That is where that infection by the name of Norman Finkelstein definitely belongs.

Moshe   (06.03.08)
66. he is an enemy
leo solomon ,   israel   (06.03.08)
This man gives the cloak of respectability to the antisemetism that is ,in its new form of anti-zionism ,no longer taboo .The mantra recited by anti semites is -if diaspora jews ,like Finkelstein, and Israel's revisionist historians say it -it must be true,He ,and other self lacerating Jews have helped make Israel the Jew among nations-the second most hated country in the world -the world's favourite scapegoat .Israel is at war and he is an enemy whose purposes should not be abetted by us.
67. Do not let this Drek into our country
Moishe ,   Galut   (06.03.08)
68. Finklestein is Not a Self-Hating Jew
(06.03.08)
In the last interview I read with him, he likened himself to Christ. Self-hatred? The man is in love with himself as most "self-hating Jews" are.
69. "86' the pal lover.
petra ,   usa   (06.03.08)
He's welcome anywhere in the ME but Israel. Traitorus sh*t. Lock all the gates and keep him OUT of Israel.
70. Entrance visa is a privelege, not a right
Antonio ,   Haifa   (06.03.08)
He can say whatever he wants, but Israel is under no obligation to give him the privilege of an entrance visa. The author of this article is an utter ignoramus.
71. Why Mr.Feller believes people are obligated to host enemies?
Oz   (06.03.08)
The premise of Mr. Feller's article is the idol of "moral equivalence". Otherwise, there is no explanation for why Mr. Feller's article doesn't even notice (much less rebut) the common sense observation that it's unreasonable for you to host someone in your home who is committed to your destruction, and who has given their alliance and counsel to those who are actively and openly trying to achieve the murder of your family. If Feller actually cares about civil rights in Israel, let him start by accepting the civil right of Israeli citizens not to aid and abet people who have openly declared themselves enemies of Israel. I don't think Mr. Feller is intentionally allied with people dedicated to the destruction of Israel, only successfully confused by "progressive" propaganda in the vaccuum left by his rejection of any alternative principles. Hopefully, Mr. Feller will decide to use the historically rare treasure of his own civil rights to help protect the rights of all people (and not merely earn his living by making excuses for those who are trying to destroy Israel).
72. Frankly...
R.Alkalai ,   USA   (06.03.08)
It is Finklestein's expressed intention to harm Israel. He knows his words bring harm to Jews. He meets with Israel's enemies, who are sworn to destroy Israel, and kill Jewish people. He supports them in their intentions to do this. He aids them in doing this. He is, therefore, a terrorist among them, and an enemy of Israel and the Jewish people. He should be openly declared as such, and shunned among Jews, worldwide. Freedom of speech comes with personal responsibility for one's words and the harm they may cause. In his case, words bring death to innocent civilians. he deserves to be banned. And, frankly, if he was an enemy of the terrorists he supports, they would torture, butcher him and dance with his bloody entrails in the street, as they have with others.
73. no, don't let him in!
oded   (06.03.08)
that's the problem with too much democracy in isreal.. too many bleeding hearts who always are willing to turn the other cheek for another schmir! finke;stien &co. are not dangerous... just ignorant and sel-hating... we have plenty of them around us here.. take olmert... please! finki and his ideas are not dangerous , but contagious ,and as such , let's not have a despicable person like him in our midst. we have plenty of drek already!
74. Fee speech
Raphael ,   Netanya   (06.03.08)
What sort of free speech would Rabbi Kahane enjoy in Beirut or Ramallah? Let Pinkelsten enter Israel and enjoy the same treatment of free speech Kahane had to suffer in New York! And please publicize his address in Israel, so that people like me, who suffered the presence of nazi kapo and pro arab carpetbaggers in Europe, can dealwith him.
75. #48, There is no democracy in Israel
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (06.03.08)
When Israelis vote, they only vote for a party - not the individual. There is no accountability in government to the people. You see the same corrupt leaders in office all the time, and under the current system, they can't be removed. Finkelstein is a Jew, and should still be permitted to come to Israel, regardless of his opinion. And Canada is not so democratic either if people can't speak their minds freely.
76. Norman Finkelstein
Prof. Isaac Barr ,   Detroit, USA   (06.03.08)
Academics have special obligations when they speak: they have to be accurate, fair, balanced, responsible and open to criticism. Norman Finkelsteien was neither. He is a propaganda beacon for those who deny the Holocaust which he calls "Holocaust Industry". He is a professional liar who drives his support from the extreme radical left in USA and UK and may be financed by the Arab cause. He is not accepting criticism and thus his is not "free speech" but propaganda. This is why he was denied tenure at De Paul University in Chicago. His classes were considerred a propaganda stage, anti Israel and anti Jewish. Israel does not have to respect a garbage like Norman Finkelstein.
77. #13, Chanalau: Real intelligent! You not only read it, YOU
Stewart ,   USA   (06.03.08)
WRITE IT! Please go for a long walk off a short pier, and invite any other British antisemites to join you. You're worse than Finklestein. Oh, I doubt you're real name is Chanalau Tova. It's probably more Arabic sounding, or at least it should be.
78. #15, Wisconsin Marshall: Could not have said it better!
Stewart ,   USA   (06.03.08)
79. shin bet decision is good for norman

80. Most of the talkbacks, sadly, prove Finkelstein's views
guy ,   israel   (06.03.08)
81. #75, Rich...
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (06.03.08)
Oh dear. Oh deary, deary me. Rich old chap, Israel is a representative, parliamentary, liberal democracy. It is representative because it elects a group of people (otherwise known as "parties") to become their representatives in ruling the country, parliamentary because a parliament of representatives creates a government based on a given set of rules, and liberal because there are clear and present legal limits to what the government representing the majority can do, in order to prevent it from becoming a "tyranny of the majority". I've just defined "democracy". Apparently, you didn't quite know what that is! Having various parties deciding on a leading figure in Primaries is the reality from North America to various European states to Israel to Australia to India etc... The above parameters define modern-day democracies. For some reason, you seem to imply that Israel should be a leading figure when it comes to experimenting in Greek-style direct democracy. So the question remains - are you really so utterly ignorant on what defines a democracy, or is it just your way of being biased against Israel? Furthermore, Finkelstein being Jewish does not change the fact that he aligns himself squarely with self-declared military enemies of the state of Israel - to whit, Hezbollah. So for Israel he is an persona-non-grate, and a potentially dangerous one at that. And what was your point exactly, about how this isn't... democratic?
82. being a jewish idealist doesnt give non Israelis entry right
zionist forever   (06.03.08)
When Finkelstein travels on a Israeli passport he will have an automatic right to enter Israel & not be deported back to the US but as long as he is not an Israeli citizen he has no rights in Israel and that includes a right of entry. Hel isnt being denied the right to free specch just the right to enter Israel to make his speeches in Israel. He mentions China .. does he have an automatic right to come and make his speeches there or does China have a right to turn him away and say enjoy your free speech in the US dont bother us with all your idealism. I would also consider any man who goes to have friendly chats with Hizbullah a threat to national security even if he is jewish. Finkelstein go to the US, write books, give lectures, visit terrorists and just about anything else you want to do bust just stay away from Israel and dont waste your time our ours.
83. #80, Guy, your statement proves your ignorance!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (06.04.08)
84. Finkelstein exerts intellectual terrorism.
Anti Terrorist   (06.04.08)
And the author plays the useful idiot part. Would he also argue that Goebbels should be permitted to enter Israel and exert his right to free speech? Next thing he'll ask why doesn't the Israeli government reprint Mein Kampf, or the Protocols, merely to show that it respects - to the letter - Freedom of Expression...
85. If he hates Israel so much, why does he need to enter it?
vered ,   israel   (06.04.08)
86. Norman Finkelstein
Fussion ,   Israel   (06.04.08)
It is surely amazing to see the comments on this article showing how fanatical, dark age and unenlightened most responders are. Israel a democracy :say what ?
87. Let him enter Israel through Gaza
Jack ,   San Diego, USA   (06.04.08)
88. Norman Finkelstein
Asher Naim ,   Jerusalem   (06.04.08)
1. Israel is indeed under siege 2.No one is depriving Norman from airing his views, which he does devoutedly . 3. Why take the risk?Visit to Israel may give him more information for Israel's enemies. 4. Israel owes nothing to Norman 4.
89. Let Finkelstein In
i Shmuel Izik Popack ,   Brooklyn NY   (06.05.08)
The Most couragous thing that Israel ever did was to bar this audacious renegade from entring Israel. A Chalahik way has to be found for the severing of jewish ties with a individual that consorts and comforts the enemies of the jewish People.Let them join the people that please them and share space with them in the garbbage can of history
90. Finkelstein does not deny the Holocaust
andrew r ,   St. Louis, USA   (06.06.08)
Of all the misconceptions about him, that one's the most ridiculous. He actually writes about Holocaust survivors and their kids being cheated out of compensation. Finkelstein wanted to visit a friend in Hebron. It's not his fault he has to go through Israel to get there.
