4. Abbas Tears
Jeff ,   Canada   (06.04.08)
Abbas is a sniveling Coward. He didnt like what Obama said regarding Jerusalem so now he threatens to talk with Hamas. Go for it abbas. I cant wait till the IDF finally finishes off the myth of the Palestinian people.
5. Mr. Abbas, Jerusalem was first occupied in 70 CE...
Shimon bar Kochva ,   Matzada, Israel   (06.04.08)
Mr. Abbas, Jerusalem was first occupied in 70 CE, when the Roman occupiers embarked on their campaign to ethnically cleanse the land of Jews, renaming Judea "Palestine". Then again, Mr. Abbas, your myopic vision of history is nothing new to those who have heard you speak throughout the years. My only hope is that you realize that, when you chant, "End the Occupation!", you only fuel the flames of Jewish resistance to the occupation CALLED "Palestine". David HaMelekh chai vekayam!!
6. #3 - Lauren, Don't worry...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (06.04.08)
Don't worry, Lauren, Palestinian "unity" is about as water-tight as a leaky paper bag. Want proof? Measure the scale of Palestinian on Palestinian violence with that of Palestinian on Israeli violence.

you misunderstood, fellow muslim. if obama doesn't win, it is the victory of the israelis because if you think obama is tough on the despotic autocratic regimes of your people, mccain is even stronger and tougher. jerusalem is the eterna; capital of the jews, abraham isac and jacob, not ishmael. you can't erase jewish history by islamic conquests no matter how glorious they were. you can't eradicate a people, a nation and claim it didn't exist on the jewish homeland. you are deluding yourself and your despicable umma and perfidious degrading muhamad. you were conquerors, not citizens of that land. do not invent history. learn it instead. jerusalem will never fall into your hands as golan won't either. jews are brilliant, very smart and know how to protect themselves from the likes of you. i suggest instead of hating all the infidels, start learning truthful history....not the kind delivered by despicable liars in mosques such as your perfidious imams who are barbaric, uncultured, uninformed and degenerate in front of all world opinion. work on your societies that can never function properly, are never educated, never aquire science and technology, never move forward, kill and mutilate their own and lack any semblence of intelligence to learn, to lead, to prosper. this is why you all need the imams, the autocratic rulers, the opressions...because you and your various sects and clans can never behave themselves in a civilized manner. the whole world is witness to this shortcoming. maybe you deserve the regimes under which you can never flourish?
8. To: Mr M. Abbas, Fatahland
HM England Q ,   Cloudy Island   (06.04.08)
The West Bank and East Jerusalem were occupied by Jordan (formerly Transjordan) for a period of nearly two decades (1948–1967) starting from the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. In 1950, with British approval, and despite Arab League opposition, Jordan extended its jurisdiction over the West Bank. The inhabitants of the West Bank became citizens of Jordan. 9. Mr. Abbas, are you a real muslim believer?
Sharayave   (06.05.08)
Qur'an 17:4 : And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture: Ye verily will experience corruption (exile) in the earth twice, but Ye will then after (thumma) ascend (ta’lunna) to a great height (or station). "But it was Our [Allah's] will to favour those [the Children of Israel] who were oppressed in the land [of Egypt] and to make them leaders among men, to bestow on them a noble heritage and to give them power in the land [of Egypt]; and to inflict on Pharoah, Haman and their warriors the very scourge they [the Egyptians] dreaded".[Qur'an, sura 28:3, "The Story"] Read more? http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/quranhadith.html

You are so wrong and pathetically brainwashed. Well, the poor of Lebanon taught your idf a lesson, or two? the poor of Iraq taught your american friends a lesson or two? the vietnamese? remember? You used to be gaza, didn't you? south lebanon? west bank? Well, again, although the west is so technologically advanced, they are a bunch of primitive killers. Iraq? Palestine? Afghanistan? Africa? south america? even Europe until recently? the japanese? i guess the list is endless. When a coward like you comes and talks, he needs to look in the mirror. It is an honour today to be a muslim, but it is a shame to be WESTERN. History has a lot of lessons to teach you. The french stayed in Algeria for over a hundred years, and they left finally, the the ingenious regained their land. The indians were all killed, not so luck, or not deadly enough !! layla tov
11. #10 Your history is about to change
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.05.08)
The electric car is now on the market. There will be a period of fine tuning but in time, the West will not need Arab oil. You'll need to figure out a way to feed millions of muslims on economies that Arab/Muslim leaders have already driven into the ground. Your Hizbullah terrorists and militants in Iraq show us how depraved and bloodthirsty Islam can be. Change is in the air. You better get ready to be less dependent on the West. And like #7 said, learn history, don't fabricate it.
12. #4 Jeff stick with Canada
y ,   Detroit, MI   (06.05.08)
wouldn't be fair for you to talk about the puppet you have for a prime minister Steve Harper who has literally been doing everything the US is asking for. I can't wait til the US finishes off the jolly land Canada myth..
13. What the whole world knows is that
Bet Chesed ,   Galut   (06.05.08)
A muslim, the Umayyad Caliph Abd-el Malik decided to change the location of the "farthest" mosque from Medina or heaven to Jerusalem in an attempt to increase his own political clout in the 7th century. This coupled with the anti-Jewish rhetoric that Mohammed added to the Koran after the Jews refused to convert to his adaptation of the Torah, led to a great desire to take over the Jews' holy site.
14. And Israel has been allowing the PA to get arms and training

Thomas   (06.05.08)
The poor of Lebanon you say? Are you referring to the well financed Hezbollah. How did they win? By remaining too well-hidden during the course of time the US allowed Israel to strike. As for Gaza and the West Bank, you think Israel left because of youre petty resistance? No it has everything to do with Europe, the US, and your oil. Incidentally, are you proud of the Armenian genocide, the East Timor genocide and the Sudanese genocide? How about the anti-Chinese riots in Indonesia? The raping of school children in Russia? Are you proud of Islam's history of huniliating minorities? I could go on and on. The West has a terrible history of violence too but it's still where Muslims want to be, as evidenced by the lines which form outside Western embassies in Islamic countries. Trust me, know one is hoping to gain Pakistani or Iranian citizenship. I bet even you live in the West. Masaa al-khair
16. Obama's Not Making Sense
(06.05.08)
"Jerusalem to be the undivided capital of Israel and repeated his demand for a Palestinian capital in the city." How can Jerusalem be an univided city while two independent nations share it?
17. Fatah=Hamas
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (06.05.08)
The difference between Fatah and Hamas lies in their preferred strategies for the attainment of the destruction of the Jewish State of Israel. It is a disgrace that the international community does not yet understand that there is no difference in goals of Hamas and Fatah : both are commited to Israel’s destruction. No concessions from Israel can change that fact as explained at : http://xrl.us/bju8k
18. Islamic interest in the Temple Mount starts in 1967.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (06.05.08)
Jerusalem simply never held any sanctity for the muslims themselves, but only for the Jews in their domain. It can be seen that significant Islamic interest in the Temple Mount does not precede the Six-Day War. The 13th century Arab biographer Yakut noted: «Mecca is holy to muslims; Jerusalem is holy to the Jews». PLO leader Yassir Arafat and the Arabs claimed the Holy Jewish Temple Mount and Jerusalem based upon one extraordinarily huge lie told over and over again. The truth is simple Jerusalem is Jewish and should never be devided again as described at : http://xrl.us/bjheo
19. #10 ....
GZLives   (06.05.08)
And you #10 are the best example of what the West needs to first prevent but if they fail, must do in order to undo a fantasy you and your friends have embraced. For example, "a lesson Lebanon taught our IDF?" What lesson do you believe that to be? The only lesson that needs to be learned is overwhelming force despite collateral damage must be used otherwise you and your friends become delusional and begin to swallow your own .... bullshit. Lets get real friend - and I've heard this sort of thing from others who are delusional and believe such nonsense is the IDF/IAF cannot turn Gaza into a parking lot in literally a few hours. They can friend. And the only thing that stands in the way of doing so and restraint, is the humanity of the Jews and world opinion. But that thinking is wrong headed and only causes the delusional sort of thinking like you exhibit here. Its good that people see what wrongheaded thinking causes to happen. When the Russians get attacked by your friends the Chechins, what happens my friend ? Have you seen the lunar landscape of Grozny? Do the Russians care what anyone in the world thinks when they level whole towns in Chechniya? What happened to the Tibetans? Do you think China cares what the world thinks? Even though they have the Olympics to think about, keeping order is more important to the Chinese. What do you suppose would happen to Tibet if they began firing rockets into Chinese cities? Don't flatter yourself my Arab friend. Don't delude yourself. Don'tget thousands and thousands more killed because of your delusions. We can obliterate you, Lebanon, Gaza, and much more in a few days and don't you forget it. Not ever. We can make all your cities and towns vanish if we weren't who we are - but if you continue to try and exploit that and use it to kill us, ultimately those within our society who have already arrived at that place where they no longer care if you live or die, will gain the majority and you will, and believe this I beg you, you will lose, and it will be very clear and very decisive and you will not recover for many decades - and never again with any capacity to wage your Jihad. So think my friend, what is real and what is fantasy.? We are a modern, powerful and lucky for you, still a humane society. But that can change.
20. The Real Abbas
Dan ,   USA   (06.05.08)
It took a little while but what most Jews knew is that Abbas was no different than the leaders of Hamas. The only ones that didn't know so were Olmert and the rest of the Israeli leaders that are willing to give Israel away to the terrorists.
21. #16, read this again, & use your head . . . .
er der   (06.05.08)
The Palestinian President also rejected Barack Obama's call on Wednesday for Jerusalem to be the undivided capital of Israel and repeated his demand for a Palestinian capital in the city. Try this: "He also: rejected Barack Obama's call . . ." "He also: repeated his demand for a Palestinian capital in the city GET IT?
22. #5 Shimon bar Kochva
Said ,   London, UK   (06.05.08)
If you're going to go THAT far back, why don't we start at the beginning? Jerusalem was first truly occupied when the Jews took it from the Jebusites. So you see, you are as much occupier as anybody else!
23. HOW MUCH ABBAS PAYS TO ISRAEL FOR BEEN CARTOON LEADER
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU ,   MADE A POINT :)   (06.05.08)
24. You're all missing the point ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.05.08)
Abbas is making a clever political move since he knows the peace process is just about over. As anyone with any brains predicted, it would all come to nothing. The differences are irreconcilable. Nonetheless, Abbas had many advantages in taking part in this charade, as did our idiot politicians. I am not talking about the ideologically impaired peace loonies like Peace Now but our cynical, maipulative, unprincipled politicians like Olmert, Livni, & Barak. Now, the jig is up. So, of course, Abbas wants talks with Hamas - to save his worthless skin. Even had there been progress in talks, eventually Abbas would have been forced to open talks with Hamas, just now, it has more urgency. Hamas will take advantage of this without making a single concession to the Fatah crooks. The handwriting is on the wall - eventually, when spineless Olmert & the equally spineless Barak are out of power, we will deal militarily with Hamas. While Abbas did not want to see a ceasefire, neither can he politically bear a major military operation. Hence, the talks with Hamas.
25. #22 Said, UK. We are the Jebusites.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.05.08)
Or, at least partially, their descendants along with all the other Canaanites, assorted Philistines, some Hittites, Horites, Hurrians, and no doubt, some other assorted peoples from that time period. Logic should tell you that the Hebrews or Israelites could not have been all that numerous, far less than the Canaanites, Jebusites included. It should be equally evident that the Canaanites did not disappear at the conquest but that they absorbed the Israelites. The obviousness of this is that Hebrew as a language is Canaanite, other dialects of the same language, & virtually identical being Moabite & Edomite. The litereray devices & poetic metaphors in the oldest parts of the Torah are a continuation of that that Canaanite tradition. So, saying that we are as much "occupiers" as anyone else, is not quite accurate. By the way, I liked your comment about democracy in JPost. As a secular ideology, it has a lot going for it - but I was talking about secular ideologies of a less benign nature.
