue to suffer and die indefinitely. This is why, Israel needs to defeat Hamas on the battlefield and transfer the population to Eygypt in the south and to Jordan in the east. Only then will Israel be secure with defendable borders. Anything less will perpetuate an immoral "war".
44. Khaled
israeli ,   israel   (05.28.08)
The JNF controls less than 15% of the land. The rest belongs to the state. JNF lands were bought with money donated by Jews living outside Israel long before the State of Israel was established. Secondly, please don't lie about your forfeiting your Israeli citizenship if you travel abroad in order to acquire an academic situation. I work in a large Israeli hospital where most of the Arab doctors studied abroad. In order to earn the coveted MD, one needs to study for at least six years in a medical school (sometimes an additional year is needed to acquire language skills in that particular country). There are doctors here who studied in Russia, Romania, Yugoslavia, France, Italy, Germany etc. None of them has been stripped of their Israeli citizenship. As to your Bethlehem wife, I'm sorry about the situation, but there have been cases of Israeli Arabs marrying Palestinians from the territories, who in turn brought their families into Israel. Which was not a problem until some of those relatives became involved in terrorist activities. Which I trust is no news to you. So yes, we have become a little suspicious. But then you can always reunite with your wife in her native Bethlehem. As to not being allowed to serve in the IDF, wll, that is also not true. Even if you are not a Bedouin or a Druze, you can try to volunteer. We hear that of late Christian Arabs are serving even in the Golani, and have risen to the officer ranks. Ma'ariv had a very interesting article about such a young man in charge of Jewish soldiers. If the army won't have you, however, you can volunteer for national service. After two years you qualify for whatever rights discharged soldiers are entitled to. So rather than wine and sob about discrimination under the auspices of Adalah and Zochrot, ask yourself what you can do for your country before asking what your country can do for you as JFK put it.
45. #44
Ilana   (05.28.08)
Well said and finally we have some real comments and not bickering back and forth.
46. "the gravest humanitarian crisis to date"
al-kafir al-yahudi ,   usa   (05.28.08)
gaza is the gravest crisis ever to have existed in the entire history of the world? my history books were all wrong, and NOW i find out! i want my college money refunded.
47. Thank you, Ilana.
israeli ,   israel   (05.28.08)
48. Khalid - Fight for Equality in Arab Lands
Thomas   (05.28.08)
The remaining Jews in Yemen have been driven out of their homes by Shi'ite militias and now those homes have been destroyed. Any criticism from the Arabs? No. The blacks in Sudan are fighting for equality on their own land and they are violently denied? Complaints from the Arab League? Zilch. That no Arab country has a democracy is not an excuse. It seems that you only support democracy and human rights in other countries. That's very suspicious.
49. Amnesty Not In Our Reality
Christy ,   Boston, US   (05.29.08)
Some of the countries that Amnesty targets for criticism don't deserve it, if one lives in the reality the majority of us do. Amnesty seems to inhabit a different reality where it's ok to require one country - Country/People A to supply another country - Country/People B with assistance to wage war on A. Country B needs Country's A support to continue the fight against Country A. Only an idiot in Country A would help its enemy, Country B, with food, fuel, etc. to make the war possible.
